Jay and the team

Jay and the team were very professional, courteous, and never stopped working for all the time they were there. Jay’s honesty should also be recognized. He found an envelope with approximately £500 when clearing a room, I was not in the property at the time, so he left it where he found it and advised me when I got back. It would have been very easy for him to pocket the money and as it was my aunt’s house, I wouldn’t have known that the money even existed.

28 June

28 June - The two drivers turned up on time, in a dirty van without any packaging materials or wheels. It took five hours to vacate a one bedroom flat when most items had already been packed. There was no furniture except for one bed. The job included a packing service for kitchen items but in order to speed things up we had to help with the packing. No mattress cover provided. It took nearly 30 minutes to find a way to protect it from getting dirty. Unfortunately, this was not achieved and it arrived dirty at the other end.
The invoice did not match the quote that I received. I was charged a lot more plus I had been invoiced for the lunch break that the drivers took. It took nearly 45 minutes to finally agree on a compromise. It was agreed that Customers Services would sort out the matter and refund the additional amounts.
Of course this did not happen and when I tried to contact someone in the company, my calls were ignored.
I also tried to re-claim £38.00 for a hoover part which went missing during the move and I had to replace but I was told this had to be reported within seven days. (The hoover wasn't used for several weeks after the move)
I only ever spoke to one person who seems to handle everything therefore I am not sure if there is a Customer Service department or if there is an Accounts department, therefore there is no-one else in the company to arbitrate disputes.

Thank you for the review. Whilst we value and appreciate feedback, we do feel it's only fair that this should be balanced and reflect the events of the day accurately.

From the inventory provided and the suggestion that you would mostly be prepared ahead of your move, you were quoted for a capped economy service with a same day packing service.

Packing Materials
At 11:58, you had contacted the office querying the arrival time, and during this call despite the pending arrivals of the wrapping materials, you had advised the bookings team that you had decided to use bedsheets to protect the mattress instead. You were quoted for and provided with an economy pack and wrap bundle, which you had opted not to fully utilise.

Access
At the time of booking you had advised that only the Mattress might not fit into the service lift. However as per your own admission and as accounted by the team, the service lift was not available and therefore your contents were carried down 4 floors / 8 flights of steps at the collection address

Breaks
Each of our vehicles are fitted with trackers for security purposes and this allows us to cross reference any discrepancies. These trackers clearly indicate that no such lunch break was taken. We were able to verify that the team went directly from collection to delivery and are satisfied that no intentional stops or delays occurred. You were previously made aware that speed restrictions are imposed on larger vehicles and therefore that the driving duration will differ to that of a car.

Service Charges
You were charged exactly as quoted and as per terms you had agreed upon, which included the stated subsequent costs of keeping the team longer if required and the extensive difference in access to the property.

Customer Services
At the end of your move, you were requested to submit your complaint in writing to allow the Customer Services team to investigate further which at the time you had refused to do. No such discussion took place regarding compromises or refunds.

Following your move in June, the first and only call received from you was on July 13th, which was answered by our team. There is no record of any further calls and no indication that anything has been ignored.

This was also the date of your first written complaint, which was responded to in detail. You have since requested money back on numerous occasions for multiple claims. You were invited to submit any photographs or further details to support your claims and to date this has not been met. Your final response was provided by one of the senior managers here.

As mentioned above we completely value and respect feedback. Our teams work tirelessly in ensuring a smooth transition to your new home and we sincerely apologise if you feel this was not achieved on this occasion.

Very efficient

The guys were very efficient and arrived 30 mins early. Took the job on ~5 days’ notice, second time I’ve used them and highly recommended. Haven’t unpacked yet but no immediately obvious issues in terms of breakages

National Move 10/10

The 2 guys were 10/10. Jay and Aaron. Top people, top movers. Would highly recommend. Would advise to go for this company, hands down - no doubt.

Brilliant! Jay was amazing team leader.

Jay was amazing- from the moment he arrived, his manner and communication skills were excellent and he responded to the situation thoughtfully, respectfully and intelligently. The move went as smoothly as it could have with Jay and Jay both being as helpful as possible and making things easier than they might have. They worked tirelessly and with energy and cheerfully. They couldn’t have done enough for us. I wish they had done my previous move.

Driver never showed up

Driver never showed up! Worst experience, avoid!

I had pre-booked a removals team with National moves for 10am on Monday 28th June. I had selected National moves due to what I thought would be good service. The day before move, I was contacted via SMS that it was confirmed for 10am arrival.
I appreciate there was a 1 hour arrival window, but at 11.30 when they still had not shown up - I rang customer service and over the course of the day, I spoke to many customer service representatives - all of which provided no clarification on where my driver was and when I could expect them to arrive, They apparently contacted the driver on many occasions but couldn’t get a hold of him. They also advised they would ring me back with an update, but no one ever rang. I must have called customer service over 10 times throughout the day, and I would have expected them to least provide another driver or provide a solution - all of which they said they couldn’t offer which is inexcusable.

At 6pm I finally got a call from the driver – saying he had just completed the previous job - and said it wasn’t his fault, and that he didn’t have a start time on his job sheet to come to my flat!

In the end I had to book a new removals company on at 6pm and pay double the amount to get an out of hours team with a different company.

Not happy!

To bring balance to your comments we must highlight that, although the team for your 3 hour economy service were running late on one of the busiest moving days of the past few years, we were still requesting to complete your move.

Booking another removal company for later that evening was entirely at your discretion and as you are already aware, your allocated team would have arrived prior to the other company that you had booked.

Based on the records we hold, although there was a brief message left with our reception team requesting to cancel, no conversations took place with our Customer Services team at all that day.

We completely sympathise with the frustrations surrounding the delays, however every effort was made to ensure that your move would proceed.
