Business entity not found in state registry — verify before ordering
I began the process of setting up a wholesale account with Medcare Distributor and want to share my experience for other Amazon FBA/FBM sellers doing due diligence.
Communication with their sales team (Olivia Matthews) was responsive and professional throughout. However, before placing an order, I conducted standard vendor verification and found a few concerns:
The "Certificate of Incorporation" provided did not match standard formatting for the entity type — it referenced provisions typically used for corporations (e.g., shares of stock, an "Incorporator") rather than the terminology used for LLCs (membership interests, an "Organizer"), despite the entity being named as an LLC.
When I searched "Medcare Distributor LLC" directly through the New York Department of State's official business entity database, no matching business entity was found.
I was unable to independently locate a founding date, company leadership, or business history through public sources.
Based on these findings, I chose not to move forward with an order. I'd encourage other sellers to independently verify any distributor's business registration through their state's official Secretary of State (or equivalent) database before sending payment or sensitive business documents.
I have not made a purchase from this company and cannot speak to product quality or fulfillment.
