Catfished By Overalls
I had a really disappointing experience with Peppermint Cycling, which is a bummer because I genuinely wanted to love their brand.
I placed an order primarily for their overalls, which were on sale. Since I was already paying $14 for shipping, I added a jersey and socks to the order.
When my order arrived, the jersey and socks were included, but the overalls were not. I was later informed that the overalls were actually out of stock, and I was issued a refund for them.
Customer service offered a 10% discount code as an apology, which frankly did not come close to covering the inconvenience, let alone the $14 shipping on a new order. I would never have paid that shipping cost for just a shirt and socks. To make matters worse, while browsing the site afterward, the website automatically generated a 15% coupon, which was more than what customer support offered.
I emailed asking if there was any way to work out a deal on their newer overall model, given the situation. I never received a response.
Mistakes happen, but this felt like a combination of inventory mismanagement, weak resolution, and poor follow-up. I ended up paying premium shipping for items I would not have ordered on their own, with no meaningful effort to make it right.
I still like their designs, but this experience seriously hurt my confidence in ordering from them again.
