Most pathetic, and complience obessed bank
I’ve had to call the bank five times just to sort out FICA. It’s absurd — they seem to have forgotten that their core function is banking, not endless compliance red tape. Despite multiple calls and providing documents, I’m still showing as non-compliant. Over the past three years, I’ve moved my business portfolios, staff accounts, and family banking elsewhere — and I don’t regret it for a second.

Worst bank ever
Worst bank ever. Last year I accepted their home loan offer, bad decisions ever. The terms and conditions was that I have an account with them.
The home loan- At first I was paying via debit order on the last day of they month, if the last day is on Monday, they will debit on Friday😭 I moved to stop order and I pay more that they require but they call every month asking if my details have changed😥and also sending me massages telling me I am in arrears and giving me incorrect balance to be paid and advice me to switch to debit order.
The account - I don't know how many times I want to make payment to new account in the evening and the app want me to call the bank or visit the branch, I am talking about a payment of less than 100 or 500😥 . Last I made a payment from municipality app and wanted proof of transaction, I was told to wait for 48hours to get it🥱 there is alot of bad service I experienced and now I am even of switching my home loan to another so that I cancel their account

My mother has made NINE trips between Easter and 8/5/25 to get card issues resolved. Every 2 days her card won't work. What's up with that, Nedbank? And please don't expect anyone to DARE apologize ... oh heavens, no!
My mom is 86, lives far from a branch and has had to make all these trips to fix YOUR blunders. No-one has reimbursed her for wasted petrol and time dallied away waiting for service.

I asked Nedbank for a payment holiday, as my wife was retrenched 4 months ago. I have never missed a single payment, and needed time to catch up with other debts. I said I was at risk of losing my house and they responded that they can't help me, and if I don't pay I will be handed over to legal. The reason: "we don't offer payment holidays for that." If you can, do your best to get financed by another bank.
Nedbank Insurance – Mishandling Flood Damage Claim and Failure to Act
Nedbank Insurance has mishandled my Homeowner’s Cover claim after a flood in October 2024.
Despite submitting my claim in November 2024, it took nearly five months to receive a settlement offer — which did not even cover the contractor-assessed repairs.
They also refused to assess all visible flood damage reported, ignored my formal dispute, and failed to respond for over two weeks.
I have escalated this matter to the Ombudsman for Short-Term Insurance.
Unacceptable service from a major insurer collecting full premiums.

I reviewed nedbank 4yrs ago for their bad service and today nothing has changed at all,still the most incompetent bank ever.I am not able to log an enquiry because they have not updated my personal details no matter how many times I have called them to.This is not a bank to be trusted.They added an extra R17 000 to my bond account in 2018 without consulting me and up to this day they are unable to give me answer regarding this amount.I was told to let this matter to rest because they have tried to explain and I still don't understand and most probably never will.I still don't understand because this doesn't make sense,it's pure theft to me.Be careful enough not to associate yourself with this company,they are pure clueless bullies with very bad customer service.I started paying for my bond before my house was even built,that too was never explained,they throw terms at you that even them dont understand.Save yourselves the trouble and stress and stay away from them,dont play with your health.

I attempted to open an account as a non-resident, enduring a frustrating year-long process. I submitted hundreds of documents, certified them twice, and sent everything three times to South Africa. Yet, I was met with utter disregard. The onboarding officer, Fuzil Masilela, displayed the worst customer service I have ever encountered. He was disorganized, unhelpful, and created unnecessary confusion throughout the process. I strongly advise avoiding him at all costs. All my effort, frustration, and money have amounted to nothing. This bank exemplifies poor service and an awful customer experience. They never opened me a bank account.

Dishonest and disguisting customer service from the personal loan side as well as the complaints department. I have an agreement with Nedbank that they debited my account on the 28th of each month as this is my salary date. The first time last year they debited my account a day before but when they sent me an sms to remind me the day was as per my salary date. Nedbank decided to deduct it a day before resulting in me to pay bank charges because i had no money i went through the whole thing waited more than a month to just get a refund on my bank charges and stated afterwards that my salary date is the 28th of each month no matter what it will always be the 28th as per my contact papers. So February comes receives an sms from Nedbank stating that my debit will go off on the 28th i accepted it and carried on the 27th comes and Nedbank again decided they are going to debit my account. I phoned and got an excuse of that its because " the system saw i got paid previous month on the 27th and it changed it to the 27th" worse part of it all is that how many months before that i got paid on the 28th!!! Not the 27th!!! I logged a complaint again got the reference number and contacted Scelo that assisted me the first time... The service i received is horrible i need to keep on following up on emails i send in time frames of 5 days to more than a week and just no answer from this person!!! They sent me an sms stating it will be sorted out in the next 21 days we are at 20 days now and no communication no sms no phone call no email nothing was even attempted to sort out this issue and get my money refunded back to me!!! Basically stealing money and just ignoring you as the client. I will never recommend Nedbank Personal loans to anyone!!!

Their internet banking facilities are always down, they do not bother to reply to the email addresses listed, their support lines are garbage and staggeringly incompetent.

Nedbank house insurance
I lodged a claim for a damaged Worden garage door with Nedbank House Insurance around January 18, 2025. Initially, everything went smoothly when I spoke with the call center agent. The assessor was dispatched promptly and inspected the damage at my property. However, I was later informed that my claim had been rejected.
When I inquired about the reason for the rejection, I was told that the damage occurred a long time ago. I explained to the agent that I had left my house in December 2024 for a holiday and only returned on January 14, 2025. Upon my return, I discovered the damage and immediately made the claim.
I was promised a rejection letter within a few minutes, but after waiting for five hours without receiving it, I called the call center at 0800 555 111 again. I requested to speak with a manager and was connected to a person named Mr Joel Mashego. Unfortunately, he displayed a dismissive attitude and showed no interest in listening to my concerns. I reminded him that listening is an essential skill, but he continued to undermine my questions and insisted that Nedbank would not cover my claim.
My question is simple: Why is Nedbank, a company with a good reputation, refusing to honor what I believe is a legitimate claim? The assessor conducted a thorough inspection and found no issues. However, someone in the office is now claiming the damage happened long ago. If that were the case, I would have made the claim at that time, not now. I am simply seeking clear answers and fair treatment.
