BEWARE- I paid over £2500, 2 years ago and my calm natured Labrador retriever is still not a qualified therapy dog with PAWS. Loads of hidden cost and very little support. I would not recommend.

Then I got Bailey, who along with the wonderful help and support of the Paws team have given me the confidence to go out again. They have helped me teach Bailey how to support me with such things as emptying the washing machine and picking up drop objects. Thank you Paws

The PAWS team are wonderfully supportive with an unfathomable depth of knowledge and experience. PAWS has set us up for success with regular guidance, 1:1 support and video conference calls through each developmental stage & challenge of learning new skills through positive, reinforcement training. We are so very thankful we chose PAWS and highly recommend them.

The PAWS team are amazing. Not only are they so supportive of the people on the course, but the well being of the dogs is always put first. All feedback and advice given is in a positive format. The understanding and adaptions made for neurodiversity and all disabilities is fantastic. I thought I knew quite a lot about dogs before I started this course, but I have learnt so much, both in terms of training and reading dog body language and meeting their needs. Most contact with mentors on the basic package is online, but I still feel like they know us really well and when we meet in person it doesn’t feel like the first time we’ve met. I 100% recommend this course. It has made so much difference to my autistic son.

I am now in my 2nd year of training with PAWS with my Assistance Dog in Training Louie. I highly recommend PAWS, their enthusiasm to help at all stages and beyond. They are a fingertip away when things are just not working, PAWS has a fast array of friendly trainers who can give professional advice and stear you in the right direction with 4 zoom calls a week with support for everyone and the hands on training sessions to prepare for the 3 levels if assessments so no one is left behind. You go at your pace and dogs pace but given professional guidance however you and your dog are doing.
DO IT sign up NOW you will not regret it.

I’m currently working through the PAWS programme with my cocker spaniel, Betty, and have found it incredibly insightful and informative. The course has given me a much better understanding of what will be expected of Betty as a therapy dog, while keeping welfare, safety and best practice at the heart of everything.

Although we’re still on our journey and haven’t fully started working with clients yet, I already feel much more confident about preparing for the role. The resources are easy to follow, well thought out and have really helped me appreciate the importance of introducing a therapy dog in a responsible and professional way.

I’m looking forward to continuing our journey together and would happily recommend the PAWS programme to anyone considering therapy dog work.

Such a wonderful community of mentors and fellow students who are passionate about learning how to train their dogs to become their assistant dogs. Training is explained by their wonderful teachers/mentors and when we do assessments it’s welcoming and supportive.

Absolutely loving the journey with PAWS!! The training videos, Facebook group and online support is so helpful and has really helped our journey go smoothly so far! I’ve loved the in person support sessions and just hearing other people struggle with adolescent dogs makes me feel less alone during the harder times! I cannot wait for our journey to carry on and improve with PAWS

We are absolutely loving our paws journey! The online sessions, Facebook groups, handlers are fantastic and so knowledgeable! Ronnie is loved so much in our school and even now on the start of our journey he is a big part of childrens life at Girnhill!

Really pleased with the guidance and support we have received at my school as one of our Teachijg Assistants and I have been learning and training alongside my beautiful labradoodle Bella-the-dog. Rachel (who’s visited school as our linked trainer) has been wonderful and really helped us work through how Bella can be a useful team member and how our staff and students need to be around Bella to ensure she’s comfortable and happy in school.
Another school in our Trust asked for my advice on bringing in a dog to their team and I have recommended PAWS to them.

An absolutely fantastic programme, with kind and supportive mentors, easy to follow videos for training and helpful weekly supervision sessions to chat about any problems or successes we have had in a last week. I would recommend this PAWs to anyone looking to train their dog to be a therapy dog.

Excellent training material and super supportive team with weekly supervision and quick responses to any queries. I have learned so much and my 2 Labradors passed their assessments at 12 months old and are now loving life as therapy dogs in schools, alternative provisions and care homes, making a real difference to so many people’s lives. Fab mentors that support you with big or small issues, offering ideas and fixing problems. I love the support session on a Thursday evening, chatting and supporting each other.

Lots of wonderful team members always ready to help you, it’s definitely a journey with a lot of ups and downs so having the support there waiting really helps.

I signed up for the programme before I picked Bodhi up when he was nine weeks old. It was absolutely the best move I could have made. The online course is great but the best bits are the weekly zoom meetings and the termly in person sessions when one of the PAWs teams (Rachel) comes into school to work with us. I cannot believe how much she knows and how well she teaches us - thanks to her I understand Bodhi so much better and he is going to be an incredible therapy dog. I would not want to be doing this without them and have already recommended the programme to another head teacher who was thinking of going it alone.

I signed up when Chester was 3 months old. Everything is explained so well and everyone involved with paws has been kind and supportive. I have unfortunately not been able to continue with the training for a while due to lots of things happening but I have not felt at all pressured to start up again, although the support has been there when I have checked in. I'm really looking forward to starting again.

I cannot fault PAWS. I started the course a few years ago, but then "life" unfortunately got in the way when my Mum became seriously ill and sadly passed away. There was no pressure to complete modules, in fact it was the opposite, I was actively encouraged to take a break and come back to the course when my "head was right".
I am back now & absolutely loving it again, and building an amazing relationship with my dog, Willow.
All of the tutors/assessors are extremely supportive (especially as I am also Neurodivergent) and explain everything in such a way that I don't feel stupid when I say I don't understand.

Very supportive and highly knowledgeable. The mentors show a high level of care and there is ongoing support. Positive based training, that also considers the dogs needs and the reason behind behaviours. Training is fun and engaging. The online community is so supportive.

I recently joined the programme a few months back and it has been the most amazing experience, everything is at your pace and there is no pressure, weekly live sessions, 1-2-1 zoom calls fortnightly, your own account to communicate with your mentor and lots more I 100% recommend

Having recently started the school program I am very pleased with how things are going so far. Myself and my pup Vinnie are throughly enjoying the whole experience as are the students in the school. Vinnie is attending school twice a week and already is a huge success. We know we have a long way to go yet but the support available from PAWS is second to none. They offered weekly zoom meetings and are always an email away if needed. The course is easy to access and allows you to go at your own pace.
