I completed the 15 day Manaslu Circuit and Tsum Valley trek which has been amazing and my best trip ever! The experience was really worth it, especially hiking the authentic and barely touched Tsum Valley. The guide and porter I was with was friendly and always happy to answer my questions as well as have a chat and a joke. Nepal Alternative Trekking Company is probably the best hiking company to go with in Nepal and I highly recommend it. If you are reading this review and want to see what the company and the trek can offer I filmed the key moments on my GoPro and you will be able to see it on YouTube from May 2026 under @SikerContent. I am not promoting my YouTube account but rather inviting you to see what the trek has to offer! The guide picked the best room in the best tea house they could and the whole experience was one of the best priced. You can choose to go as a private group or apart of a bigger one.

I’m very happy that I booked my Everest Base Camp Trek + Island Peak with Nepal Alternative Treks. Mr Tej was very hands on and communicative throughout the whole process and even met me at my hotel the day before the trek, this was Nepali New Year too, so I really appreciated that he took the time for that! We went through everything to properly prepare me and it made me feel good. Mr Tej used to be a guide as well so his insights were very helpful to ensure a safe and fun journey.

My guide, Bimal was an absolute rockstar! Due to circumstance, I had inadvertently become the only guest for this schedule so he double teamed becoming my guide and porter. Bimal made sure I was hydrating, eating, and resting enough to keep any AMS symptoms in check. His pacing throughout the hike was very good and there were times he would let me go ahead or hang back so I could take my photos and videos but would always keep an eye on me. Every evening we would discuss what was ahead for the next day so that I could prepare physically and mentally and I feel it’s important to take it day by day for a longer trip. When I felt uncomfortable with pursuing the Island Peak portion of the trip, I requested to rest instead and we were able to amend the trip to make sure we get home safely instead. I glad that flexibility is something that guests can request should anything come up.

As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe with Bimal and Nepal Alternative Treks. I’m very happy to recommend them to anyone looking for an adventure. Thanks Mr Tej and Bimal! Support local!

We as a couple just completed our first trek in nepal, five days Mardi Himal trek. From beginning to end, it was very good Communication with Tej. Our guide Tek and Porter Asim was very helpful, patient and professional. They followed our slow pace and gave us a lot of encouragement. It was an amazing experience.

We had a very helpful guide, who knew the area and the people in the valley. We were also accompanied by two yound porters, who were a great addition to the group vibe. We strongly recommend this trekking agency. In case we return to the Himalayas we will surely choose them again.

Had an amazing time hiking the Everest Three Passes trek (clockwise) in march/april 2026. Everything was well organized by Tej and his company. From the initial contact in the months leading up to the trip, to the airport pickup and the contact and support during the trek. The guide was experienced and made sure I was doing well all the time.

Very impressive with their great service. All staff members were very friendly and very attentive. It was my first trip to Nepal and I felt in love with their kind hospitality and a very warm welcome of the Nepal Alternative Treks & Expeditions and the nepalies.

I can safely recommend this company, and here's why: 1) From the very beginning of communication, everything was clear.
2) We customized the standard program and asked if it was possible. everything turned out to be possible
3) we were quickly answered to all our questions and we agreed on everything very quickly
4) when we arrived, we were met at the airport and taken to the hotel
5) the next day, Tej came to our hotel with a guide and we discussed everything again and paid the rest of the money
6) everything was organized at the best level
7) our guide, Soroj, is a great guy!

I was traveling to Nepal for the first time and was a little worried about the organizational aspects, but I was pleasantly surprised by how attentive Tej and his team were.
We went Manaslu and Annapurna circle and it was great!

Từ lúc nhắn tin hỏi thông tin cho tới chốt lịch trình với Director Tej Gurung, mọi thứ đều diễn ra xuôn sẻ và chuyên nghiệp. Anh ấy giải đáp mọi thắc mắc của mình rất rõ ràng và làm mình thấy tin tưởng.
Còn kể tới chuyến hành trình thì không thể không cảm ơn anh Guide Saroj Ghale, anh ấy là một guide tận tâm và vui tính, chăm sóc chúng mình thật tốt và chúng mình đã có những lúc trò chuyện vui vẻ và cùng nhau chơi game ludo.

Our tour: Tsum Valley, part of Manaslu circuit, Tilicho, Annapurna circuit.
Wonderful 25 days trekking with an excellent team, organized by Nepal Alternative Treks & Expeditions.
Our most competent guide was Nauser Ghale. He was extraordinarily knowledgeable and dedicated. He gave us an enormous amount of information about the Country and its people. He was well connected with the local population and facilitated contact between them and us. Thanks to him we gained insight into the culture of Nepal. Nauser was extremly helpful and organized everything perfectly like transports, lodges and meals.
A big compliment goes to the three porters, Ningma, Dill and Ruppies. They were helpful, very cheerful and they always found an opportunity to joke and laugh.

We wanted to do a 4 day trek to the Muldai (Mulde) viewpoint since I heard it was much less crowded than Poon Hill, but Nepal Alternative Treks designed the trek so we could go to both, with different amazing views from each. Tej was very helpful in arranging it all, including coming to our hotel to meet with us, taking care of all the arrangements and permits and making a few changes we requested. Our guide, Yugal, was wonderful, very patient, good English and shared a lot of information about the mountains, Nepal and himself. He took care of all the details each day smoothly. My porter (my daughter carried her pack) was Ramesh, who was also very helpful and gracious, and both of them had a great sense of humor. Going in early January was nice being the low season, as the trails, towns and lodges were quite empty. And of the four companies I inquired with, the cost with Nepal Alternative Treks was the least expensive. All in all a wonderful experience!

I returned to Nepal for the 12-day Everest Base Camp trekking package and once again had an excellent experience. The professionalism and personal care shown by Mr Tej, Mr Tek the guide, and Mr Santos the porter were outstanding. Throughout the New Year trek, I was very well taken care of, from logistics and safety to daily comfort on the trail. Their experience, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made this challenging trek both smooth and memorable. I highly recommend this team to anyone planning an EBC trek.

In september I was on a solo tour in Ruby Valley, exploring my interests in traditional weaving and women's rigths, conditions and possibilities in Nepal. I had an absolutely fantastic trek and visit to Ruby Valley, and especially Chalish, a small village, where I stayed for 4 days. I was veaving a Tamang man head scarf with two very skilled weavers, Rosa and her mother. I stayed at the house (home stay) of the aunt&uncle to my my female guide, Ritika. Ritika, Jamuna ans other women shared their lives, experiences and crafts with me, and I was invited into so many homes in Chalish.
The trek was individually planned with good communication and help from Mr. Tej Gurung, owner of Nepal Alternative Treks.
I am grateful for the experience and recommend Alternative Treks, if you are interested in local crafts and womens rights and work, because trekking with a female guide opens so many doors.

What an amazing trip! Alternative treks was amazing from start to finish! I had a very warm welcome at the airport and transport to my hotel in Kathmandu. The ABC trek was like a dream- so so beautiful and rewarding! My guide Krishna was absolutely great, well experienced, attentive and brought lively fun to the whole experience. If you are considering it, I’d say definitely go for it. Sunsets and sunrises in the Annapurna region is something I will cherish forever. I loved how we had plenty of down time to enjoy the beautiful scenery! I hope to come back to Nepal and do some more treks with Krishna and Alternative treks!

My friend and I did the tsum valley and manaslu circuit 17 day trek, it was incredible. I can’t recommend this company enough, our guide Thal and porter Ajay were so kind and knowledgeable, we had so much fun. Communication and organisation before and during the walk were great, we wouldn’t change anything.
