I purchased a beginners kit for my mom as a gift and she was so excited! She has always wanted to have a manageable system for real jellyfish. These two new additions to the family have quickly want everyone over and is absolutely beautiful! The team was great and very helpful With anything I needed in the process.

RESEARCH FIRST & BUY ELSEWHERE

I'll start saying that I'm doing 2 stars instead of 1 because the customer service was ok and the jellies did arrive alive and well. Patrick responded to my emails quick and handled THEIR early mistakes well. But this company is unprofessional and a RIPOFF.

MOST IMPORTANT THING: DO YOUR RESEARCH! LEARN WHAT THE SCIENCE IS BEHIND THE MARINE ENVIRONMENT THAT YOU'RE CREATING! And you CAN'T rely on them to teach you.

I've wanted jellyfish for YEARS so I decided to buy a "starter kit" from Pet Jellyfish for the ease of not needing to spend as much time finding everything I need...

I received my order missing 2 important things. Patrick was able to send those out to me pretty quick. But it's RIDICULOUS how they package everything - it all comes in plastic bags that are marked for other products. I'm all for reusing plastic, but the salt bag came with holes in it and there was salt all over everything. The liquid bacteria also came in a bag! It's LIQUID in a plastic bag tied in a knot? Why not in the bottle labeled with the info? The NO3 test kit came in a box clearly used and opened!

I got the starter kit as it's advertised as being perfect for beginners. I expected an official manual/booklet with detailed directions for how the tank works, how to maintain water levels, jellyfish care, and about different issues you can have with possible solutions, etc. A PDF via email would have been fine too! YOU GET NO INSTRUCTIONS/MANUAL SENT. All I got was an email with very vague instructions in the body of the email and a few links to half a$$ed youtube videos which had info conflicting with the email.

For the water to be a stable environment for anything to live, you need bacteria present which feeds on the waste from he jellies and left over food otherwise it's toxic. Some people prep the water and grow that bacteria for over a month before putting anything live in. This company sends you the liquid starter bacteria and claims the water is ready in 7 days. Try googling this and you'll find many conflicting opinions about using the starter stuff. The thing is that the starter bacteria that companies are bottling up has an expiration date (it's live bacteria living in a bottle), and when it's unsealed, it'll only last a few months. Again, my bacteria was sent to me a plastic bag tied in a knot, so who knows when the bottle was set to expire, or when it was opened. I chose to use both methods to grow bacteria - I used the bacteria sent to me, but also waited 5 weeks before ordering the jellies to let it grow. I followed all the instructions sent, only difference was I waited several weeks before putting jellies in which should have only BENEFITED and made my tank more prepared. I've had the jellies for 3 weeks now, so the tank has been set up for a total of 8 weeks, and it's only NOW going through the cycle with that bacteria! Don't need more detail, but let's just say that now my jellies are in danger. So either they sent me expired bacteria, OR it was fake. But people complaining in reviews saying their jellies died - it's probably because they trusted that the water was ready in 7 days - wrong.

IT'S A RIP OFF! I paid $700 for this kit. I assumed it would come with detailed instructions and everything I need. but no. My theory is the bacteria came in a bag because they didn't want to send me the whole bottle so they split it up among these kits (I just bought a new bottle for $10). The test kit they send you is for NO3 only, you need to monitor levels for other things too, mine came in an open box with the substances SO tiny and clearly taken out, so I bet they split them up too. I bought a different testing kit that includes all you need for $15. I'm sure they get everything wholesale and the fact they're not even sending you the full amounts of the products that are already cheap at regular prices is just shameful. They are literally nickle and diming you. You can buy my same exact tank on amazon for $150. And if I had just researched everything else I needed, I could have purchased it all separately including jellyfish for around $150 and learned on my own while paying a total of $300 and I would have felt way more prepared/educated and could have saved $400.

The jellyfish are cool and I believe I'll get the hang of it and don't anticipate the maintenance being that bad once everything is settled. So get them if you want! But don't buy from this company. DO YOUR RESEARCH and just buy everything separately from other places so you don't waste time figuring everything out anyways after wasting money and potentially endangering your jellies.

To the business: If you're gonna charge top dollar, have some freakin pride in what you're sending to people! and you'll spend way less time on customer service answering questions and dealing with bad reviews if you just create some detailed instructions with important info!

Fast delivery however the first group…

Fast delivery however the first group of jellyfish were not healthy. Patrick was able to resend a second batch as replacement and 3 of the 4 are well and healthy; received a refund for the 1 unhealthy one

Patrick is responsible and reasonable. Solid experience and best experience getting jellyfish ex-US by far

Solid product and fantastic service!

The jellies are great and the starter kit had everything we needed, but what really sold me is the responsive and helpful customer service they have! If you have any doubts about anything, definitely shoot an email to support and you'll be as sold as I am.

Blue cannonball

So I recently purchased 4 blue cannonball jellyfish from PetJellyfish, and I couldn’t be happier! The ordering process was seamless, and the jellyfish arrived healthy, active, and beautifully packaged with care. Amazing Experience

Do not buy!!

Do not buy!!! The aquarium is not fit for purpose- jellyfish just die and the company does nothing but charge you for replacements, they do not care about the animals at all.

Pet jellyfish are refusing to give a refund for the starter kit despite how expensive it is, when it does not work. This is still ongoing since we purchased the kit back in January.

Learn from our mistakes and AVOID!!!

Great communication

Great communication. The jellyfish were too small to ship and they kept us informed of all the delays. Shipping next day - I had all the tracking info. We also received a sheet how to care for the jellyfish. Jellyfish came healthy and alive!

Excellent service

I am really pleased with the service I received, I ordered my Jellies on Sunday evening and by today (Wednesday) they are happily swimming in there tank.
The information I received beforehand from Pet Jellyfish was excellent and they kept me up to date on the delivery date.
Very healthy looking Jellies too.

Very responsive and helpful in getting the tank setup, the product looks as described and seems well built. I’ve had the jelly fish for a few months now, they are not the easiest of pets to keep, and could not have done it without their guidance

Amazing customer service!

Pet Jellyfish, thank you again for bringing joy to my bedroom with your product! The shipping and updates where amazing and appreciated as well as accurate. Patrick was amazingly helpful and responded back in a quick timely matter. When missing a jellyfish in my order, Patrick had sent the missing one out that following day for me with express shipping. I'd also like to thank for the detailed and easy to read help guide on how to care for the jellies. Thank you again for an amazing customer service and great product.

Received faulty product

Ordered a tank and jellyfish with a cost of nearly £1700.
Started off ok, company answering questions etc.
Tank arrived with a crack on the outer plastic but very small and cosmetic only so chose to inform the company but it wouldn't be seen so left it.
Then we noticed the LED lights wouldn't change colour, company said they would replace. Then the next day we found the tank leaks. We only had the tank 2 days.
Company will refund but only if I pay the shipping which I am not responsible for. They are NOT UK based which is how it looks on their website.
Tank is not fit for purpose, company wants me to just glue it.
Am now going through citizens advice, trading standards and my bank.
Since buying this have seen lots and lots of bad reviews and been told of issues with them from other people.
