I had a great consultant care and surgery experience with Mr Benson. I had early posterior cataracts in both eyes and the whole process from diagnosis, treatment plan, surgery and follow up care was faultless . Mr Benson was very keen to ensure that I had understood all information that I had been given and and provided multiple opportunities to raise further questions or concerns. Everything was explained calmly, clearly and concisely but without being rushed or pressurised. His "style", during surgery itself, was to be informative and reassuring in equal measure. Would recommend!!

I visited Mr Benson for a consultation & immediately felt at ease and knew that I would be in safe hands for my lens replacement surgery. I can see clearly now and no longer require glasses. The procedure itself was in no way painful and Mr Benson answered every question I had about the surgery.

I recently had the misfortune to suffer a complete retinal detachment in my right eye . . . but then the extremely good fortune to meet and have Mr Benson undertake the subsequent emergency operation. I understand the success rate in my own scenario is generally considered very low but I’m sitting here writing this testimonial with not just one but two working eyes! I have never stopped thanking him.

Beyond Mr Benson’s widely recognised skills in the operating theatre he is in addition the most approachable, understanding and supportive consultant one could ever have the luck to meet. Calm, honest and reassuring; be it before, during, or after the operation. I could never sing his praises enough.

I live 130 miles away in Birmingham but would willingly travel anywhere to remain under his care.

I've been under Mr Benson's care for around 2 years. He is direct and speaks to me as an equal, never patronising, always patient. My cateract surgery last month went well. This was really helped by Mr Benson explaining what I was experiencing as he operated. This made me feel calm and that I was in safe hands, which is so very important. I
recommend Mr Benson and should I need further more complex eye surgery
in the future which may be the case, would very much hope he was my
surgeon again.

Mr Benson is my life saver, been a none controlled diabetic I lost eyesight in both eyes. After 12 month of doctors appointments and hospital visit I was eventually sent to see Mr Benson. It was like entering into a different world, he simply explained what had happened over the years as a diabetic and what needed to be done to make everything right. An operations in each eye one within 6 weeks an the other 6 month, what a wonderful experience I was made to feel so comfortable and each stage explained so professionally it was a god send. Mr Benson has made me feel like a friend and I have a personal hot line for him if I need any advice or concerns. I would definitely recommend Mr Benson to anyone who have any concerns with there eyesight. On your first visit you'll know you made the right decision
