Many scammers on that site.

Many scammers on that site. The ones running the site are also scammers. As many reviewers before me have stayed they will delete your account for no reason. I reported suspicious activity of a seller who was a scammer and that was their response.

I purchased an item from a seller…

I purchased an item from a seller because my wife had lost her watch. The following morning, my wife was contacted by someone in her office that her watch had been found. I immediately contacted Offerup and the seller to inform them and to request that the transaction be canceled. I was informed by the customer service agent that since the item hadn't shipped that I would get a refund and they would cancel my order. (I have a screenshot). Three hours later, I received a notification that the seller had shipped the item against my request to cancel three hours earlier. I contacted OfferUp, and they are not responding to my concern! They just want to make money and not support their customer base. Very shady and unprofessional of them 100%. I do understand that it is not the sellers fault that the watch was found but I gave him and OfferUp ample notice of my request to cancel!

Look at the date of their reply! Three and a half months later just like their delayed response when I contacted them about the issue. So awful!

Just a quick note: you can withdraw your shipping offer anytime before the seller accepts it.

For "Buy Now" transactions, or if the seller has already accepted your offer, there's nothing more you need to do! Just hang tight until the transaction cancels itself.

If your offer has been accepted, it's a good idea to message the seller and explain your situation. This helps prevent them from shipping the item. If they haven't shipped it within five days, no worries— the transaction will automatically cancel, and you'll get your money back!

Unfortunately, OfferUp Customer Service can’t cancel transactions for buyers since we can’t stop the seller from shipping the item. But if all else fails and the seller does send it, you can always work out a return for a refund.

My account was flagged by mistake

My account was flagged and they did not give me a reason. I contacted support and questioned why? I knew I did not violate any of their policies. They finally replied, my account had been flagged by mistake. SO far I have spent almost 2 weeks just to get my account activated. All of my listings were deleted, so I had to re-create them. Now the app is showing I have 2 messages in my Inbox. I open the inbox and there are NO MESSAGES. Do yourself a favor, don't use this app, it is crap.
Dear offer up, I read your reply and it's as lame as your app.

In my opinion & what I experienced is sneaky to me & written in a way that makes them win, of course. They give you 3 day's free to advertise, but you have to decline any further transactions before the 3 day's are up or if not, they will hold you to a 3 month contract where they remove around $22.00 per month from your bank. In my case after signing up, I was not allowed to upload pics for my ad. They sent me an email stating I didn't follow procedures properly & cancelled my ad, so I got no value from there site, but yet they took $44.00 from my account. I contacted my bank to tell them to cancel any further attempts to get money! To me theses creeps are crooks & as you can see by the reviews here, are going to be out of business soon. The businesses in this country have turned into dishonest crooks & the Government could care less.

It looks like you've signed up for a 3-day trial. If you don't cancel, you'll be billed monthly. Once you've purchased a promotion, you can't cancel it, but you can request a refund after it expires. Please keep in mind that refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed. If you're using an Apple device, we're unable to process refunds for Apple (iOS) users. Your promotions are paid through your iTunes account, and you'll need to reach out to Apple directly for a refund.

Worst experience ever.

This experience I'm referring to has been easily the worst customer service experience I've had. Ever. A few months back I got a notice email from OfferUp telling me I'm kicked off. For good. I wasn't even aware that was ever na option. I mean what could be so bad that they'd just totally remove someone from their platform that isn't TRUMP or any of his family members?? So I did what anyone would do. I looked up their customer service number. Which was maybe the second worst experience I've had. It's like they know how much they suck and make it so hard to get them to talk or fix your issue. Once I was given their Cs contact info I sent an email via their request form detailing the whole situation. A week later I got another very generic reply pretty much like the very first one. I was found to have violated their policy. I simply wanted to know how. So at the least I could make sure I am not doing that again or on a diff site. But they wouldn't even allow me to contact them. Why? U guessed it, they sent me the same generic nonsense alert that I violated their terms. What really makes me mad tho is if they'd had just taken five mins to talk they would have found out that my account had been hacked and I was in the middle of na identity theft situation at the same time. They had made purchases, went out to eat, bought flat screens and laptops. They even used my name and credit to join like ten dating and porn sites all using my info. So it was obvious to me who was the culprit that charged two diff months subscription to offer up for May and June 10th. I was not even aware that they offered paid services. I always just used it like Craigslist. Now, after attempting to get their attention for the tenth time to get the 2 $19.99 charges refunded to my account. They still have yet to respond. Honestly I'm at a loss here. How can I dispute the charges and get refunded if they won't allow me on their platform to use their help and Cs options?

They are very greddy company I can see that’s why their reviews are the worst

I've used offerup for years and it's not even worth my time anymore

I've used offerup for years, but as of...I'd say personally 8 years ago, it's gone to garbage. 90 percent of my sales, people completely flake, say they're coming to pick up item and then just zero communication after that. You cannot get a hold of any support or chat for offerup, so it's just a huge waste of time. Every now and then you will get a legit buyer. But it used to be so much more solid. As far as buying goes, I wouldn't know I don't buy off of offerup, hopefully peolle aren't taking advantage. But I wouldn't be surprised. Ebay had also taken a turn for the worst for selling at least. Offerup though I wouldn't recommend.

I have used it for years and had 100s of listings. Literally, every item I posted on OfferUp was also posted on Nextdoor, Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist wth NO issues.
Today, out of the blue, they just DELETED my account, which took countless hours to set up all the ads with numerous photos and descriptions!
I asked why, and here's their pathetic non-response:
"OfferUp reserves the right to remove items or profiles at its own discretion with or without previous warning or education efforts.

Any pending offers have been canceled and funds released back to the method of payment. It may take up to 10 days for pending authorizations to disappear or for refunds to fully process. If it has been longer than 10 days, please reach out to your financial institution.

Please be aware that opening a new account once your account has been removed is not allowed.Thank you,
OfferUp Support"

**They replied below that I had MULTIPLE cannabis products for sale. NOT true!! I had one ad for over- the-counter Medterra gummies, which I also listed on Facebook, Craigslist and Nextdoor without issue! NOT illegal in ANY state!🙄Still, they DELETED my account with hundreds of other listings. I stand by my review😡

It seems that your account was deactivated because you had multiple listings for cannabis and cannabis-derived products (such as CBD). These items are not permitted for posting on the OfferUp platform.

Alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and related products are often subject to regulatory restrictions and may be illegal for sale in some cases. Since we cannot ensure that users comply with the laws and regulations, and we are unable to enforce the various legislations, we do not allow these items to be sold.

I was banned for reporting all the scammers. I saw some scammer had many accounts. SO i made many new fake disposable accounts and i proceeded to troll and drive the remaining few good buyers and sellers crazy.

Dealing with Anton Booker from Breeze Home Warranty (Appliance World Plus) in Georgia sold me a refrigerator that never worked, and made it impossible to keep in touch with him.
I sent Offer Up multiple communications and haven’t heard anything from them either.

Waste of time

Offer up used to be good but now it's trash. Individual spend 100 percent of time down bidding your firm price offer. Just a waste of time.

This is one of the worst apps ever Stay Clear of them

This is one of the worst apps ever. When it used to be LET GO it was a good platform. NOW ...There is no one that will help you when you have questions. You cant talk to anyone at the customer service. If you do send a request you will get someone on a low tear that has no authority to help resolve any issues. They are like bots and just respond with and excuse that you are stupid and have no respect for you. They are hired to just respond to any tickets they get but cant resolve any matters. They are worst than Xfinity. I give Xfinity now 3 stars at lease they have better communication skills than these chumps. I have asked them to fix my account for 2 weeks and I cant login there server is not sending me codes.Their reply was Your email is wrong, your phone number is wrong, Your computer is no good...etc they make no attempt to fix anything. Just excuses that you don't know what your doing. Stay clear of this place.

Run, don't walk away from OfferUp

Don't take just this one guy's opinion for it. Just look at what you are agreeing to when use the site. The terms and conditions go so far beyond buying and selling goods that it is shocking.
Followup: I received a reply a reply from OfferUp. It was computer generated. No mention of my name or any review details. Bottom line- nobody actually reads your review and the company provides zero customer service.

Steer Clear

Any app that REQUIRES most users to upload a government issues photo ID and allow for an uploaded facial scan is downright ridiculous. With the incidents of data hacks and breaches on the rise, would you want your drivers license and biometrics stored anywhere? And for what? Just to purchase something? This is an example of going way too far. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Offer Up. Yes they will say it’s to verify identity to maintain a “safe and more trusted “ shopping experience. What about when that information is hacked and thieves have all your personal information and biometrics like your facial scan. No thank you. Stick with reputable sites like eBay.
