Mick maycock performed my two replacement lenses for me due to having cataracts. I had the first replacement in April 2023. And the second replacement in July 2023. I recieved excellent care from Mr Maycock and a successful operation. He has given me my sight back. An exceptional eye consultant he put my mind at ease and was very reassuring. Very professional. Prior to the surgery on my first eye, I was very, very apprehensive and anxious. Infact, I requested a hand hold during the operation. However, Nick's calm manner and focus on me as an individual put me at my ease. The procedure was swift and interesting rather than uncomfortable. At the end, I was greatly reassured to hear the operation had gone very well.
When the time came for my second operation, I was calm, relaxed and delighted to hear Nick would be my surgeon. Nick was again very thorough, examining every aspect of my health to ensure nothing had changed or was overlooked.
The results of the operation are outstanding! Not only regarding the amount of light and the brightness of colour but textures too. I would have no hesitation in recommending Nick Maycock to anyone needing eye surgery.

On the day Mr Maycock introduced himself, explained the procedure and put me at ease. He then kept me informed throughout the surgery.

The results were/are amazing. The colour spectrum changed and the world is a brighter and more colourful place. My night vision improved dramatically and 30 years of wearing glasses, is in the past.

Initially I was apprehensive due to surgery on my eyes, however having discussed extensively I was put at ease by the surgeon Mr Maycock and am very pleased with the results.

Mr Maycock was very person centred and professional he took time to introduce himself and explained the procedure before the surgery and answer any questions or concerns I had . While in the theatre he talked through what he was doing reassuring and checking out if I was ok . The surgery did not take long and my recovery has been good .

Nick is careful, thorough and unrushed. great results and no problems afterwards.

I was, quite naturally, nervous about the cataract operation needed on both eyes, but the surgeon, Nick Maycock, made me feel so relaxed each time, explaining clearly all that would happen in the operation and the elements involved in the recovery period to follow. At first I was very apprehensive about having any surgery to my eyes. However Nick Maycock put my mind at rest and I felt very comfortable . Both my eyes (cataracts) were operated on by Mr. Maycock, who made me and my wife very comfortable at my consultation. He was very reassuring and explained the procedure extremely well.
All throughout the procedure Mr. Maycock was explaining the process - and the result is amazing.
Further more, as a retired Film/TV Cameraman my expectations were very high. Needless to say the result of the op has surpassed all expectations- and my eye sight is now better than ever.

Had both my eyes operated on by Mr Nick Maycock, I was reassured throughout by him & all the staff and the final results are absolutely amazing.

Mr. Maycock carried out the cataract operations on both my eyes. Before the first he gave me a realistic and clear explanation of the procedure and attendant risks but in a kind and balanced manner. A shorter but similar interview preceded my second operation.

During both operations he made quiet comments to inform me of the progress of events, which I found very reassuring. During and after both procedures I felt neither pain nor discomfort and the post-operative periods were equally trouble free. Both four-week post-operative assessments indicated that the operations had been successful and the results delighted both me and my optician.

My impression is that the procedures were carried out with great skill, and consideration for the individual patient, by a surgeon who worked in harmony with the theatre team in an atmosphere of professionalism and mutual respect.

I consider myself fortunate to have been Mr. Maycock’s patient. His work exceeded my expectations.

I had cataract surgery on both eyes. The first in Feb 23 and then in Apr 23. During both procedures Nick was calm, confident and able to calm my nerves by explaining everything in a straight forward way.
