Wave = NO STARS

If I could give Wave a ZERO I would. Because they offer ZERO customer service. I have been experiencing nothing but issues since the payroll switch to the new Check company. They have absolutely ZERO issue charging a small fortune for services not obtained. They will not release our tax info, and the best help I have been able to get is a link to the IRS. STAY AWAY!

Avoid Wave at all costs!

I am exceedingly disappointed in my experience with Wave so far. I have paid for services not rendered, left without the ability to speak to support, and have found that they are trying to shirk refunds for business owners by claiming only Google and Apple can issue them (I paid directly via their website). I was left in limbo with payroll, and unable to utilize it with only an ineffective chatbot to speak with. My email was forwarded to support which I have not heard anything from. I absolutely do NOT recommend this business.

This company is a scam

This company is a scam! My accountant (which hasn't been my accountant for about 5 years) created an account for me (when it was free) and I have been paying for the pro version monthly since they stopped the free program. I used it a couple of years after I switched accountants but kept trying to cancel it because it's not intuitive or user friendly at all. It wouldn't let me. Finally, a few months ago, I thought I canceled it but it kept charging me. Now I am still paying but cannot get into my account at all. There's no contact to get a live person and they just reduced support hours to 11-3. I had my bank change my card and somehow they are STILL charging me. Totally unacceptable. I am going to keep filing complaints until this account is canceled, they stop charging me, and I get my money back. Do not sign up with them unless you want to be tied to them for years.

Used to be cool…

Used to be really cutting edge and cool - now there is no support, Constant issues, and help articles that are so old that they are deprecated. Support chat is open from 11-2pm. good luck getting in touch. Emails are returned in a week if returned.
Feels like someone abandoned their project and went to live on Bali and it is managing itself.

Great Platform, But Absolutely No Support

The WaveApps platform functions well in many ways, but I’m leaving a low rating due to the complete lack of customer support. There is literally no real support available. The chatbot loops in circles without resolving anything, there is no live customer service, and I’ve been waiting over two weeks for a response to a payroll issue. Even simple problems—like not being able to delete or modify a payment date—have no resolution path because their support team simply doesn’t reply.

Absolutely horrible experience

Absolutely horrible experience. I started using them a year ago and they were ok. However, in June of 2025 they changed their service to partner with a new payroll partner and all of my services shut down. Second half of June payroll is shut down and I could not pay my employees. You cannot contact a live agent through chat so only via email. None of my emails were answered for over three weeks, and i sent around 4 emails. They sent one lame email from their marketing department to all customers that failed to take any responsibility or outline a fix. I still cannot run payroll with them and still cannot contact anyone from the company. Absolute nightmare for a small business.

Update to system crashed Wave, can't run our payroll

We've used it for payroll for years, and for the most part it's been fine. It's not built for payroll, and so there are some features that are clunky, but mostly it fits our needs.

However, they recently updated the system and it's been a nightmare. Everything is bogged down and takes forever to load, and when I logged in to run our payroll, I was prompted to update tax info for all our employees. After updating everything, we are unable to process and run our employees. We can't even look at the payroll summary to see what we owe employees so we can write them a check. And there's no way to get in touch with customer support and now we're scrambling to figure out another payroll service to figure this out.

Wave sucks the big one

Wave sucks the big one, If you have a problem you have to upgrade to talk to customer service, nevermind they dont have a phone you have to email them when they are open so if you got a problem at 330 on friday and its memorial day weekend your not getting it fixed till wendesday because it takes a day to respond.
