After almost two years and a great deal of disappointments with Equity Release, we approached Money Release. We spoke to Asha, an exceptional advisor who made the process of equity release very easy to follow. We found her to be accurate, extremely friendly and easy to talk to. Once she heard our long story she made us a promise and she delivered it in an impeccable manner.
We are extremely grateful to Asha and her dedication to our personal situation.  We shall never be able to thank her enough for helping us to achieve our dream.
We extend our gratitude to Carol as well for her fast, efficient and accurate responses.

I connected with an Asha Patel who guided me through the various processes and gave me quotes. She was fairly professional and detailed, and initially good to deal with. The first thing I noticed was that the MR website calculator I had used prior to contacting was way out with the actual offer I received inside. So that was the first disappointment. Also I only really received one real plan, even though they boast on the website of having over 200 plans available. Anyway after a small number of calls (3) of Consulting the plan offered was not quite right for me, and after voicing this and not given a suitable alternative, was told by Asha Patel I needed to alter my Expectations and to be more flexible. Well actually no, what I needed was other quotes. Before moving on, and feeling I was slipping away I was urged by Ms Patel at multiple times to start this process with her asap, because in “her words” the word was that interest rates were going increase in the future. This was obviously pressure selling ,albeit fairly Lacklustre.

Since then I’ve just completed my life mortgage with another broker, the plan is far closer to my needs and I’m happier about moving forward now, and I didn’t need to alter my Expectations or be more flexible.

The moral of the story is to shop around and get quotes from different brokers, not (ONE) Broker covers the whole market, even though they like to tell you they do.

Such a nuisance
I had to block number but every day they manage to leave same annoying voicemail. 2 months this has been going on.
I would never use them. They must be desperate

I was taken through the process by Joe Vickery. He explained equity release, but before he recommended it to me went through my financial circumstances to see if equity release was suitable. I would have no hesitation in recommending the company to anyone who was thinking of releasing equity from their house.

In November 2023, I began what I thought would be a relatively easy project, to release some capital from my ‘mortgage free’ home, by way of an Equity Release Mortgage. My first choice for this resulted in expensive administrative costs and solicitors fees, hence, my quest to explore the market of lenders/advisors further. By March 2024, I thought I’d found ‘the deal’, with a second advisor, who promised me the earth. When the actual offer was made, the interest rate differed from what was agreed and a discrepancy with the solicitor fees being £500 higher than quoted. On to advisor number three, then four, then five until at end of June, by a sheer fluke, I received a call from the delightful Claire, at Money Release, who had followed up an enquiry I had made to Royal London directly. How this transpired was at first a mystery but from that initial positive call with Claire, which led to a more in depth conversation with Joe, a brief chat with Carol and an ultimate conversation with Company Director, Andy, I’m pleased to report that finally, after nine months, my equity mortgage has been completed.
Without naming names, I can attest that I have been both lied to and repeatedly ignored by all my other advisors, times spent at interviews completely wasted by then being offered products I didn’t want. Some of the advice fees were ridiculous and despite having received two written mortgage offers, overall, I had lost every bit of faith in this particular mortgage market and the advisors therein, which I might add, had all been recommended by the Equity Release Council.
Dealing with the good folk at Money Release was a complete breath of fresh air. The calmness of the process, simplicity of dialogue, questions answered, punctual return of promised telephone calls, attention to detail, listening and understanding, honesty, awareness and efficiency….the list of adjectives goes on. Eventually, I was introduced and met with Money Release’s nominated Solicitor, Barton Law. Peter Barton himself followed on the legal side with the same pleasant, friendly, understanding and professionalism as everyone I’d dealt with to date.
This testimony simply cannot put into words how delighted, elated, satisfied and most of all, relieved I am to have undergone this mortgage project with such a fantastic support team that was Money Release. I can only end by hoping that everyone wishing to begin the process of an Equity Mortgage reads this testament and contacts Money Release FIRST before exploring any other advisor. You will save yourself a lot of time, trouble and stress, should you do so.
