Great service during stressful time
When my dog was poorly, it was stressful and I dreaded dealing with the bills and insurance. Thankfully my dog was treated and recovered well and my vet bills were fully paid within a few days, I just signed one form and have email confirmation when everything was completed. Fantastic service!

Excellent customer service
I spoke with Rachel, she was polite, informative and very very helpful. My dog's chip.was a European chip and she assisted me in registering and talked me through transferring to yourselves. Very simple process and only £12. I would recommend you to others without doubt. Once again, please do let Rachel know how great she was.

I have cats and mircochipped them from kittens but I bought a cat that was chipped in some else's name i rang pettrac the staff was amazing it was all sorted in one day with no trouble all staff are amazing and helpful friendly lovely to talk with this company is fantastic thank you so much.
Misleading, stressful and still not got my cat properly registered
I am extremely disappointed with this company and how I was spoken to on the phone.I paid for my cat Joy’s microchip to be updated and registered so she would be properly protected, but instead I have had nothing but stress and confusion. I do not drive and not everyone can just “get to the vet”, but the woman on the phone was rude and really snotty with me about it. She kept telling me to take my pets to the vet even after I clearly explained my situation.
My cat is not well – she projectile vomits and is struggling, and a trip to the vet is very traumatic for her when there is no genuine medical reason to go. Even knowing this, the woman still kept repeating that I had to take them to the vet, instead of listening and checking their own records properly.I was absolutely adamant that I had given them the right microchip numbers. To be sure, I rang Identibase, who confirmed that the numbers I have for Joy and for my dog are correct. So I have proof from the official database that my numbers are right.
At first this company even told me that Joy was registered fine, and then later tried to say there was a problem and tried to blame Identibase. Identibase say the numbers are right, so it is clearly this company that has messed up their records, not me and not Identibase.I still don’t feel confident that my cat is properly registered and protected, even though I have paid for it, and I have completely lost trust in them. With the rudeness on the phone, the pressure to go to the vet for no medical reason, and the mixed messages about whether my cat is registered or not, I would not recommend them to anyone.
EDIT: it has been sorted out i have had to re register my cat as i mixed up the chip number giving my dogs for my cat and so forth. I did explain i struggle with numbers and vision becsuse of my disabilty. Im finally at ease a little bit and the second 2 staff members i spoke to were nice. It was a shame about the first ladies attitude re my cat but people do have bad days. So i am changing my rating to 3.

Should not charge to update your own details
You should not be charged £6 to update your own address via the portal.
The alternative is 'PETtrac Plus' for £16 as a one off payment to make multiple changes.
But considering I am the one making all the changes - why am I being charged?

A HUGE shout out to Ben
A HUGE shout out to Ben, who was very helpful in helping me identify that I had fallen victim to a microchip scam previously. Take care when searching PETtrac that petmicrochip at petsmicrochip doesn't appear before the legit website. Paid £21 to them to find out 10 months later, my dog was never and has never been registered to me :( I have since registered with PETtrac (The actual correct site!) Thank you so much Ben, you have been very helpful.
Excessive delays
Updated my pets details and ordered a tag at the same time. I dont know what postage option they use but 7-10 days is bonkers. Anyway it didn't turn up after much longer than that and I've had to request another. Why does it take so long.
UPDATE. They ordered me another tag...I waited the 7-10 days again...it didnt arrive. Is this upgrade even a thing. Requested a refund!

Long process and unexpected fees to leave
Never heard of this company but somehow my pets have ended up registered here (presumably previous company transferred them when it closed 🤷♀️)
Trying to move my pets to another company. Pettrac got back quickly to tell me I needed to fill in forms with the same info I’ve already provided and sign up from scratch with them- even though I’ve been clear I want to move to another company. After registering with then and following the recommended process, turns out there are fees to take the next step, which weren’t mentioned up front.
Reading other reviews it looks like there is a whole long process to go through after that
I really just want to leave them asap. It should not be this hard and all fees, the full process and options should be outlined up front
This is total extortion!
Update - To confirm this has now been resolved. Pettrac were very helpful in finding a solution. Will delete this review

Unfortunately not "that" impressed.
Unfortunately not "that" impressed so far.
Bought a new puppy, gave Pettrac my details for the chip, they said they were contacting the breeder to get "permission" to change the details for my dog. I heard nothing from Pettrac.
I have contacted the breeder and he is still waiting for the letter from Pettrac so he can sign it and send it back.
Apparently I have to wait 28 days to get the details changed if Pettrac do not get any so called permission - I paid good money for my puppy, I should know that I own him, and I do not appreciate being messed about like this.
I wouldn't recommend this company for a microchip database company, if they can be unreliable for a simple change of ownership then what else are they going to be unreliable with ?.

I have been talking with someone called Rachel, she has been so amazing and very understand of my particular situation. Responds first and is very kind and reasurring. So much so I want to transfer my other dog microchip to pettrac and she is helping me through the process.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Ben who has guided me over a few days through the process of having my newly arrived pup transferred to my ownership. I submitted the incorrect chip reference, Ben almost immediately called me and followed up with helpful emails so I was easily able to submit the right reference from my vets. I haven't had a dog for 25 years and this technology wasn't around then.
I am grateful to Ben's professional and helpful friendly approach to resolving the situation and if you do a scheme of employees of the year awards then Ben must surely win. The prize, well an all expenses holiday over Christmas in the Caribbean would I'm sure do the job.
