Excellent cleaning power
Excellent cleaning power. One sheet does an average load. As good as any washing powder or liquid I've used before. The only small criticism there is not much scent which is fine in the summer when clothes are dried outside but not so much when tumbled bad weather.

Many thanks for the scent feedback, it is noted and we have other products coming with more stronger fragrances. We tried to start with a subtle fragrance to appeal to more people and some find it too strong so we do our best.
I can give you a couple of tips which may be better than us adding more fragrance: a few drops of essential oils into a glass of water and pour that into your dispenser. That way you can naturally fragrance for washing with anything you wish lavender orange et cetera.
There are fragrance beads out there but beware they are heavily and artificially fragranced but you could add those to the wash also.
One important tip is to ensure the filter is clean/unblocked of the pump and do a service wash every month as that will enhance any fragrance in melt quite a lot.
Also ensure towels and bedding are washed at 60 Celsius, ideally with a little white vinegar as that will ensure a fresher finish before and after tumbling.

Excellent Results Excellent ECO Friendly Product.
I have been using melt laundry strips for several months now, I have had brilliant results with my laundry using one, two or three strips depending on the type of wash, the smell is really pleasant and not overpowering. It's cleaning power is excellent. But in addition to all these benefits I have managed to reduce the enormous amount of single use plastic I was formerly creating buying liquid detergents. These packs take up very little space in my kitchen and the strips are quickly and easily added to the wash, no more messy liquid to measure out! Brilliant!

Why I prefer Melt
I have tried many alternatives to traditional washing powders and liquids, but have never been satisfied with their ability to clean effectively. Melt is different. I find that two wafers are plenty, and what I really love is the way my washing smells when dry- lovely! Extra stubborn stains may need a little pre-treatment, but this was also needed with other laundry products.
The subscription is easy to manage, and the box takes up no space in the cupboard-wins all round.

Hi Jaki, thank you so much for subscribing to us and also for your wonderful and detailed review which echoes what we are trying to achieve so thanks very much.
It's also possible to save some detergent by placing some or all the strips into the centre of the load (in the clothes) as they dissolve well and that spreads the detergent more evenly it may save you half a strip per wash. It's a new method we found in the last couple of months.
Yes as for stains a good hack is a trigger spray, a strip of melt and water preferably warm or make a paste with half a strip and some water and treat stain for 30 minutes before washing.
We have a fully natural stain-removing soap made to an old Roman recipe which works incredibly well and should be out in the next few months.

In a word, fantastic.
We love the smell of our clothes from this! Melt really nails the fragrance aspect. The packaging is easy to store, recyclable and being non-plastic ticks a big 'good for the environment' box for us. Our clothes actually feel softer without additives and my wife reports that her jumpers look like they have been 'rejuvenated', better now than ever. In a word, the product is fantastic. And though we haven't been travelling much these days, we really like the travel size box. Melt should make a really big deal about this as it can go into hand luggage as not liquid. Get it into Boots at the airports, team!

We've had similar feedback about the feel of softness post wash, especially in natural fibres. Many people have dispensed with fabric softeners as a result.
We now believe it is down to the softness of the water in an area and the that Melt allows soft water especially to work its magic and strip out old detergent residue. Previously if you have used liquid or pods you may have used too much for soft water (pods give no choice!) and residue can clog/harden fibres to the touch. Albeit at a micro level.
Yes great idea about the Airport Shops & Boots it is on our list! We are in discussion since last year with several Airlines (online boutique) and Melt is been rolled out across several cruise lines from this month so like you we think we can own that sector with our dry travel wash product.

Amazing product, my washing machine is much cleaner and my washing dries quicker. Love the smell. Only downside is that it's a bit expensive for a family of 5. 10kg washing machine needs 3 sheets! As stated on the box 1 sheet per 3kg

Hi Rhonwen, many thanks for taking the time to review and it's great to hear your feedback I also hope the information I'm about to give you it will help reduce the amount of Melt strips used and therefore your cost.
Obviously I use Melt in my laundry and the largest load I do is a 9 kg load of my sons rugby team kit all 15 of them and usually very muddy! We live in a very hard water area (more detergent needed) and I never use more than 1.5 strips.
The results are brilliant every time. Using more does not improve the performance for us. Also don't forget Melt has a subtle fragrance.
Here's what I suggest you do to reduce the three sheets to 1.5 or 2 max:
1) Ensure your machine has had an empty hot service wash (white vinegar and bicarb of soda only) and the pump filter cleaned. Repeat this before every box of Melt.
2) Put at least one strip into the very centre of the clothes and the rest tear them and put them on the top of the sides of the drum. This will reduce the amount that you use and improve the performance as the detergent gets to work all the way through the wash much faster.
That's it... so try 1.5 then 2 strips from now on with that big load and you should be fine as I looked up your postcode and do you have soft water so you may even be able to reduce that a bit further. Don't forget you can tear the strips.
Many people forget that laundry pods also specify two or even three pods for large loads.
Either way let us know how you get on and if you manage to use two I think that's pretty good value for a 10 kg load with so many garments in there but let us know and if you think that's worth five stars that'll be great.

Good washing results and fragrance.
I’ve been a long term user of eco washing brands but liquid and powder. I tried a different brand of these sheets and whilst I liked the concept, I wondered if there was a British company and that’s when I found Melt.
I tried the sample pack first, it washed well and smelt fresh, so I was happy to order my first batch. We’re expecting our second big box any day, which tells you we’re happy with the switch. My machine is also cleaner with no slimy residue.
We were running low quicker than anticipated, but using the website to tweak the period between deliveries was easy enough to do.
I like that it’s also good for hand washing jumpers and delicates, and that will be handy for holidays too.

We agree with what you say and that's why I melt is so popular I think, that we designed it first and foremost as a product that really cleans clothes well and that also is eco not just eco.
Part of the reason is that our strips contain a special kind of bio-enzyme which breaks down stains whilst also disappearing at the end of the wash so won't affect any allergies. So far as we know there are no other strips with these enzymes as they are pretty expensive to include in a formulation.
We have other products coming out soon one is a specialist product with a luxurious aroma for delegates like Kashmir but yes you can also use the strips if you want just a subtle fresh fragrance.

Its a great point and one we hold dear to. Now we are up and running, we are working on a Melt Naked : version of melt with no laminate and zero fragrance a really stripped back version.
We won't lie we will then only be saving 1 g of plastic compared to original Melt yes times by a few million it's another improvement versus Ecover or a big brand bottle/pod box
The zero fragrance strips are cleaning very well in tests much better than we expected actually so its looking good.

Phenomenal alternative to detergent in plastic bottles and liquid capsules. Have been using them for a month and am a convert for life !
