The National Register of Health Service Psychologists was established in 1974 and is the largest credentialing organization for psychologists and psychology doctoral students. We are an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to improving healthcare by identifying psychologists who meet specific education and training standards, and by verifying these professionals to consumers, healthcare organizations, and regulatory bodies. The National Register currently credentials 10,000 Health Service Psychologists and has approximately 5,000 psychology doctoral student and postdoctoral trainee members of its Associate Program. Aging: a road well travelled by travelling it well
In her presentation, Dr. Erin Emery-Tiburcio laid out a realistic roadmap for the journey into the fascination of ongoing life. Listening to her, I sensed her conviction that human life is open, as it matures, to growth, possibilities and richness. As in any journey, there are suggestions on what to appreciate, what to observe, what to enjoy, and what to avoid. Erin did this masterfully is speaking of growing in age as a stage of life not as a decline into depression. What a great guide she must be for those travelling on the journey into the maturity of living!
