Disapointed with Motorpoint Quality Control
I bought a car from Motorpoint in Potsmouth and they were very good until it came to the car handover. A few days before I picked the car up they said the car would be fully valeted, quality checked with no warning lights including the low fuel light. When I collected the car it was in a dimly lit collection bay and it wasn't until I drove away I realised the seats were filthy and had not been cleaned. Also, the fuel light was on and there was only 25 miles of fuel in the car and a slow puncture on the rear right tyre. I have spoken and emailed them about this, but have not had any response a week later. I am very disapointed as their website video says all cars are checked and cleaned and much more. Make sure you thouroughly check the vehicle you buy in daylight before accepting it as they don't do what they promise.

Tried to sell my sister a car that was clearly faulty. Sent her out on a test drive when the tracking and brakes were faulty. Apologised and promised to get repaired before purchasing. Lack of communication from them ultimately lead to us pulling out of the deal.

I was greeted straight away by Wesley Schumann who proceeded to take me through a selection of models that met my requirements. I didnt feel under any pressure which was paramount for me. I was given time to make sure i was getting the car that I wanted. Excellent communication throughout. Really pleased with my new car.

Awesome customer service
Drove past every morning and never noticed it. Sold my old car and was complaining to a colleague about the dealership I previously used closing down and she suggested Motorpoint.
Went on their website and thought ok, as I was on a budget. I saw a few options and rang them. They got the Portsmouth team to ring me back. Went for my appointment 19th of July 2025, collected the car on the 21st of July.
Wesley and Charlie went above and beyond. Had to ring them on the 22nd about one of the keys not working, and took it in on the 23rd, it was fixed in less than 3 mins. The same week, I had to give them another ring as the car refused to start after charging and the electric mirrors wouldn't unfold and I was stuck for over an hour trying to get it to work before it started working. Gave them another ring and was asked to bring it it. On getting there, the mirrors started working fine and the auto lock and unlock started working as well. The people with me were shocked as was I and I felt awful as it felt like I rang them for nothing but the colleague who came to attend to me was very understanding.
So far, I haven't had any issues with the car (touch wood) and I would definitely choose them again.
Sorry I took time writing this review as I was still trying to observe the car itself.

From the start of my car shopping experience with Motorpoint, Charlie was really understanding of my situation, time constraints and requirements. He was extremely friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and professional.
Collection day felt like a big celebration for everyone and you're made to feel really special!
It was great to get a call a few days after collection to make sure that everything is as expected and you're enjoying your new car.
Overall I cannot fault Motorpoint Portsmouth for their incredible team and service. I recommend them to everyone that even mentions they're thinking about getting a new car!
