It’s ok for what it is but not much tastewise
It’s fine for what it is.. quite overpriced though. You’d do much better buying a couverture chocolate for the same price or even cheaper. Is overblended so much you can’t get any particular flavour.. basically jumping on a hippie fad for Cacao ceremonies, involving a lot of people who don’t actually understand what a properly processed chocolate is, but have unrealistic fantasies and aspirations about what they’re getting in a so-called ‘raw cacao’-uninspiring

Hi Conor, thanks for the review.
A couple of things worth clarifying: this is pure, single-origin, organic cacao sourced from smallholder farmers practising regenerative agriculture in Honduras, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. It's grated/block cacao, not powder, and we've never described it as raw — that's not a claim we make.
On taste — it's a fair point that it's not for everyone. There's no sweetener in it at all, since it's not chocolate, so it comes across quite dark, rich, and intense. It's a more sophisticated, acquired taste rather than a mass-market one, and we're upfront about that. That said, plenty of people do love it — we've picked up Great Taste Awards over the years, so we'd push back on "not much tastewise."

Taste was awful, not worth 11grams of fat
Delivery was quick, thats why i gave it two stars . But im sorry to say the actual cacao drink taste awful, very bitter, also very high in fat 11grams per cup. The taste isn't worth the 11grams of fat. Won't be buying again. Aisling

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we’re glad to hear your delivery arrived quickly.
Our cacao is 100% pure grated cacao — it isn’t sweetened and it’s not designed to taste like traditional hot chocolate. Because there’s no added sugar or flavourings, the flavour is naturally rich, dark and intense. If you’re used to sweet hot chocolate, it can taste more bitter in comparison. Many of our customers enjoy it exactly for that deep, smooth flavour, but we completely understand that it’s not for everyone.
In terms of the fat content, the fat comes naturally from the cacao butter that’s retained in the whole bean. Unlike cacao powders, which have much of the natural fat removed, we keep the bean intact to give a thicker, creamier texture. It’s simply the natural composition of cacao rather than anything added.
We always recommend blending or frothing it well and adding milk of choice, and for those who prefer a sweeter taste, a little maple syrup or honey can balance the bitterness beautifully.

I’ve been looking to find a nice cacao for ages, partly because I wanted a healthier alternative to hot chocolates and also since I used to have cashew milk and cacao years ago and have finally found you guys!!
I first got in touch in early pregnancy via socials to ask advice and the team were super lovely and friendly! And now 6 months pregnant and having asked my medical practitioners and researched for myself I felt confident in adding it to my diet, and if anything they and the research I’ve shown shows some benefits to it in pregnancy! Always best to check with your own medical practitioners and own research but everything in moderation right!
This aside it’s the best part of my morning after school drop off, I get home and pop some cacao into milk and gently heat….. I indulge in some mini marshmallows on top….. just because I can 🤣🤣

Quick delivery of the most beautifully…
Quick delivery of the most beautifully wrapped cacao. To open it is a treat in itself! Lovely, smooth cacao. I'd add less water though then in the recipe but you can just make it the way you like :) Very affordable as well. Great local company!

so pleased with my cacao blocks.. Im a cacao addict, I have drank cacao all around the world and can honestly say nibbed cacao is wonderful. Its such a joy to have access to fairly priced and delicious cacao in Ireland 🤍🙏🏻
