Amazing spa

Amazing spa
I have been several times and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s clean, staff are friendly and selection of pools is great. Salad bar has a great selection of food. It can get busy but there is always plenty of space in each of the rooms to sit and relax. Would recommend.

Noisy, too busy and no longer a tranquil haven

I have been a member of Nirvana Spa for over 20 years. For much of that time it was a haven of tranquillity that I really enjoyed. After covid, Nirvana increased my membership fee by 43% which I could not afford, so I changed to a 6 evenings per year membership. Since then, I have visited three times and have not enjoyed the experience. The place is now very noisy with more groups who are mainly not there for a tranquil time and far too many people. You now must book a slot for the restaurant and then stand in a long queue with the others booked for the same time slot. The service is slow, and I spent most of my time trying to attract the attention of a staff member. They no longer provide newspapers and magazines (unless you want to view them online – I go to get away from tech) I used to visit early mornings when you could enjoy a peaceful time with not too many people. The evenings are very crowded and loud, and I expect it will get worse when the hotel opens. It now feels that it is just all about making money rather than providing an enjoyable experience. The facilities are very good and I’m sure people who visit occasionally, and especially the large groups, will enjoy the experience. Sadly it’s no longer a place I can enjoy.

We are resolutely committed to providing you with the best facilities and service for your relaxation and wellbeing. We strive to manage numbers carefully and do not allow groups of more than 6 to book together to preserve a tranquil environment.

Two years ago we raised our prices inline with our competitors to reflect the facilities and services we offer. Since then our costs, have increased considerably and we have needed to ensure our pay is competitive to attract and retain staff who will offer you the best possible service. These investments required a small rise in your membership subscription this year. We are sorry that our spa no longer meets your needs, if you would like to discuss in more detail please do not hesitate to speak with a member of the management team.

Heaven!

Had such an amazing day at Nirvana. The facilities are all super clean, the staff are helpful, the food is fabulous, treatments relaxing… what more could you ask for! No other spa compares in my opinion and I’ve been to a fair few 😂

Amazing spa and experience

The venue is amazing, the staff are so friendly and the food is lovely, so many lovely rooms to pick from and the pools look so inviting. The best spa I have ever visited.

Staff are not knowledgeable

Staff are not knowledgeable and incompetent on contract terms. We signed up to an annual package and it became apparent that we wouldn’t be able to use up all our visits before the annual date. The reception woman told us the left over visits would roll over to next year and we could use it after the date. She failed to tell us that we would need to repurchase another annual package in order to use these rolled over visits. We then went to use up our final visits this evening and was declined and told that we should have read the small prints in the contract despite previously confirming with staff. They told us we can pay 25 pounds per person on the spot in order to use up the visits which we have already paid for. The manager was not even polite enough to come out of the staff room to speak to us (we didn’t ask by the way). I am 6 months pregnant and was basically turned away because staff were not trained on the detail of membership. I am very disappointed.

Genuine review - overcharge and incompetent staff do not refund

Note this is a genuine review. I paid for this day spa for my wife as a gift for womens day.

Writing this review as it's the sixth time I have chased Nirvana Spa to refund their £32.50 overcharge given it is already nearly one month it's pretty astonishing. Their customer service is really amateurish.

The food available is disappointing, the spa and waters are all great though. At least the facilities were good.

The frustrating thing is the reception team charged our card four times. They all sounded very confused when I spoke with them, like they hadn't used a card payment machine before. Then they even called me after telling me I owed them £12.50 - maybe they dialed the wrong person?

Then someone in "Feedback" refunded only two of the over-payments, leaving one overcharge not yet refunded.

I wrote to the CEO Mr Sean Barley at Nirvana Spa and he never replied.

Today I received an email from "Operations" asking me to check my bank statements and provide them evidence of the £32.50 outstanding.

For a luxury place, I expect them to be competent, capable, organised, professional.

I don't work for Nirvana Spa - why am I the one who needs to keep sending screenshots of my credit card statement. I checked, and it is outstanding, but why should I convince their finance staff. Can't they hire some competent staff who can check their own bank statements? Or check the till roll for the receipts from their overcharge?

It doesn't create a good impression, Nirvana Spa is a customer service disaster.

Good day in spa - treatment area not so much

I booked the All Day ‘Simply Relaxation’ with some friends. The day is fairly reasonable given unlimited soft drinks & teas / coffees, plus lunch. You can keep changing your robes & towels. I was glad I got there at 9am (could go in from 8.30) as queues after 9.30 were long. In the locker rooms after 10.30 people were struggling to find a locker. The staff serving drinks etc were very polite & friendly. Lunch was tasty, we chose the 2 courses over the buffet. There are a few pools to choose from. It was very busy (we went on a Thursday), but we did manage to get a bed when we needed one.
The part that put a damper on the day was I’d also booked a massage (booked in Feb, went in Mar). When I arrived for my massage towards the end of the day to the treatment area they told me I was late & there was nothing they could do for me. They were very stand offish & I was made to feel it was my fault I was late. However I showed my booking which clearly showed what time I’d booked (& I was on time). I was told “oh someone must have changed it” - not helpful when I hadn’t been informed. I had to ask if they were going to refund my massage I’d already paid for (would have expected to be offered rather than having to ask). When I left the spa on the day they wouldn’t refund me & said I had to wait a few days. Not sure why it couldn’t be actioned there & then, they were happy to charge me for the drinks we had but not offset the refund as a result of their error.

Very enjoyable

Very enjoyable, relaxing experience. Only problem was the on line booking which was not accepting 2 people to book together meaning that I had to telephone immediately in order to get in the same session as my companion and I was on hold for over an hour before I got through.

Best Monday morning EVER!!!!!

I never come away from Nirvana disappointed. It is a an amazing sanctuary I recommend to everyone. The Celestial Pool is like floating in the stars.

Very disappointed with the salad bar

Very disappointed with the salad bar. Some of the dishes needed replenishing some of the dishes looked as though they had been untouched and left for hours.
