A huge disappointment
We tried to adopt an 8 month old dog called Bolt who looked absolutely lovely & started the application process. This entailed taking a video of both the inside and outside of our home & having it validated by an independent party. We also endured a telephone interview which lasted for over an hour & were asked many ambivalent questions to which even the interviewer stated there was no right or wrong answer. One of the questions she said that she had to ask was were either my partner or I, both male & in our 60's, pregnant! Having survived this somewhat gruelling "chat" we were eventually contacted by PPTF & said that we could adopt Bolt but only if specific alterations were made to our home of which they would require photographic evidence. One of these was a gate between the living room and conservatory. Why, when there are doors between the two rooms?! They also wanted us to ban any visitors until the dog had settled down & wanted our written agreement to this. Another gate was suggested for the kitchen door "so that the dog's world is small" & again as there is a closing door between the kitchen & the living room, I find this unfathomable. Following this list of demands I'm afraid I lost my patience & told them to withdraw the application & refund my deposit. I was reminded of the saying "if we can make it difficult.........". A complete waste of our time & energy & a negative outcome.

Fantastic charity
Fantastic charity, they really care for their dogs.
I have just adopted they made the process informative and engaging, keeping me in formed about my progress.
They have lots of support on hand to help which I have used to help me with my nervous but lovely puppy.
I highly recommend them from my experience:)

A year on…
It has been just over a year since a terrified, shivering, dirty-white little bundle of fur arrived on my doorstep. It was, of course, love at first sight as she lay on the sofa not daring to move so we took each day quietly and slowly! A year on I just have to give an update!
I live on my own…and from day one we have long ‘conversations’!
I swear she understands every word I say -her tail wags in all the right places!- her head goes from side to side as she stares at me, and I’m sure she’d love to say what she’s thinking!! (‘Silly old bat!’ maybe)!!
But what is so amazing is her intelligence and intuition. She knows if we (or I) are going out, a long while before it happens. How do I know? She lies by the front door! If I have a friend about to visit, how does she know to lie on the windowsill to warn me they’ve arrived?
If I’m going out on my own, she gives the ‘hangdog look long before I leave! There are many more examples and I find my saying in amazement ‘You understand every word, don’t you?’
Anyone else living with such a dog?
Because I’ve never had one like this before!
She just amazes me!

Pawprints to Freedom is a remarkable…
Pawprints to Freedom is a remarkable rescue group with a deep commitment to their dogs and the families they unite. From the outset of our adoption adventure, we felt both supported and guided with genuine warmth and professionalism from their team. They ensured the adoption process was seamless, taking the time to understand our family’s unique needs to find the ideal match. What truly impressed us was the continuous support provided even after our dogs arrived home. Yes, the dogs may need time to adjust and might be anxious after traveling for three days, but all of this is discussed beforehand, backed by plenty of support documents from the initial email of your adoption journey. Their passion for both animals and adopting families fosters a delightful sense of community. We are immensely thankful to Pawprints to Freedom for filling our lives with so much happiness and love. We wholeheartedly recommend them and have adopted three times because of their excellence!

Very smooth experience
From start to finish Pawprints To Freedom have been excellent throughout the whole process.
I have just adopted a six month old puppy, born in Romania and collected from their Essex kennels.
As soon as I saw Willow (formerly Cindy) I knew she was the dog for us. With two young grandchildren visiting regularly, she ticked all the boxes for me. My admin, Nancy, contacted me within two days of submitting the application form and talked me through the whole process, taking down all the relevant details about myself and my home.
After submitting two videos of my home and garden, I was contacted by Karen, who did my Home Check with me. It was very, very thorough and extremely helpful. I passed the Home Check after fitting a safety gate to the dog's safe space and showing that the door of the kitchen could be shut before opening the front door.
PPTF are on hand to advise should I have any problems. I find this so reassuring, even though Willow has settled into home life so easily.
The girls I met at the kennels, primarily Melissa at my first meeting, and Lucy when I collected Willow were very helpful.
I would thoroughly recommend PPTF if you're thinking of fostering or adopting a rescue dog. They are mostly volunteers who do an absolutely fantastic job in saving so many stray dogs and finding suitable homes for them.
Willow and I are very, very happy! 💓

Fantastic Charity, highly reccomended
Paw Prints to Freedom is a very diligent charity. At the heart of this establishment is a group of kind, well-meaning volunteers who have the best intentions and place the dogs ' well-being as their core directive. We just completed our home check, and I am incredibly impressed by how thorough and knowledgeable they are. Fantastic charity, and the people we have spoken to have been a credit to their organisation.

Fantastic dogs charity
I am very saddened to read some of the reviews people have written. I guess it happens that when people have an issue they are more likely to leave a review than when people are blissfully happy. This skews off everything. I feel it is very important to say this charity have been really helpful taking me through the whole adoption process without a hitch.
We have had our rescue girl (Buffy) for about over a year probably a year and a month. She was about 6 months old when we got her so it was probably all a bit overwhelming for her. She settled in almost immediately and took to our resident dog with no problems. She lets the two little girls next door pet her and I couldn’t be happier. (Recall would be cool 🤣🤣). A messenger group was set up by admin/volunteer and all the new doggie owners could check in on each other and share photos. Admin was there for at least a month to support people
(and Ricky Gervais endorses them. Lol)

Inflexible and intrusive home check process
This is a difficult negative review to write because the charity do so much great work. My review however concerns the home check procedure that Pawprints run in the UK and my aim is to highlight what I see is a flaw in that home check process and make other potential fosterers or adopters aware of this.
We foster for a number of UK dog rescue charities, some national and others small local charities. One of our current resident dogs is a failed foster (one we fostered, decided to keep and offer a permanent home). For all of those charities we work with and foster for, we have had home checks. Most have been physical home checks in person and more recently virtual. We have also carried out physical home checks for one of the charities for potential adopters. All charities have slightly different home check requirements but the one constant is they all quite rightly insist on checking anywhere the foster or adopter dog will have access to is safe and secure but they don't ever ask to see any area where a dog will not have access.
We had seen a dog locally to us in the UK where their owner is having to give up their dog for foster through Pawprints. We believed that we could potentially offer a perfect foster home to the dog and being local to us, this seemed a straightforward process of completing the home check and then potentially a meet and greet between our resident rescue dogs and the foster dog.
So far, so good.
The Pawprints home check is chargeable which is unusual as we have never been charged before. Nonetheless we paid our £20 fee and the home check started. This was a virtual home check, we were asked to provide video of our house garden and any outbuildings. We have a garage and shed, both permanently locked and none of our resident dogs ever have access. During the virtual home check call, the garage and shed were brought up and we were asked to show the interior of both despite us saying no dogs, ours included would ever have access.
Rather reluctantly we obliged and videoed live unlocking and showing the interior of our garage and shed, expecting this to be sufficient.
Sadly not so.
We were then contacted to say the home check team were now asking for two conditions to be met:
• Applicants to provide media for room behind wooden door upstairs Upload proof
• Safe space in garden room with gate in doorway Upload proof
The wooden door upstairs is our spare bedroom, the door is always closed and our resident dogs never have access, nor will any foster dogs. The spare room is kept ready for when my elderly mother comes to stay so we don't let any dogs in ever. We did explain this but apparently this was not sufficient and if we failed to meet this condition and photograph inside that spare room we would not pass the home check. We considered this request unreasonable, excessive and intrusive so on principal refused to provide a photograph inside the spare bedroom.
The second condition relates to a safe place for the foster dog. We have a large modern extension at the back of our house, the garden room. We have a doorway we can close in our kitchen to stop our resident dogs getting access to the garden room so giving the foster dog a safe place of their own. But apparently a closed door on its own was insufficient and we were also expected to install a fixed dog/child gate in the 1 metre opening in the garden room, clearly this was unreasonable and served no purpose if the doorway to the rest of the house could easily be closed.
Suffice to say we did not comply with the two conditions so not met the Pawprints home check criteria. The real shame here is that because of a complete lack of common sense by the Pawprints home check team and their totally inflexible interpretation of a home check process, a dog desperately needing a foster home is still waiting whilst we continue to foster elsewhere for other charities.
Pawprints to Freedom have been nothing…
Pawprints to Freedom have been nothing but excellent in supporting me fostering a dog with them. From the application to now (I have had my foster for 5 months) they have been in constant communication and provided endless support and guidance. They are an exceptionally kind and helpful charity and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough. I would recommend fostering/adopting a dog with them without hesitation.

Adoption process Having very poor response when trying…
Having very poor response when trying to adopt an older larger dog from the RSPCA and Dogs Trust we decided to give Paw Prints to freedom a go. Initially we were guided through the process by Karen. Following all the safety checks we were assisted in adopting a larger older dog from Rumainia. Ruby ( the adopted dog) has turned out to be one of the most delightful loving dogs we ever had. I can only compliment pawprints to freedom and in particular Karen for the support throughout the process. This lady has made us and an adopted dog very happy.

I would highly recommend this charity…
I would highly recommend this charity as they all work so hard to match rescue dogs who are in desperate need of a loving home. I adopted Bunny previously known as (Blossom) in May and I found the process thorough and friendly. I have to say a massive thank-you to Anne who was my admin throughout and she was amazing! She supported me and answered any queries I had and even stayed in touch after the adoption to see how we were getting on. Have to say Thankyou to the lady who did our video home check she was lovely too. And hats off to you all as they are all volunteers who give up their time to save lives.
I fell in love with Bunny the minute she arrived, she looks like a completely different dog! She came to me all matted and couldn’t see her beautiful eyes but after grooming her you could see she had one stunning brown and one blue eye. She has come on leaps and bounds. She had separation anxiety and I’ve done a lot of training with her to overcome this. I would definitely consider adopting from pptf again in the future and wouldn’t be without her she has settled in so well within our family x

Fantastic Experience
Fantastic experience with Pawprints2Freedom. My last rescue passed away last year and I'd been watching out for another rescue. I saw my little one in need of a home and everything online about Pawprints was very positive.
I got in touch and completed the forms. I had an online assessment with Karen C who was very professional and helpful. Answered all my questions and had some great advice.
I picked up Poppy (originally from Romania) from her foster carer in February and she's settled so well.
The website had a little older dog called Maxi who needed a home so in July, Maxi joined us from Romania. Staff keep in regular contact and always available for advice or support. Poppy and Maxi are best friends and have settled in wonderfully, can't imagine life without them.
A huge thanks to everyone at Pawprints To Freedom.

If you are willing to have every single…
If you are willing to have every single corner of your home, incuding bathroom and coat cupboards, and garden( I am OK with garden)videoed and sent, then have a home check interview performed by someone who does not even know what name, size or temperament of dog you have applied for, then you will be fine with these. Personally I felt it extremely intrusive, even to the point of having to video a room with my recently deceased husbands belongings in, even tho I had told them I was really uncomfortable. I halted the interview process when I refused to basically make my garden a no go area for visitors. I then took a vow never to adopt again despite having rescue dogs in the past and proper attended home checks, and would purchase a dog, but then called another rescue place and asked about their home check process before expressing an interest in a dog. Even they thought PPTF process excessive when I explained where I had failed. Anyway in conclusion I shall now be adopting a dog from another charity next week, so it's a loss for PPTF, but still I get a rescue.

A brilliant experience from start to finish. We have been incredibly impressed with pawprints to freedom and the amazing work they do in helping dogs find their forever homes. We have been supported in adopting a dog from Romania every step of the way and we can’t recommend pawprints to freedom highly enough. The volunteers we have had communicating with us esp Emma are so lovely. Thank you for giving us our amazing new dog which we can’t wait to give so much love to

Couldn’t be happier with our dog
We adopted our dog a few months ago now and we couldn’t be happier with our girl! We travelled to the kennels in Nantwich to meet some of the dogs available for adoption, where we immediately fell in love with our dog, who we were able to bring home on the same day since we had already passed our home check.
Our admin, Ash, was really easy to speak to; friendly, supportive, and always quick to respond. Even after the adoption, he has continued to check in regularly to see how we’re getting on. It’s clear that the best is wanted for both the dog and adopters.
We honestly have the most amazing dog because of Pawprints which we are so thankful for. She is happy, affectionate, intelligent and so loving. We couldn’t imagine our world without her now and we couldn’t love her more❤️

Dangerous dog, charity not bothered
Bringing van loads of dogs over from a foreign country in the middle of the night. No checks done on either the dog or the applicant. What kind of charity would let an elderly woman have another large dog when she's already got one???? Turns out this 2nd dog is aggressive, reactive, has bitten 2 people, attacked other dogs, pulled the lady over numerous times. She's had a visit from the police over one incident to which she told you about. This dog is dangerous and will hurt someone. The lady just makes excuses for the dog and this so called charity has done absolutely nothing. Disgusting.
