Made an online appointment for NYS Inspection; excellent communication throughout (pre-appointment confirmation; reminders). Dropped car off for appointment; was told it would be 1-2 hours but it was done much sooner. Was called at home and all was ready under an hour. Mavis is my "go to" auto repair shop for everything -- basic services but also more extensive repairs. Thank you for the continuing excellent service!

Deceptive Marketing; Sub-Standard Parts
After only 13 months and 9,000 miles since having Mavis Discount Tire in Pleasantville, NY replace my front and rear brake pads and rotors on my Hyundai Sonata, I was experiencing noise again in the rear brakes. They said I needed new rear brake pads and rotors again. I asked how could that be as I got nearly 50,000 miles on the original Hyundai set and they had no answer. They said the brake pad parts would be free since my previous replacement came with a lifetime warranty but I would have to pay for labor and the parts and labor for the rotors because they were 1 month out of the 12-month warranty. They quoted me a high price and I showed them a Mavis coupon that would make the parts and labor for both the brake pads and rotors cheaper. However, they said they could not honor even part of the $50 coupon because they were giving me the brake pads for free under warranty. They said only if I had never had the work done before could they honor the coupon and give me the lower price! Not only are their marketing practices deceptive but they use substandard parts that should have lasted a lot longer. I'm done with Mavis forever.

NYS inspection - quick and thorough
I arrived at 8:00am and requested a NYS inspection without an appointment. They performed a thorough inspection while I waited, and were done by 9:00am. They also honored a $5.00 online discount coupon.
