Have had Optimum Internet for years paying for 1 gig download. Get <50 Mbps. Have had tech come out to the house at least 5 times over the last 5 years. $80 each time to say they can’t figure out what the problem was, must be my high quality netgear router and higher quality Modem, which all work perfectly. The last time they came out the guy said the lines are so bad, I’m surprised you have any service. The next day a truck came out and worked on the lines for a good 8 hours. An Adminstrator called me and told me I needed to use their router modem, mine was no good. I told him I was not going to pay for it and a monthly fee. He agreed! Now I’m getting charged for the modem and monthly fee. Speed is good now after years of complaining and paying @ $1200 for high quality router modems myself and numerous techs with truck come out over the years. Now they say, well, you just need to pay the monthly fee. Nothing we can do????? Can I speak with your supervisor? No it’s just me… you will have to pay the monthly fee! They suck!

Sunday woke up to FOX not working on all six of my cable boxes. I did not call because they have outsourced that to a foreign country and after a long time getting there you will get someone who can barely speak English. I chose to use the chat finally got someone to answer after some transfers and after about 30 minuets FOX came back on whether he fixed it is subject.
I still had one box that the guide worked but no tv picture at all. I explained to the guy this was an old Suddenlink hd box and probably needed to be swapped out since the blue light would not come on. this is after 30 or 40 minuets of resetting the box hdmi. This about an hour and 10 mins after we started he suggested that he send a tech out to look at it. I asked how much that would be and he said free if it was Optimum fault or 60.00. I explained the last time they changed out a bad box the tech swapped an outside splitter so that we would have to pay the 60.00 even though all the other boxes worked out of the same spitter before he changed it.
He then replied it was a self help issue and I should take the box to the nearest location and swap it. That location is 63 miles for me to drive and not happening. How can a company be the only provider and have a location that far away makes no sense. He immediately dropped the chat but not before offering Optimum mobile service LOL. That is not happening.
I am thinking of driving to Tyler and billing them Mileage and time missed from work. I know they won't pay but I can a least take them to small claims court and maybe cause them to see what it is like to be treated like this. They have no customer service and are not close enough to provide it if they did.

After being a hold for 30 minutes, they hung up on me. And they always asked for my callback number, although I’ve been hung up on five times and nobody has ever called me back. I called back a week later to confirm my service was cancelled and I was told since I failed to reach the disconnection department that day that they were gonna bill me for another month, even though it was only seven days later. So again, conveniently, they dropped the call so they had to extend my billing? And as they promised to call me back if the call is dropped which they never have over 5 times now? I thought the customer was always right? I called to cancel. They told me they would cancel it. They waited a week and dropped my call and now they wanna bill me an extra month. But it’s no surprise. There is hundreds of horrible reviews regarding optimums customer service or lack of it on here. This is just one more they probably don’t give a crap.

Impossible to give a lower rating than 1 star. Internet constantly dropping connection. Customer Service chat techs are smart -alecks that threaten you if questions them. Infrastructure of the network here is ancient and should have been replaced long ago. Guess is 10+yr old equipment.
They do not want to provide better service only because there are no other options at this time, so they put the screws to their customers .

Only needed one line, but was talked into getting two lines and a bogo deal on 2 phones. Paid off the bogo deal early and was fined 200.00 for paying it off early. What a scam.

I had absolutely no problems with my Optimum representative in providing all the service & billing questions as as well as scheduling at first earliest date. Chad Marr represented Optimum. The installer, Benjamin Roberts, was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and kind. They both have pride and happiness in their work. The complete transaction was flawless. I did call Optimum customer service and spoke with Anan to verify the time/date. She was exceptional listener, patience and very helpful. She answered all my questions.
