Old historic warehouses, striking modern developments and tucked away mews houses are just some of the places we call home – and no two of our apartments are the same meaning that you can choose a size and budget to suit you. We do furnished apartments, not individual rooms, giving you space, freedom and flexibility to do what you want, when you want. Our Native places come with fully equipped kitchens, right down to a corkscrew and frying pan. Banish hotel room service – it doesn’t get much more authentic than shopping in local markets and bringing back fresh ingredients to your apartment.

Good place to stay

Stayed at Ducie Street Manchester in a studio. I thought that the room was great, bed comfy, amenities were good. Room was pretty warm and could have done with a fan or AC. Would stay again.

Stayed at Native in Manchester on Ducie Street. Lovely building, tastefully decorated. Apartment was compact but suited our needs. More of a room with drinks making facilities and fridge. Only criticism was there was no plug in bathroom sink. Stayed in 206b.
Would stay again, good value for money and friendly staff.

Form over function

I am a resident at Corkfield, one of Native's mixed use BTR blocks in Birmingham.

As previous reviewers have said, Corkfield is great to look at - communal areas are tastefully furnished and there are some helpful amenities. A viewing here feels great and the staff (both here and at the parent company, Native Residential) are great at selling a dream. If you're a cricket fan, the idea of living right next to Edgbaston Stadium, is a massive selling point.

However, Corkfield is very much form over function.
Firstly, on the communal side:
Despite being dog friendly, other dog owners appear to be experts at letting dogs poop inside and outside the building, and generally avoid picking up the waste.
Bin rooms have been frequently left overflowing with discarded items all over the floor and the stench emanating throughout the ground floor.
You pay extra for a parking space and often find other people using it (Corkfield states that their ANPR parking barriers don't allow non-recognised cars onsite - but that is untrue. Building management have also had to leave the shutters on their indoor parking spaces open due to technical problems).
Lifts, particularly in Block A, have been plagued with problems, and there have been times where both the main lift-shafts have been out of service (which people on the 15th floor must have really enjoyed...!)
Communication amongst staff appears woefully inadequate - different staff members deliver different messages (particularly in relation to maintenance), leading to residents wasting time on chasing things over and over again.
It is not uncommon for emails and messages on their much-hyped app to go completely ignored.
The parcel room is useful, but was previously shambolic, with parcels just being strewn all over the room with no organisational structure, leading it to feel like a low-effort, low-budget escape room. (While this has improved, the appears to be some staff who aren't sure whether to store parcels by first initial or last initial).
Despite several messages about being a no-smoking complex, cigarette butts are often strewn around the complex.

Communal maintenance often takes ages to sort (e.g. a threshold strip that kept coming up in block A took several months to be stuck down properly).
You may not be told that booking some of the amenities (ground floor dining room, 8th floor dining room) cost extra - they do.

On the personal side:
Move-in experience was awful. While new tenants nowadays appear to be allowed to drive right up to the doors of block A, we were told that this was absolutely forbidden (which either means that the rules have changed, or staff have lost their spine). Should this be forbidden again, be prepared to spend a lot of time and money (e.g. if hiring a van) on the move in process.

We didn't receive the much-hyped welcome box that all residents are meant to get. Messages asking to get one went unanswered.

Maintenance can be hit-or-miss. There are clearly some skilled and knowledgable members of the maintenance team who do their best to get a good job done. There are others who don't appear to have an idea of what is feasible, start jobs without being able to finish them, and promise return visits that never come. (The Facilities Manager has also booked in jobs and then cancelled / moved them without notice). When it comes to reactive maintenance (e.g. in the case of water coming up through the floor), staff promise to send out an engineer on the same day, but other staff later state that no maintenance team are on site.

For the price, and despite the wonderful location and tasteful communal spaces, Corkfield represents abhorrent value - I'd recommend shopping around.

In summary, Corkfield looks great - but take that vision with a pinch of salt and more than a heap of patience. You'll need it.

Very clean, excellent

Very clean suite, excellent service, comfy bed and very quiet location (hyde park) I would 100% stay here again as I felt really safe as a lone traveller with 24 hr manned desk. Really do recommend these apartments and wish I could have stayed longer. Will be staying here again

Stayed at Kings Watdrobe

Stayed at St Paul’s - Kings Wardrobe London 2 bed apartment- the building/area was beautiful, the location great, I would imagine the most people would be very pleased, staff were helpful, beautifully clean. Twin beds on request in both rooms. The air con had broken, disappointing- they were “ working on it” not enough coffee pods, just so you know St Paul’s rings all night which was fine. Georgian building charming, historic area. Close St Paul’s, Millenium Bridge, Borough Market..nice bars, somewhere to eat out, 25 min walk to Covent Garden. Would absolutely book again. £400 ish per night. 4 stars as for the money would have expected perfection.

I am writing about Native on Ducie St…

I am writing about Native on Ducie St in Manchester. Stayed there overnight June 3rd 2023, in their 2 bedroom apt and had a most disenchanting experience. While the atmosphere intends to be youthful and informal, it is cold, brusque and unwelcoming. The subtleties in their dismissive ways are hopefully a case of poor training and not a culture of racist, ageist demeanour.

Their website and all info online says they serve meals till 1AM, which is untrue and we were at the receiving end of no dinner after a very tiring day and returning to the hotel at 11pm.

The rooms could do with better housekeeping, stocking of basic amenities that are absent and expected to be purchased from the reception or Morrisons next door. The bathrooms have been poorly constructed with choke ups and an awful sewage stench.

And here’s something for Amex travellers - not only do they not guarantee or honour a late checkout, your access card stops functioning after 9:30am to discourage you from returning to your room.

Best to stay at Dakota or any of the other myriad boutique properties in the same area with friendly staff and facilities that are top class.

Tried to book Native Hyde Park for 3…

Tried to book Native Hyde Park for 3 nights over phone (website problems). Given clear price then lengthy info request & finally credit card details taken, at which point price up 50%. Told this was for fees & charges (not advised up front!). Dubious practices & lack of transparency. Avoid!

Bad Experience, Never Again

I won a 'competition' with Native as, having stayed with them several times previously, I was on their emailing list. I was surprised and pleased however, having arrived at the hotel on the night I'd booked (Saturday), I was told my booking was for Sunday - I was left high and dry. I cancelled the Sunday booking at the hotel and complained to Native Customer Services with evidence several times - they don't even bother to reply to me.....so, what was intended to be a promotion has had the opposite effect with me - I'll never stay in their hotels again and will encourage others to do same - BAD COMPANY.

Went to an interview really long winded…

Went to an interview in Notting Hill, London, really long winded process, sarcastic recruiter and horrible person interviewing me, made me feel very uncomfortable indeed. Would not recommended and do not seem to incorporate diversity in their business /building which i found vehemently disgusting. Would not recommend doing business with them, and u left very annoyed. Don't waste your time or money on them!!!
