I went in for an oil change this…

I went in for an oil change this morning. The two gentlemen that were working the counter were super helpful. I informed them of my tire gage sensor still showing on my dashboard and they had their mechanic look into it. I had previously went there for a tire issue a few months back and the sensor light was showing on the dash once I left however, I did not get a chance to go back over until my oil change.

The team was able to identify the issue and took care of it. The mechanic worked diligently on getting everything completed in a timely manner. I was in and out in about an hour, I'm sure it would have been less time than that but they were busy so I was happy with an hour.

This is our go to Mavis for tires and oil changes on our vehicles and are extremely satisfied with our experiences with everyone that we come into contact with at this Mavis. THANK YOU!

Attention pleaseNew year same review do not use the shop for any mechanical work. Took my car for an oil change told them a hub bearing was going out. They said that they could do the work in one day. They broke my axle while replacing my hub bearing and also the front sensors that is connected to the front hub bearing took a week to get my car back three weeks later my transmission started to slip on my wife's car that they did the CV joint on. I left a review had to get my wife a new transmission that cost me thousands corporate reached out due to my review and said that they would take care of it and apologize for the phone calls the way they talk to my wife in the office and the way they want about the whole situation they said, can you submit paperwork from your transmission shop? I did so corporate called back and said that wasn't enough information on the paperwork it showed that my CV joint was leaking from transmission and that my transmission was shot so he sent the manager from the shop who originally performed the messed up work out to my transmission shop we all know how that went. Their manager told the corporate that they weren't responsible so so corporate called me and told me that if I bring it to a shop of their choice that they would give me $1000 towards a new transmission what a joke I spent that in rental cars for my wife in the past two months so if you wanna shop who takes advantage of women and of people in general and a corporate that matches their energy, this is the shop for you

Amazing customer service

The gentleman at the desk (Dave)greeted me then explained that they were having computer issues. I appreciate him being straight forward with me. Dave was great at communicating with me through the whole process. The tech that worked on my car did a great job. Quality work and completed quickly. When I was leaving Dave thanked me for my patience. I appreciate the way Dave handled himself and was able to stay positive with all of the computer issues. Most people would not have handled it as great as he did. Overall a 10 star experience.

How can they improve

How can they improve? Good question not hire a bunch of boneheads to run their store I had decent luck at the one in New Port Richey Florida but I made a big mistake and took my car to the one in Hudson Florida.. You got two guys not sure which one was the manager I asked the one His name was Charles was he the manager He said yes The other guy was acting like the manager but Charles was shaking his head like don't ask him either and he was being sarcastic actually the other guy Long story short I was going in to get my AC replaced They ain't giving me a decent quote I had used the store down in New Port Richey and had a good good experience with them and so we get the AC put in I go pick it up Miss Hopkins we got your car ready I go start it up I go down just to block down the parking lot towards the Publix parking lot and I turn around and bring it back because it sounds my car sounds like a moped so the guy named Charles he gets in the car I'll let him drive it sit right there I said what do you think that is He said I don't know I said it sounds kind of like a holes in the muffler Is there possibility I'll drop my car and there's a hole in the muffler You said I don't know let me go get the mechanic so he pulls it back into the garage goes get a guy named Will comes out and drives it around the block and I said can that be the muffler Is it it could be a muffler He knew it wasn't a muffler long story short a few days later we don't they don't put it up on the put it up in the air to check anything out to see if anything the belt is loose or anything like that I take my girlfriend to the doctor I'm coming back by and right in front of the store my belt breaks and by the time I get to the corner and circle back through Publix parking lot into their parking lot My car's running hot They still don't have a clue They're making making looks at one another like they know something He pulls up he pulls the belt out and it's busted I said the job take that belt off when you put in the AC Yes ma'am I said did you see anything wrong with No just that it was old I had to ask him I told him if there's anything that you notice let me know I said I've got someone coming to do my tie rods and my valve cover gasket but anything else you see let me know needs to be replaced nobody had said a word He still doesn't say that it's in their fault and he brings me out a estimate on what the replace the radiator and the belt for radiator however is busted and there's antifreeze going all over the floor..
He gave me a price of 1407 I think and he acts like he's giving me a deal I'm called the tow truck and we wait till he gets there get my friend who is disabled We don't have her wheelchair ask him do they have a chair in the place with wheels on it No they don't But yet we see we'll sitting on but we can't get her out of the car and put the car up see what possibly making the noise that made the belt break anyway I tow. the car home. The air conditioners working but is not blowing cold air I don't think they even put enough Freon in it for it to blow cold AC and they charge me $35 for an oil that they put in the compressor then my mechanic said it he hope they put it in there cuz it might be the reason it's not blowing cold I said Well they charge me $35 for an oil that they were supposed to put in there and I don't know that they did because nothing they did they did something wrong with the belt because it broke and it was making the noise like a moped you know moped one of those little scooter motorcycle scooters loud It's not making that anymore wants the belt was off the noise went away and put the belt I've got the belts and a new radiator on there now and the noise is not there so I feel like they did something wrong but I feel like they're a bunch of boneheads with trying to be cute and sarcastic and non-helpful. I see a 74 year old woman on social security I think they thought I had money They bring me this thing out $8.99 for this and whatever I got it fixed for $442.67 Thank God for honest mechanics. Would you take it back to that place to see about the air not blowing cold hell no I'm not taking it back to them I'm taking it to someone else tomorrow to see why it's not blowing full It's blowing cool but not cool not freeon cool. If you're in Florida don't go to Mavis they're a training facility there's got to be a more mature and older man supervising or you going to get messed with about a bunch of boneheads like Charles and whatever the other guys name was

Both of the gentlemen in the front…

Both of the gentlemen in the front office, they’re awesome. They were busy on Monday before Christmas Eve day and he made sure that I got in on Christmas Eve day in the morning cause he knows I’ve been sick. They are always so nice. They changed my tires and gave me an oil change within an hour And I go there all the time with all my cars. I have three cars.

My “go to” shop.

Mavis has become my “go to” shop. They have always given me honest answers and are willing to work with me. I understand that not every need can be met but they’ll do their best every time. Kudos to Jim for his great service and friendly attitude. It’s nice to be called by my first name and not Mr Marro.

Misleading prices

I unfortunately had a negative experience with Mavis and was completely mislead on the cost of purchasing and installing new tires- I would not recommend this business.
On July 11, 2023 I logged onto the Mavis website to determine the cost of two new tires and it showed me the total price before tax would be $477.98.  On the website it said “appointment special,” but mentioned nothing about this being an online only price.  I happen to live about a mile away from this Mavis location so while I was out running errands that day I stopped into make the appointment and order the two new tires.  
I came in for that appointment on July 14th, 2023 at 11:00 and waited  two and a half hours for service to be completed.  When my vehicle was finally finished I found that it was parked out front of the store, unlocked.  I went inside to pay for the service and was given a price of $577.54 before tax.
I assumed that the price I saw online was quoted without labor or tire disposal and that they had mislead me with the online price; I didn’t want to argue about the price when I assumed I had made a mistake so I paid.  After getting home I realized that I had been taken for about $100 because the price online did include all of the labor/service/disposal fees.  Additionally, I had been charged $19.99 per tire for the TPMS system to be “checked.”  The service technician that worked on my vehicle didn’t even bother to reset the TPMS system so I have absolutely no faith that they did anything to “check” my sensors.  
I decided to return the next day on July 15th, 2023 and spoke with the same manager who charged me the inflated price for my tires and service.  I explained to him that I had been completely mislead by the price quoted online (which no where on the webpage said it was an online only price) and showed him the quote.  I also expressed my disgust in that my TPMS system was never even reset despite my having been charged $19.99 for each tire to have it “checked.”  The service manager gas lighted me and told me there wasn’t really a charge for that, even though you can clearly see it on the bill.  He told me online prices are different than in store prices, even though it is expressed no where on the website or in the store and refused to honor the difference.  The service manager finally told me that he would check with upper management and attempt to see if I could get a refund or “maybe a free oil change” and that he would call me back on Monday (July 16, 2023).  The service manager then told me he would refund me one of the $19.99 TPMS fees and gave me a whole $20 back, he also insisted that he would call me Monday with an update.
I never heard from him again.  
This company is misleading customers with prices and giving no warning to customers.  When I made the appointment in person they should have told me I would be paying a higher cost for doing business in person but they did no such thing.  
I did receive the tires that I ordered, they did put the two new tires on the rear as I requested but otherwise this company failed in every other aspect.  I was charged fees for services not performed, expected to wait an extensive period of time despite having an appointment, scammed on the price, and experienced subpar customer service.
I will not return to a Mavis, in the future I will take the extra time and distance to go to Costco for my tire needs.
