Unfortunate experience with Northstar
Unfortunate experience with Northstar. They forgot our TV and we had to go back and get it ourselves. We take responsibility that we should have triple checked everything but moving day is stressful and we trusted it would be done. When booking they said large items like sofas, TV and bed would be packaged by their movers but the TV was not. They reassembled our bed completely wrong and even left screws on the floor but the director now a month after the move has said he can send someone to fix it which is of no use to us as we fixed it ourselves. They also damaged our bed, mattress and TV unit and we are awaiting confirmation from the insurers. They asked for more money from us at the end despite it being within the 3 hour time slot (Paulina called to ask for more money and we have proof of this. We declined but said as a compromise we would tip the drivers which we didn’t feel comfortable doing and was not exactly voluntary but we did it just to get the job finished). We even moved most of the boxes out into the hallway for them to make it easier as we recognise the stairs are challenging and wanted to make it as smooth as possible.
I have now received an email threatening to sue me for defamation if I don’t delete this review. This review is completely truthful and honest of my experience therefore I will not be deleting it.

You also kindly rated our team as “very professional and completed all in good time” and chose to tip them.
Your concerns were referred to our insurers for independent investigation, and on 7 October 2025, Arch Insurance (UK) Ltd formally repudiated your claim, confirming that Northstar Removals was not responsible for any damage and that all goods were delivered in good condition.

Great experience. An experienced and caring company - highly recommended!
My wife and I wanted a service that understood that we were moving our life of 16 years and that as busy professionals we would not be able to be as hands on as we would have liked. From the first phone call after our enquiry everything was professional and courteous. The home-visit (far better than a zoom call offered elsewhere) meant that we could talk through our property and where extra care was needed.
The quote was competitive and covered various versions of removal. We opted for them to pack/disassemble/deliver/reassemble. We were blown away once the moving process started.
They came for a pre-packing day and worked tirelessly and did most of the property and then on the moving day they sent an even larger team who were wonderful and funny at the same time. They double checked all special items, clarified any point and move everything with precision.
At the other end they put boxes in rooms as needed, reassembled furniture and kept everything clean and tidy even after the rain started pouring down mid-move.
I can't thank them enough for their work.

I wish to especially thank Mason, Victor and Darryl for a seamless moving day. They were Professional, polite and happy at all times. Everything was transported efficiently and arrived without a single scratch or any damages. They built my new bed from flat pack, which I have to say is an extra service that Northstar offer, that for me was invaluable. I will without a doubt be using them again for my next move.

North Star - 5 star plus
Denis should be very proud of his company. We moved a long distance from London to the Newcastle area over a 3 day period. All the staff were very professional and nothing was too much trouble for them. They made a difficult move run smoothly, from pre-arranging and booking prior to the move, packing, loading and delivering, the service we received was outstanding.
If it was possible we would rate them 5 star plus
