Bought a one-sixty 400, and what a piece of garbage!
They're sold with wafer thin tubes, so expect lots of flat tyres until you buy your own quality tubes. Clearly the extra 30 cents per tube would eat into their profits too much. Headset bearings collapsed, rear wheel bearings started to bind, plastic hanger retainer split and let the hanger pop out, which then let the derailer hit the spokes, which bent the derailer, damage the spokes, bent the rim and took the paint off the mounting area. All within two months of purchase! And try to get parts, the dealer can't find the parts on their website, has nothing in stock, everything must be ordered, even though they sell literally thousands per yer, and the dealer says their warranty system takes too much time, so it's not worth it for $20, so I guess i'll just need to pay for everything! Steer clear, do yourself a favour and buy another brand.

I own a silex 4000 bike for 10 months and the frame has broken suddenly. Cracks are located at the saddle tube level. I never fell and there is no scratch or any dent on the bike. Obviously it is a defect in the carbon fiber but Merida does not accept his responsability although the bike shop agree with me. I am so disappointed with this brand I'm going to explain my bad experience on social networks to warn other customers.

Ya imaginaba que iba a encontrar una nota baja al buscar "opiniones" sobre está bici en Google.

Compré en una web una bici de esta marca. Llegó la rosca de la biela defectuosa y el pedal no roscaba; no sé si de fábrica o que la bicicleta ya había sido manipulada.
No quise forzarla y pasé reclamación al vendedor, pero también me puse en contacto con la marca oficial, quien me solicitó factura, vídeos y fotos de la incidencia. Lo mandé. Me contestaron que habían decido llevar la bicicleta al servicio técnico oficial y ellos emitirán un informe.
El resultado es que era mentira y se han desentendido. He podido recuperar íntegramente el dinero ya que pagué por PayPal. Eso es muy importante, pagar por PayPal para que no abusen de uno los vendedores.
Realmente la marca no tenía ninguna obligación, ya que la bici se compró mediante un distribuidor, pero se podrían haber ahorrado tanto rollo de vídeos, fotos y decirme que ellos se en encargaban y que iban a examinarla, si luego era todo pura palabrería.
Servicio al cliente se Mérida, nefasto y engañoso.

In January 24 ordered Silex 7000 arrived in August! Because of bad size ordered smaller one, with deliver date promised in September. So when today I was told that bike may be available in January 25 (still for new 24 model pre-order price of course) I cancelled the order and never want to see this German sh*t again. The worst bike company I´ve ever met.

I’m riding my Reacto now for the second year. Great bike, no problems. When I was in the market for a new bije went to their experience centre to try one out. Super friendly and supportive. Also quick answers on emails.

He comprado 2 bicicletas montañeras nuevas, de esta marca, y lamentablemente una de ellas tiene un desperfecto en la soldadura del cuadro, la soldadura esta incompleta, la llevo al distribuidor donde la compre en Madrid, y recibo como respuesta vía email de Mérida que ellos no consideran ningún desperfecto. Que si ocurre algo mas adelante se considerara la garantía. Que control de calidad es este? Es una bicicleta que debió ser considerada outlet o de segunda mano. Si llega a corroerse la bicicleta inmediatamente dirán que no lo cubre la garantía.

Another ghost company without any customer support.

I am about to buy a brand new bike. After selecting what I wanted on their website, I used the 'contact us' link to make sure it is possible to receive an answer within an acceptable delay.

Unsurprisingly, no answer here whatsoever. Not even an automatic email confirming they received the request. I suppose they are not interested in actually selling bikes. I am glad I tried to contact them to confirm the service quality. If they dont reply when you offer to buy a brand new bike, I can't imagine what happen if you contact them for support or warranty claim.

UPDATE - I eventually ordered the bike online, having it deliver to the bike shop because 'dirct sales' apparently does not means direct sales. I got a call from the shop today (they are excellent) and they told me the bike came with fenders (I assume small ones as I could never get in touch with the support services to confirm how the look or if I can purchase the bigger ones). Im also did not purchase the extra derailleur hanger I wanted because again, the support is simply nonexistent.
I plan to do the maintenance myself and I do not plan of using the warranty in anyway, but you are better off buying a bike on Aliexpress. You ll receive more help from the manufacturer there.

After picking up the bike from the shop with a few scratches (cant have direct sales if you cant have direct sales), I was waiting for the survey email Merida site claim I would receive after purchase to obtain a discount on future purchases.

Needless to say, I never received anything, most likely because they do n't want to deal with negative feedback. I still have tons of questions regardign accessories I want to buy and that I see on the site, but no details, no specs, and since they never reply, this is just a waste of time.

I am interested to understand the stem integrated mount and buy mounts compatible with it, I am interested in purchasing the large fender they advertise on their site without showing any pictures.

All and all, it is a website from 50 years ago, with a company stuck in the past that cannot be bothered to answer the customer questions or maintain a proper website where the users could find the information themselves.

I will by my accessories elsewhere for the ones that I don't 3D print myself. I doubt Merida as a brand will still be in business in the next 5 years unless they radically change the way they deal with customers.

So Basically, if you don't know much about bikes, do not buy there, you will be lost
If you know about bikes, do not buy there because you are just going to get frustrated with their complete lack of professionalism.

I bought a Marida E-Onesixty 10k eMTB second hand from my local dealer after catching the eMTB bug. I had bought a second hand Haibike Full 7 Sduro and loved it but needed something better for downhilling rough tracks in the hills around me in rural Aberdeenshire. The bike was less than a year old with low mileage and was a great buy for the price. Its handling and down hill abilities have been great as has its ‘rock hopping’ abilities. I’ve done about 700 miles on mainly rough Landrover tracks. I am 57 and no expert but i really noticed the increase in abilities between the two bikes.
The first issue I had was the battery cover does not fit snug to the frame. I’m not sure whether it’s intended to fit a little proud of the frame but it looks pretty poor as it only really does it on one side or the other. This allows water and crap to enter, although not in excess, but it looks bad.
The next thing is that the power socket on the bike has stopped working. It was fairly obvious this was going to happen as the plug sat flat, face up, in a hollow at the top of the motor where the seat tube and down tube meet. It’s perfect for collecting water and even has a lip on either side to keep water in(!). So, as expected, with winter usage, the charging socket has stopped working. I assume it’s corrosion as the metal connectors have gone green. I had sprayed it with GT85 regularly but given winter conditions in `Scotland it has not survived. In my view it’s a design flaw: why would you put a power socket to any e-bicycle, facing upwards on a flat surface with a raised lip around it. Especially an eMTB designed for the harshest of conditions. (Raising it above the surface would have gone some way to lifting out of an area collecting water.) It’s things like this which really make a design look very poor and overshadow what is an excellent bike, hence the three stars.
I now have to charge the battery off the bike.
Hopefully the warranty is still good and my friendly dealer will sort it once the weather improves.
****UPDATE****
Early this summer, 2024, the battery fell out of its holder whilst i was doing 20 - 30 mph on a descent along a rough Landrover track. There was cosmetic damage to the battery but fortunately it still works. My local bike shop said it was due to the screws holding the battery bracket had come loose, causing it to lose grip of the battery. An easy fix but not reassuring knowing this may happen again; I have bungied the cover to the bike now to prevent the battery falling out should the bracket come loose again. Evidently Erica have changed how the battery is attached to the bike on newer models.

For mig virkede gearne fint den første dag men dernæst til den næste dag kunne gearne værken skrifte op eller ned. Lad vær med at køb fra MERIDA!!!

Mein Merida Ride Rennrad hab ich seit über 5 Jahren und ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Rahmen, alles andere hab ich zwischenzeitlich austauschen lassen. Es wiegt unter 10kg mit allem drum und dran und ist für den Preis von früher ein sehr guter Kauf, ich glaube jetzt ist es viel teurer neu.

Really poorly built bike.
Gears keep unsyncing, brakes are really poor, crank has developed a squeak with less than 150 mile of use.
Buy some things else

La bicicleta recibida ha funcionado bien pero me fastidió que en la web aparecía como disponible pero tardaron más de dos meses en poderla entregar.
