The firm carried out a very thorough and professional pest-control procedure. We were extremely pleased with the service and would certainly recommend the firm to anyone experiencing pest problems.
Shaun came out for a serious wasp nest we had in our roof. He sorted out the nest. Great friendly service and came back a week later to check and sort remaining stragglers! We’ve used Shaun previously for an ant issue in the home, also sorted, good knowledge!

An Extremely reliable, courteous and professional company.
I have called up a couple of times for pests including a wasp nest which was treated efficiently and quickly and followed up to check.

Brilliant! Found a wasp nest in my roof and they came out so fast and solved it straight away. Had another in the lawn and my dog got stung, again they came out fast and sorted it. Makes me feel relieved to know they are there to be called on.

I have dealt with Oakham Pest Control many times and cannot fault them at all.
They have dealt with a wasp nest and a mouse infestation over the years and recently came and filled in a mouse hole for me .
Shaun and Paul are very professional.
They are always polite and will give guidance to any concerns.
I would recommend them to anyone who has issues with pests .
When you call them they will send a text message to say when you are booked in and will text before their arrival.
To help control mice around my property I now have a contract with the company.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.
On arrival to our property, we asked them to come inside after dealing with the outside issue. They completely ignored the request and just left. I then called them afterwards and explained that there was a wasp nest inside the building, they instructed me that they have been told not to come in. This was a lie.
They then lied again and said that the nest inside would be dealt with by the fact that they had dealt with the nest outside – despite having no comprehension of where the nest was inside the house.
My opinions were ignored and invalidated.
In the next four days the ceiling would collapse – because of a wasps nest in the exact place I knew it was. Wasps having pushed through the ceiling.
Hundreds of wasps cascaded down through the ceiling made by the wasps, onto my cousin - who is allergic to wasps.
And in the room next door to my nursery, in which my one-year-old was sleeping. Hundreds of wasps.
On arrival the following time round they dealt with the correct nest. Although i would say A little late as my cousin was dealing with multiple stings to her scalp. And I had told them of this issue over a week ago.
The next time they came round, to follow up - I had wrongly assumed they would come with an apologetic nature. I can understand we are all humans and make errors. However, this put two of my family members in serious danger - one of which is a baby, so I would expect a pretty large apology. At the very least.
This was not given to me – in fact they were rude and ignored my opinions yet again. All of which is recorded on my door bell camera. Upon leaving the property then promptly called my husband. Who obviously has the same opinion as me.
Truly incompetent, rude and with a large sprinkle of sexist behaviour. Deeply upsetting that a company you trust can put your children and family under such risk and have no care.

We take concerns about our service seriously, but there are several points in this review that require clarification.
Firstly, the person posting this review was not our client. Our client was the landlord, who instructed us, authorised the work and was responsible for payment. Although this review has been posted under an account named “Neil”, the comments clearly relate to the tenant’s experience and conversations with us at the property.
Our original instruction from the landlord was to treat one wasp nest at the rear of the property. No second internal wasp nest had been reported to us by our client or included within our instructions.
We later returned regarding a separate mouse infestation. Again, no second wasp nest was raised with us through our client as an outstanding issue.
All jobs, instructions and visits are recorded on our digital system. There was no second internal nest logged or instructed to us at that stage. Had the landlord instructed us to investigate or treat a second nest, we would of course have done so as additional work.
The first time we were made aware of an emergency involving the internal nest was when we received a call informing us that wasps had broken through the ceiling.
Given the situation, we attended as an emergency without waiting for prior landlord authorisation and treated the nest.
We therefore strongly dispute the suggestion that we knowingly ignored a previously reported internal nest.
We were later asked by the landlord to return because of concerns about continued wasp activity. We also intended to check the progress of the mouse infestation.
Unfortunately, when we arrived, a disagreement arose regarding what had previously been reported and what we had actually been instructed to deal with. We explained that our instructions came from the landlord and that we had no previous record of the second nest being reported to us through our client.
The conversation ended when we were told the matter would be taken down a legal route and the door was closed. As a result, we were unable to inspect either the ongoing wasp situation or the mouse infestation.
We subsequently attempted to telephone the tenant’s husband to discuss the situation, but the call was not answered.
We also completely reject the descriptions of our conduct as “rude”, “incompetent” or “sexist”.
At no point were any comments made, decisions taken or actions carried out based on gender. The disagreement related solely to the scope of work, what had been reported to us and the instructions we had received from our client. We would have dealt with the situation in exactly the same way regardless of who we were speaking to.
We fully appreciate how distressing the wasp incident must have been, particularly with a young child and a person reported to have an allergy present.
However, we attended the work we were instructed to undertake, and when the internal nest was first brought to our attention as an emergency, we attended and treated it promptly.
We are always prepared to take responsibility where we have made an error, but we cannot accept responsibility for an additional pest issue that had not previously been reported or instructed to us through our client.
Excellent service. Very quickly came out and dealt with the wasp nest in my attic. Was over and done with in just 25 minutes.
£100+ VAT does seem steep for a bit of powder spraying but.. the job is done and wasps stopped buzzing after less than 1 hour. Problem was solved easily.
Pest control has been one expensive due to the risk of getting hurt or stung or climbing up ladders. Oakham Pest. Control text me before they came too. I knew exactly when and who was coming.
