I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience with PerformYard.
The sales process felt misleading from the start. I was told multiple times on calls that the agreement was for one year, and there was urgency to sign by January 1 to receive a discounted rate. However, the contract was not actually sent until January 31, and within it, a 3-year term had been inserted without ever being discussed. I did not catch this at the time, which I take responsibility for, but it was never clearly communicated.

We paid in full for what we believed was a one-year agreement and stopped using the platform after about six months because it simply wasn’t a fit. The product felt redundant, another system to manage without adding meaningful value. Much of what it offers can be accomplished through simpler tools.

When I later informed them we would not be renewing, I began receiving additional invoices. That’s when I discovered the contract had been written as a 3-year term. Trying to resolve this was frustrating and disappointing. We are still paying year 3 haven't touching in 2.5 years and its not set up heavy. Our platform was 10-12k per year based on seats. Very low skill.

I fully understand the importance of honoring contracts and transparency matters. This experience felt like a bait-and-switch, and it significantly impacted my trust.
I would not choose to work with this company again.

My experience with PerformYard has been very positive overall. The platform is straightforward to use, and it has made managing evaluations, feedback, and goals much more organized and efficient.

What stands out most is how easy it is to track performance and keep everything in one place. It helps streamline the evaluation process and makes it easier to stay consistent with feedback and documentation.

One area for improvement would be making some features a bit more intuitive, especially for first-time users, and possibly adding more guided walkthroughs or templates. Overall, it’s a reliable system that supports performance management well and saves time.

Makes employee tracking so much easier

The Easiest and Most Flexible Review Software!

We have been using PerformYard since June 2023, and it has truly transformed our performance review process. What used to feel time-consuming and complicated is now simple, organized, and efficient.

One of the things we love most is the flexibility—our review templates can be updated or customized at any time, which allows us to continuously improve our process as our company grows. The automatic scoring feature is a huge time-saver and ensures consistency across all reviews.

We conduct quarterly reviews, so having a system that is easy for both managers and employees to use was critical. Perform Yard has delivered on that completely. The platform is very user-friendly, and the ability to track employee goals throughout the year keeps everyone aligned and accountable.

PerformYard has saved SO much time!

Our company strictly used Microsoft office to generate reviews and goals. When PerformYard was implemented, it took a while to get everyone acclimated, but what a difference it has made within our company. Managers went from trying to organize each employees personal folder to having it auto save in an archive under each of their employees. This has saved a lot of time for each manager. The employees, especially less tech savvy individuals, are still trying to navigate the website. However, each bi-annual review with their manager has increased their skillset with this program. It has helped keep everything organized and logged. I would highly recommend using this product for your company! (Our company has about 350 employees).

Predatory company without innovation

The salesperson lied to us. It was difficult in cancelling the subscription, and they forced you to pay a ridiculous amount for a service we don’t use. They’re literally losing nothing but a future profit, such a predatory practice. They’re aiming small businesses and holding companies hostages. The system itself was pretty outdated if you compare what’s available on the market. Just check their LinkedIn, 80% of employees are salesperson trying to get them profit, not those who want to innovate the product itself. My performance form on Google Sheet can do more, not even a 9-box overview. If you want to feel like you’re working in the early 2000s, go for it. The support I received was also pretty lazy and was not the friendliest! Arguing our vision is to complex to convert it to their system. Duh, then why should we use their product at all? I wish I could give them -999. I hope karma gets their leadership team someday.

Sadly for us a former employee signed our company up without authorization, probably not knowing what she was doing and now they are threatening us for non payment of a product we never received.

Sleazy SAAS tactics and they do not work with your changing business. When we asked our rep for step by step instructions on how to cancel, he said send an email. He omitted the part about 60 days before your contract ends. Now they are pushing back on us canceling and they’ve known for over a year we were not renewing. Gross. Sleazy. Misleading. There are way better options!!!

Sneaky sales tactics + program is…

Sneaky sales tactics + program is redundant if you are using any other platforms. Would not recommend a stand alone system like this. Also ai can create customized review systems for free now... Not worth the money. Probably why they bill upfront and do not give monthly options. Try predictive index or pay a great HR consultant to create a custom system if you do not have internal support.
