I called to cancel for my father and got the run around for over two hours. they just kept transferring me and asking the SAME questions over and over and over and over. not kidding!!!! it was absolutely miserable. no way to do business at all!!!! now i'm about to go through the same thing for myself and i'm dreading it!!! they won't let you cancel online!

Due to moving, I had to cancel my Internet service. I had to talk to three customer service persons until the last person got the cancellation done for me. The first two persons hanged up on me after he could not convince me to keep the service while the house is on the market. It took over an hour to get it cancelled.

I would leave 0 stars if it was an option. This all began in June when I tried to cancel cable/internet. This is all I will say...it is now end of August, account is still not cancelled, and I have been on hold for hours trying to find out why (aside from the fact that I was told that the original Optimum agent did not complete their task correctly). And they have continued to bill me. I can further bore you with more details, but it is ridiculous. Do yourself a favor and choose another provider....and if you go with Optimum, please remember this review when you try to cancel....and remember "I told you so". The amount of my time that has been wasted on this is frustrating, and the higher-ups at Optimum should also know that they are wasting the time of their employees with their policies and procedures (unless their job is to trap you and take you in circles). It is no surprise that their rating on all review channels are in the ballpark of 1-star.

Internet goes out every time it is cold. When calling their non-existent "customer service", only advice is to restart the modem, which I already did 10 times, and which does nothing. The third time, they finally made a service appointment...in 7 days. That did it. after 3 years of suffering from slow, unreliable service (1G is really about 150 MBs), switched to a slightly more expensive fiberoptic competitor, installed in 2 days. Finally, useable internet...something Optimum will not provide.
Optimum is a racket, class action needed.
