For over 40 years, I have frequented Oliviers through their various staff and family owners. I can give as many stars as there are because they have never let me down. The staff always treat you with respect and helpfulness without being pushy, and Paul, the owner, is consistent with his cheerfulness, which evidently rubs off on his staff—an A-rated local business.

We bought a pair Parker Knoll sofas from here almost five years ago and recently have had a couple of issues with them. A wire is poking out of one and the seams are coming apart on the seat and back cushions.
Shane has been absolutely amazing, he’s arranged for an engineer from Parker Knoll to call and repair the wire and he has collected the cushions from our house and returned them after they’ve been repaired by Olivier’s upholsterers at their own expense. It’s not the first time we’ve bought from them and definitely won’t be the last! A brilliant local family business where the customer actually matters, I can’t recommend them highly enough.

We bought a sofa from the Barnard Castle store recently. Not only are we very happy with the product but what a pleasant, helpful company to deal with, everything from odering to payment and delivery done as promised and on time. This was a marked contrast to dealing with Barker aand Stonehouse- see separate review.
