Once again my account is hit with a violation where there isn't any. They do this to me regularly now. I bought shares with settled money and sold them again. What's the problem with that? They are joke company, who give all your orders to a third-party organization who trades them in the dark pools. I've really had enough. Merrill Edge is not fit for trading. I am absolutely sick of it, and there is no way to contact them. Phoning their number and talking to someone who is a JERK with you, will not resolve your issue, it never has in my experience with them.

I had to take money out of my account for required minimum distribution. On Feb 24 I requested it and they sent my money to Bank of America after calling them time after time! I use Chase. I have NEVER used Bank of America. I cannot even get them to fix it. And I only have Chase as my bank for over 50 yrs! It's ludicrous and NO ONE, after talking to seven people, told me how to fix it correctly!! Do NOT use Merrill edge. If I could scream at them I would. I'm so tired of messing with this!

I had the worst experience with Merrill Edge. I have a roth IRA account with Merrill and I need help to withdraw excessive contribution. Despite numerous in-person and phone call appointment, the only answer I got from them are 1) there is a form I need to fill 2) they could not offer any help in filling out that form. Mind you there is no guidance on their help center and website explaining how to fill out the form. Most other majors firms (like Fidelity) will fill out the necessary form for their customers. I got 0 help from Merrill Edge. Will stop using this company and transfer all my accounts to other brokerage firms.

I tried to cash in stock and they locked my account. It has been a month and I call them everyday and no one will talk to me. All they say is it is under review, I have done everything they have asked and nothing. They have left me no choice, we have contacted our attorney to handle this matter. It is unbelievable how they are treating me. This is not first time this has happened but will definitely be the last time.

Merrill has made huge errors in my IRA distributions for two consecutive months. Despite acknowledging the error, they have not only failed to correct it but continue to make it. The service team just says they're "looking into it." It's a uniquely incompetent financial institution that is unable to handle such a simple transaction. I'll be moving all investment, banking, and credit accounts to a more trustworthy brokerage.

I have been a using Merrill Edge for 16 years now since Bank of America bought them out. It is ok. I like how fast I can move money out of my Roth-IRA to my bank account or my regular brokerage account. I don't pay commission, so I trade for free, and options are only $0.65 a contract. Their interest on idle cash is terrible and they do not give you money for stock loans (IBKR does) as all brokerages loan stock. Also, when needing help, you get an American, not some foreigner whose English is not US English. Yes we may speak English but they call a band aide a plaster, vacuuming is hoovering, sneakers are trainers, dinner is tea time, we buy a round-trip ticket they say return, gas is petro, etc..

I regret that I opened an account with you, till date I did't receive the tax form 1099, I went to the branch and called tax dept. And they din't know even when they will issue the tax form and when it will be sent. Astonished that BOFA owned this company.

I would give Merrill Edge negative stars if possible. My wife and I have had a brokerage account for over a decade. At the end of January 2025 they liquidated ALL of our stocks without notice. A “hold” was placed on the account and when we both callled to find out the problem, and after speaking to MANY people - they cited the Patriot Act (no specific section) their member agreement (no specific section) and even one guy stated they make mistakes. Under NO circumstances should anyone use this company and if you are please get your money out!!!!

Merrill Edge's customer service experience has been extremely disappointing! Their lack of follow-up and inefficiency in handling even the simplest tasks required three separate phone calls to "possibly" resolve the issue. As a result of this unacceptable service, I have made the decision to liquidate all my accounts and take my business elsewhere. Save yourself the trouble and find a new brokerage / bank.

We had an IRA account with Merrill for almost 20 years. We recently opened a second brokerage account at Merrill. They held our domestic funds transfer for a week. We had access to our funds for two days, then they locked the account. After a month of phone calls and face-to-face contact, they finally unlocked our account. This was hours after we mentioned we were contacting a lawyer. All of this occurred between 11/13/24 to 12/18/24. We could do no trading, so lost money. Also, we had taken a disbursement (to help us during the loss of our home and belongings during Helene). We were unable to replace that money within the 60-day window of opportunity. This affects our taxes and medical insurance premium. Obviously, we immediately moved our accounts to another brokerage firm. We highly caution anyone who is considering using Merrill Edge brokerage services.

One hour on hold waiting for a representative. Finally gave up.

This place requires you to put 100k in order to open up a HYSA. If you try and withdraw ANY money your account gets frozen. Mine got got frozen for THREE months. Had to call numerous times. Showed several forms identification and even met with the VP to get my account sorted out. Even after all of that every time I try to wire money out to the SAME account with my name on it which should take hours at the most takes days and anyone knows who plays the stock market that by the time you get your money that opportunity is gone. Also they charge $30 for a same day which is fine but it NEVER happens same day. The fastest it's happened is 3 days and 5 phone calls.

These people hold your money hostage.

Bad news the place calls me up out of the blue saying I owe them my life the guys a loser don't no what he's talking about that bring back better for u lol any one who sees this be advised he will make up stories call u in future say u owe him loser

After five days of trying to log in, the team was unable to fix the issue. I think opening a Merrilledge account is the worst decision ever. I sense the Merrilledge IT staff acting like they're from the 1980s or 1990s. How can we comprehend that the tech staff spent more than five days unable to fix the log-in issue? I dont have words to say.

SCREW YOU MERRIL EDGE!!!! You’re bottom feeding scammers that can’t run a proper option trading platform. Constant lags and no real time. HOPE YIU DISAPPEAR!!! scammers

Tried to transfer money and take my mother’s name off of the account after she passed away. Spoke to 6 people and they still didn’t get it right. My daughter was a beneficiary, they charged her to get the money. After she got it, they wired 3 cents to her, which cost her $15. They have no clue what their doing

My funds was locked for a long period of time. They stopped replying me, Which was when I knew they were con artists. I got a recommendation to write 𝗟𝗲𝘅𝗼 𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲! It was processed by the legal office to release my deposit in no time

Merrill's services are very pathetic. Merrill has asked me some document which I have send through secure email. After one month to my surprise, my account has been terminated. When I called the bank, I have been told that it my doc (government issued document) was not approved and they have terminated my account and sent a check via mail which I have not received yet. I asked why I was not informed that the document is not approved they are going to terminate the account. The guy was very rude and told me that It's my responsibility to call the bank again and again to check the status of the document. I felt like the bank is not customer friendly at all. I regret my decision to open my account with Merrill.

After dropping a serious chunk of change with this company, all I got in return was a whirlwind of frustration and financial stress. Trying to get my money out of these clowns was like pulling teeth- endless delays, sketchy excuses, and their customer service? a total joke. They promised smooth sailing and reliable support, but it was all a pack of lies.

Honestly, I'm so done with their nonsense. Now, I'm rolling with echelonis elitus, and let me tell you, they're the real deal. Their top-tier offerings are pushing me to hit that seven-figure mark every month. if you want dependable, look no further - they've got my back, unlike those jokers on this platform.

Merrill Edge has literally held my fiancé's $500K retirement account funds hostage for over 4 months now. It's his money, but I have been personally involved in this entire process helping him, and it's been awful. Merrill Edge won't let him withdraw to do a rollover himself, won't accept a trustee-to-trustee transfer initiated by another bank, hours on the phone, lots of time wasted just waiting for a human to answer, then necessary information withheld, conflicting instructions and outright lies. Bounced from internal department to department. Each step accomplished is only ONE step that can be done by the person on the phone, and to do the next step we have to talk to a different person, and must call back the next (or two or three) days, because they "need time" to "process" the current step. ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
