Terribly useless customer service

Terribly useless customer service. Puts a bad taste in my mouth and I wont be recommending music bed to anyone anymore. Scam service . Locks you in for a year with no trial time offered, emailed customer service and they were closed for the weekend, when they got back to me, they said there’s nothing they can do. There’s a difference between not being able to do something and unwilling to do something. So many other music services available nowadays. I hope music bed goes out of business for their shady scammy practices.

We do offer a 14-day free trial, but it looks like you opted to go straight into the annual subscription. I hate to hear that the process felt unclear- we try to make it apparent at several points in the checkout process and do not allow payment to be made until the box stating "I have read and acknowledge that subscription plans last 12 months" is checked.

Musicbed artists provide the highest quality music that they've poured their heart and souls into, and our agreements with them are based on annual terms. We make these terms clear and stick to them to protect our artists and their work.

I'm sorry you got the sense our team was unwilling to help, I'd love to pick up this conversation in your email thread to offer you some alternative options! Thanks again for your time and feedback- it helps us improve!

Great catalogue and customer service

I always experience working with Musicbed as very accommodating, with prices that are fair. The quality of the music offered is outstanding, and if I could I would prefer to license exclusively through them.

Music Costs 3× Competitors, With Worse Terms

⚠️ Creators beware: Musicbed’s music is good, but their business practices are some of the worst I’ve seen.

Hidden price hikes: Their site says $329/yr, but they don't tell you that after your first year, it's $385/yr. The renewal email only mentioned an “increased rate” for vague features – no clear number until your card is charged. In their contract (Section 6.b.ii), they give themselves the right to raise prices “at any time…in our sole discretion.”

Content held hostage: If you cancel, you can lose the rights to monetize videos you published while subscribed (Sections 5.m and 7). This means you may be forced to keep paying just to protect past work.

No refunds, ever: Their terms (Section 6.b.v) literally state: “ALL PAYMENTS ARE NONREFUNDABLE.” Cancel right after renewal? Too bad, you’re locked for 12 months.

Automatic renewal trap: Unless you cancel in the exact 30-day window before renewal (Section 6.a.ii), they automatically bill you for another year. Miss it by a day, you’re stuck.

Combine this with prices already 2–3× higher than Epidemic or Artlist, and you’ve got a platform that locks you in, hides true costs, and strips away flexibility.

For a company that claims to be creator-friendly, their business practices are manipulative and exploitative.

Hi Ameer, thanks for taking the time to provide feedback. It truly helps us improve and make sure we're being clear. I'd love to provide some clarity around our policies!

Our prices do increase from time to time to reflect a growing catalogue and improved features, but we are always happy to discuss rates on a case-by-case basis! We never want cost to prohibit creativity. We will never increase your subscription fee without advance notice.

All previous work is covered in perpetuity upon completion of one year of subscription. As long as you fulfill the annual term, anything you created during that term is completely safe! Though we offer monthly installments, all plans are annual- we notate this at several stages of the checkout process and require users to acknowledge the annual nature before they are able to checkout.

You'll notice in the section you referenced (6.b.v.) that Musicbed reserves the right to offer refunds at our discretion. We totally understand extenuating circumstances and unforeseen events that impact life and work, but we generally do not extend refunds if one forgets to cancel since we send a 30-day notice of the upcoming renewal.

Agreement to the automatic renewal is required before checkout by agreeing to our terms, and we send a notice of that renewal 30 days in advance, allowing plenty of time to turn off the renewal yourself or contact our team before any charges are made.

Since we are rights-managed and want to protect our artists' work, we have to be particular about our terms and ensuring the entire agreement is fulfilled.

I regret that you felt our terms were not clear, and while we always strive to be transparent, your feedback can help us clarify even further. Thanks again for being part of a candid conversation, we hope to keep making Musicbed the best it can be!

Professionalism

Allyson, a very friendly and professional Musicbed client specialist, helped me to investigate and solve an issue where a scammer tried to use Musicbed's company name, to lure me in and tried to extort money from me. As a independent artist, I was targeted by a fraudulent pursuer who wanted to take advantage of my passion to get my music in film/TV. However, thanks to Allyson and Musicbed, I was able to put a stop to that criminal activity.

I would rate musicbed and their support with 5/5 or 10/10 whatever you want to call or rate it. They responded to my email promptly in which prevented me from being a victim of a scam. Sometimes companies don’t respond in time with scam complaints from artists like myself and it causes wasted time and damage. Thank you for being a trusted place for us.

Ignoring Legal Obligations

As many on here have experienced, I began 14-day free trial on Musicbed. Before the end of the trial period, I cancelled my membership, however I did not receive email confirmation. I was since charged for the first months payment and locked into a 12 month contract. As a UK citizen, I am entitled to a 14-day cooling off period, whereby I can cancel my subscription and receive a full refund within 14 days after the payment begins (this is a legal right, even if Musicbed are not a UK based company, because they are available to UK citizens and their marketing is visible in the UK). After many emails back and forth on the matter with Musicbed's customer service team, they continued to refuse my legal right and started to ignore my emails all together. Incredibly disappointing from a company that seems to be well regarded in the creator space.

Upon reviewing your account, it appears the free trial was not cancelled before the annual subscription began. I also see that you received the 24-hour renewal notice email prior to the charge. At signup, we clearly communicate that the annual subscription will automatically begin unless cancelled during the trial, which can be done at any time from your account settings. Was there anything in that language that seemed unclear?

We strive to comply with all relevant regulations, including UK consumer protection guidance. According to UK government guidance on subscription contracts, the statutory 14-day cooling-off period generally begins when the contract is entered into (in this case, at the start of the free trial) rather than when the first paid subscription charge occurs. This ensures transparency while giving users a chance to evaluate the service during the trial.

We appreciate your feedback and are happy to answer any further questions about how subscriptions and trial cancellations work.

Disappointing & Deceptive Customer Service

While their music options are phenomenal, their customer service is incredibly inconsistent and very disappointing. Upon reading prior reviews, MusicBed indicated "In the case of an unexpected or unwanted renewal, we are quite flexible when there has been minimal use of the subscription". Despite contacting them in less than 24h from being charged a yearly subscription (I've been subscribed for years on a yearly subscription at this point), with zero usage on the account, I was continuously told it simply wasn't possible to be refunded. Upon bringing up the above quote, only then did they offer to refund only a portion of the cost. Again, despite zero usage of the subscription.

While I understand the responsibility is mine, I think it's wholly disingenuous to claim being "quite flexible" in cases of an unwanted subscriptions (this case) with minimal or no use. And when there isn't a reasoning of "but there was use of the account," they instead opt to simply be fairly inflexible. Additionally, it's also disingenuous to prevent further auto renewals online until the last month, despite already receiving full payment for a year-long subscription ahead of time. This is a music-based subscription in 2025, not a health insurance plan. I can't imagine it's difficult to easily allow customers to prevent this from happening on days 1-365 of their subscription as opposed to only on days 335-365.

I simply wanted a full refund for an entirely unused product charged less than 24 hours prior and that was denied despite their ability to be "quite flexible".

Quick and professional

Musicbed is not for everyone given the cost compared to other services. However, their music library is excellent and my experience with customer support has been great. They respond to questions promptly and courteously, including recently when I had a question about renewal. Recommended.
