Good Movers, Appalling Management & Claims Handling
The two movers on the ground were excellent – efficient, careful with wrapping, and handled our items well, moving them smoothly between floors. They did a genuinely good job with the physical move itself.
However, my overall experience with Oz Wide Movers has been extremely disappointing due to their management and claims process. Our sofa sustained internal structural damage to a leg during the move, likely from an impact in a narrow outdoor area. Despite my clear explanation and photos, the company refused to accept liability. They conducted an internal "investigation" that dismissed my claim and offered a mere $50 as a "goodwill gesture" for significant damage to a sofa.
This response is insulting and shows a complete lack of accountability. A company's service includes how they handle issues, and Oz Wide Movers failed completely in this regard. I would not trust a provider that avoids responsibility and treats legitimate damage claims so dismissively. While the moving team was great, the management's approach was unfair and unprofessional.
I recommend a 2-star rating. While the moving team did a good job, the company's refusal to take responsibility for damage and their insulting compensation offer makes the overall experience very poor.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE, they delivered half my belongings to the wrong address, then just left my belongings there once they realised. I had to spend 2 days doing trips in my car to pick it up the belongings and had things stolen. My fridge plug was broken, dints in my dining table, several pot plants dropped, a broken chair and then on-top of all that charged us $900 + to move a 2 bed house of furniture and I'm a minimalist. NEVER EVER AGAIN

The team arrived on time, were friendly and helpful, and took extra care with our delicate tech equipment. They made sure everything, including our mattress, was well protected during the move.
Everything was handled efficiently, and all our furniture and appliances arrived in perfect condition.

Everything was damaged!
I don't like writing bad reviews but wish to share my experience in an effort to warn customers. I hope that this does not happen to anyone else.
We engaged Ozwide Movers to move us to regional QLD. Fixed price quote included goods and public liability insurance for any damage, shrink wrap protection, furniture disassembly and reassembly, as well as all the tools to ensure our goods were protected in transport (blankets, trolleys etc).
They were scheduled to arrive between 7-9am. Nobody had arrived by 9:30am. I called and they informed me that they were now scheduled to arrive at 12pm and had told me the wrong arrival time. They apologised and offered $150 compensation. Messed up my departure time but not the end of the world.
The movers then delivered my furniture the next day. 90% of the furniture was not covered with any protection, just thrown in a big pile. As you might expect, everything moving in a 7 hour truck drive resulted in a lot of our furniture being scratched and chipped. It's only cosmetic, but it would have been easy to avoid.
When the damage was highlighted to the movers, their response was "no that couldn't have been me". They simply would not entertain the possibility of any damage caused by them. Even where blankets were used to cover whitegoods, the metal prongs of the power cable were tied against the exterior such that they had badly scratched the outside of the fridge. Most of our wooden furniture is now chipped at the corners or badly scuffed. Road bikes were lying on the bed frame and have left chain oil everywhere.
The gents delivering the furniture expressed a general apathy towards the entire move and were clearly unhappy to be there for the length of time it took to move our furniture. Once everything was off the truck, they quickly got back in the truck and drove away without telling me they were leaving. No pieces of furniture were reassembled, and I am missing the Allen keys that I left for them to take the furniture apart.
I called the company to express my dissatisfaction. The two employees I attempted to speak to over the phone were not able to communicate in English unfortunately. When I asked to speak to someone who had better english, the manager got quite upset and called me racist. Racism is an abhorrent accusation and I'd hate to think anyone felt discriminated against during this interaction. Communication is vital in a situation like this and it was disappointing to hear that they felt I was being discriminatory by not understanding them. Despite an effort to resolve this miscommunication and reiterate the difference between race and language, the manager did not have an interest in considering he might have interpreted this incorrectly and was on the offensive.
They asked me to email photos of the damage and they would process it through their insurance - sure thing, that sounds like a fair resolution. They also asked me to not call them back ever again and not email them after this.
The email response?
"We have thoroughly reviewed all the photos you submitted and found no evidence of moving-related damage. Moving-related damages typically involve dents, chips, cracks, or other transport-related issues. The items you have highlighted show signs of normal wear and tear, which are consistent with the condition of used furniture
Additionally, our records indicate that one of our team members dismantled your bed upon your request but was instructed to leave it unassembled. While we stand by the quality of service provided and believe your claims for damages are baseless, we are willing to offer an additional $100 refund as a final gesture of goodwill, bringing the total refund to $250 (inclusive of the $150 already refunded). This offer is non-negotiable, and we will not entertain further attempts to alter this decision."

ABSOLUTELY AVOID OZ WIDE MOVERS - They Destroy Property & Deny All Blame!
If you're looking for a moving company that will take responsibility for damaging your valuables, look elsewhere. My experience with Oz Wide Movers on July 1, 2025, was nothing short of a nightmare, and their customer service since has been appalling. They are clearly trying to avoid any liability for pretty severe damage, and I want to warn everyone considering them.
My heavy-duty safe was utterly destroyed during the move – it looks like it was thrown around like a rag doll. On top of that, my television suffered impact damage, despite being meticulously wrapped in five layers of bubble wrap. A TV repair company confirmed the impact damage, making it clear this wasn't pre-existing or minor. We're now down over $6,000 due to their negligence, covering the cost of replacement for both items.
When I contacted Oz Wide Movers about this, their response was insulting. They tried to claim I was responsible for wrapping my own TV (which I was, but it was heavily protected), and then bizarrely suggested the damage happened after the move. For the safe, they actually tried to claim I was present when it was unloaded and raised no concerns – a flat-out lie, as I have proof I wasn't even there! They've dismissed the severe damage to my safe as "minor cosmetic" and "normal wear and tear."
Their solution? A "goodwill" offer of a measly $150, which they later bumped up to $300, still refusing to admit fault. This is for damages that will cost significantly more to replace and repair! It's evident they are doing everything they can to shirk responsibility for what their movers clearly did.
As a result, we are now seeking the full $6,000 in damages through our lawyers, who will be contacting Oz Wide Movers directly. We are also pursuing complaints with the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) because this level of negligence and refusal to acknowledge clear fault is unacceptable and breaches consumer protection laws.
I've attached photos of the extensive damage to both my safe and TV for you to see for yourselves. I've also included their dismissive email responses so you can read their ridiculous excuses and lowball offers firsthand. Don't make the same mistake I did. This company will damage your belongings and then try every trick in the book to avoid paying for it. Save yourself the stress and choose a reputable mover who actually cares about your property.

Like the other review noted, I ended up doing the work myself just to get it done; the worst moving experience I’ve ever had.
They just had no sense of urgency to get things done and seemed to have issues with how to pack their truck properly for a 2 bdrm apartment
