As a single mum with young children, I discovered a slow puncture in one of my tyres on a Saturday. I just about managed to limp the car home safely, but I was in a complete panic – I absolutely needed the car ready for work on Monday, with no other way to get there and no family nearby to help. In desperation, I called Mobile Tyre Surgeons, hoping for quick, professional help from their advertised 24/7 mobile service.

Right from the start, they required full payment over the phone before even dispatching anyone – no work, no arrival, just hand over the money first. They did mention extra charges for miles outside their "certain radius," but in my stressed state, I had no real choice but to agree and pay up front. It felt like they were locking me in while I was vulnerable and had zero alternatives.

When the fitter finally arrived:

They fitted the new tyre (for the slow puncture), but did not balance it despite telling me over the phone/on arrival that balancing would be done as standard/part of the service. Now my steering wheel shakes and the car vibrates badly at anything over 50 mph – it's uncomfortable, unsafe, and I've had to book it into a proper garage to pay again for balancing they should have done properly the first time.

They broke the wheel nut cover while forcing it off – snapped it with rough handling instead of using the right technique or tools. No apology, no replacement offered.No printed invoice or detailed receipt at all – nothing to show what was paid for, no breakdown of costs (tyre, fitting, call-out, mileage extras), just "job done" and they left. Impossible to verify or claim back anything.

Their website has no clear, upfront pricing – nothing listed for standard fitting, balancing (which they claim to include), call-out fees, or mileage surcharges. Everything stays hidden until you're stuck and already committed via phone payment. This forces people in emergencies – especially single parents or anyone panicking about getting to work – to pay a premium for rushed, substandard, and outright dishonest work.

This isn't professional tyre surgery; it's taking advantage of distress to extract money for half-done jobs that leave your car worse. I felt ripped off, disrespected, and now have extra costs and hassle fixing their mistakes. Avoid Mobile Tyre Surgeons completely – especially if you're in a vulnerable situation. Use a reputable chain with transparent prices, visible reviews, and no upfront demands. 0/10. Terrible experience – don't risk it. Warn your friends and family. As the advertising said they were based locally West Sussex.

I called these guys after they outsourced a technician who damaged my alloy whilst installing the new tyre.

I spoke to customer service of the outsourced garage as well as this company.

The tyre was incorrect too.

The damage they’ve caused is somewhat in excessive of £200 on a 19 inch alloy.

The outsourced technician was from a garage called 24/7 Oldham Tyre service - North west.

Do not use this company, they will outsource disgraceful service and they will not attend to any complaints.

The dumb customer care advisor was a disgrace and condescending.
