Great experience! Pricing is on point and the website is so user friendly. No question goes unanswered.

This insurance company is immoral and greedy. We had a hail storm in Phoenix and had three different companies evaluate our roof. They went through the proper channels with Openly and stated that there was extensive damage to the roof from the storm. Openly came back and stated that the damage was not as a result of the hail but damage over time. They then went on not only to deny the claim, but stating that if we did not fix the roof they would not renew with us. They also made it clear through insurance channels to other companies, preventing us from getting coverage elsewhere without paying out of pocket to fix our roof. The greed of these companies has zero bounds.

Site works well and I’m happy pricing for our area has come in line.

I love the quoting system. Very easy to use. I love that Coverage A is always "Up to 5 million". I love the rates. I'm a fan of Openly, and glad to have it in my arsenal! Also, Kiley is a gem to work with, and very good at what she does! Keep up the good work, ya'll!

Easy use of technology

Openly does make quoting easy. I wish the rates would come down slightly. Otherwise, easy and dependable.

Most of the positive reviews for Openly relate to how easy the onboarding process was, how simple the customer setup was, and so on. Yes, that is completely true. Openly staff are experts at quickly bringing you on as a new customer. They are also experts at quickly and easily taking your monthly check. The problem is when you have a legitimate insurance issue... because they are also experts at not paying the claim. This has been our firsthand experience with them (roofing issue caused by a storm event on Cape Cod, $150,000 in interior and exterior damage, validated as a 100% legitimate insurance claim by a range of subject-matter experts). Like many other reviews stated, Openly uses immoral and unethical tactics to push back on and ultimately not pay the claim, and then terminate the homeowner relationship. Net-net, they are wonderful at taking your money and a complete disaster when it comes to stepping up and paying out. Avoid them at all costs.

I would give them 0 stars but it is not an option… switched Openly in April… at least tried to…. After signing the agreement they did nothing to communicate with me or my broker… I received a random phone call and voicemail from an inspector that was either drunk or high rambling on about needing to speak with the church holder when he does an inspection…it made zero sense and sounded like a bad scam… I texted with the person and they apologized for their “confusing voicemail” and said they needed to do an inspection for my insurance. I had not been contacted about this or had my broker, and with the nonsensical voicemail, I was skeptical of this was legit. I let the “inspection agent” know that openly needed to contact me to confront at this point this was legit and until they confirmed him / his company was legit, he was not permitted on my property. He assured me he would have openly contact me to confirm… this never happened.

A few weeks later I received a termination letter . I immediately contacted the broker who reached out to Openly. They said this was because of no inspection, took zero responsibility for their part, and said if we rescheduled the inspection my policy would not be cancelled.

My broker put in the request and shared info about the inspection provider. I contacted them to make sure an inspection was scheduled , which they let me know I didn’t need to formally schedule or be present for, and an inspector would come by in the next few weeks.. I relayed this to my broker and they let me know no other action was needed by me at this time, they would let me know if Openly communicated any other requirements.

A month later Openly cancelled my policy… because an Inspection never occurred. My broker pushed back and had plenty of documentation to show we did what we needed to so the inspection could occur… Openly then said because there was “siding damage” (which there is not) and “clogged gutters “ they would not reinstate my policy… somehow they found about these supposed issues without ever doing an inspection.

Moral of the story - garbage insurance company that has zero ethics or integrity. Pass on these idiots, they are definitely a “take your money and run” business that does not believe in accountability for themselves

Openly is easy to use and offers great coverage options for our customers.

Great coverages and fast, easy quoting and binding process. I really love that agents do not need to complete the RCE. I understand why Openly wants to collect payment in full, however, it would be great if they offered a 4 pay plan or alternative to make our binding % higher.
