Locks you out of all your documents until you pay
I have been using Novoresume for several months with a premium account, paying to work on and refine my resumes.
However, now that I stopped paying, I cannot download them anymore. I have to upgrade to a premium account to get access to my resumes. It seems like a ransomware tactic to me.
I do not want any premium feature anymore, I just want to download the resumes I made and close my account, and it won't let me do that.
Edit: Frankly, I did not understand Novorésumé's answer. I am not asking for a refund and never did. I am only asking to download at least ONE of my CVs as a PDF, without the requirement to pay the premium package one more time. It’s completely fine if I cannot use any of the premium features, or if I cannot edit my resumes anymore. That’s not what I’m asking.

Our commitment to students: We offer one of the most generous free tiers in the industry specifically because we understand students' financial constraints. Our Basic plan provides unlimited free access to create, edit, and download resumes - no hidden fees, no time limits. This represents 95% of our platform's functionality, available forever at no cost.
Regarding our billing: We actually don't have auto-renewal - you choose to purchase 1, 3, or 12 Premium months of access upfront. This is specifically designed so people only pay when they actively choose to use our service. Like any purchase, once you've bought and used the service period, refunds aren't available for buyer's remorse (first 14 days are an exception). This is clearly stated in our terms of service.
Why this policy exists: We're a small team providing a valuable service. Our free tier already operates at a loss to support students and job seekers. If we refunded every subscription after the service was already used, we simply couldn't continue offering our extensive free features or maintain the platform.
We notice this is your second review about the same April incident - we already responded to your first review on April 2nd explaining our policy. We encourage anyone reading to try our comprehensive Basic plan first - it's genuinely free and might be all you need. Exploiting
Last month, I paid for this service and used it only once to download my resume. Now, after a month, I just want to update my email address on the same resume, but the system is not allowing me to make even small changes. I haven’t added any new content—just a minor update.
The issue is that even after being a paid customer, the platform is still charging again at the time of download. Charging customers for new templates or additional features is understandable, but in my case, this feels unfair. I already paid ₹1300 just to download my resume once, and now for even a small edit after a month, I’m being asked to pay again. This seems more like exploitation than a fair service

When your Premium subscription expires, we don't automatically charge you again, instead, your account transitions to our Basic (Free) plan and we also host all your documents/information for Free. This is similar to how a Netflix subscription works: once it expires, you can still access your account and basic features, but premium content requires reactivating your Premium account. In your case, if your resume uses Premium templates or features, the system requires an upgrade to download it again.
However, we have solutions for you: You can either switch any Premium elements (like templates or advanced features) to Basic alternatives and then download your updated resume at no extra cost, or you can edit your current PDF directly using any standard PDF editor like Adobe Reader, since our resumes export as text-based PDF files. This would allow you to update your email address without any additional charges.
