Middleton Nurseries is a family-run business based in the small village of Middleton, we began as a retail garden centre before focusing solely on our nursery, allowing John to pursue his passion for growing and breeding plants. Since then, we’ve grown into a leading supplier of hardy perennials, specialising in salvias, which we sell online and at RHS shows across the country. In 2021, Middleton Nurseries became a third-generation business when John’s children, James and Annabel, joined the team. Today, we combine decades of horticultural expertise with a passion for quality, growing over 300 varieties of salvias. Known for our high standards and reliable delivery, we’re proud to exhibit at RHS shows and play an active role in the wider horticultural industry.

Chelsea Salvias
I ordered the salvias after seeing them on a fantastic display at Chelsea. The plants were very small and not in great condition . One of the salvias had been cut back so was very small and has only recently started to grow .

We're sorry to hear that your salvias arrived smaller than expected and that one had been cut back. Some salvias are trimmed before dispatch to encourage healthy new growth, but we understand this can be disappointing when you're expecting a fuller plant.
We're pleased to hear it has now started to grow, and we hope it continues to thrive and reward you with plenty of beautiful blooms. Thank you for your support and for choosing Middleton Nurseries. 💚
Really healthy little plants
Really healthy little plants, and they arrived in good condition. Three geums that are now in flower and growing well. All the plants I have had from Middleton Nurseries have been really good quality. I will definitely order from them again if something catches my eye.

Delayed order attended to promptly.
I wasn't warned in advance not to order plants before Chelsea Flower Show as Chelsea obviously takes priority and creates a delay on other orders. Eventually my order was despatched but a week later, still no sign of the plants. I contacted Middleton nurseries and they looked into it straight away and discovered that the plants had been held at the parcel distributor for too long. They duly despatched a fresh set of plants by courier and these arrived the next day. Thank you Middleton Nurseries!

The Only Place for Salvias
I would not go anywhere else for my salvias. The sheer range of colours and types cannot be found anywhere else. They are always lush and healthy.

I thought it was great. The plant is beautiful and arrived in perfect condition - it even had flowers undamaged in transit. I knew when it was coming. I would certainly buy from this company again.

Absolutely excellent
I purchased a number of plants from Middleton Nurseries and they arrived today. This is my second year purchasing from this nursery. I purchased 12 plants and every one was perfect. They are very well packed and delivered within one day of dispatch. All the plants are healthy and quite large compared to others I have previously bought from other companies. I would highly recommend this nursery. Their communication is excellent and they do exactly what they say they will. I will buy again next year.
