Mavis called me that car was ready for…

Mavis called me that car was ready for pickup and I asked for a ride from work only to find out that car wasn’t even ready instead it was on the lift and had to wait 1 hour for the service to be done. Could have stayed at work longer and avoided the waiting

Came in on a Sunday to get a tire. Steve was extremely kind, helpful, and honest. I read people well, and he genuinely cared for my safety. I was recommended to have additional work done (which was not a surprise to me). He explained everything to us. I even called him when I got home with additional questions/concerns. Very trustworthy and caring. I highly recommend. Trust as well as kindness is very important to me. Steve portrayed both. Thank you. Dawn

Formal Complaint – Unresolved Tire Repair Issue & Poor Customer Service

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service I received at your Islandia store on February 11, 2025. What should have been a simple tire plug ended up costing me an entire tire due to what I believe was improper service and negligence.

That morning, I visited your store to have a punctured tire repaired. After paying for the service, I left, assuming the issue was resolved. However, shortly after, I noticed my tire pressure sensor fluctuating. I initially thought the sensor needed time to reset and proceeded to work. At the end of my shift, I discovered my tire was completely flat again—the very same one I had just paid to have repaired.

At 5:58 PM, I called the store and spoke with Steve, who had assisted me earlier that morning. He assured me that if I returned, they would address the issue. Upon arrival, the store manager, Joe, inspected my tire and informed me that there was another nail in my tire, just ½ inch away from the initial repair. However, I find it highly unlikely that I picked up an additional nail within 12 hours, especially in such close proximity to the original puncture.

Rather than acknowledging the possibility of an improper repair, the staff attempted to convince me that my workplace (Servpro) was responsible for the second nail. Steve himself admitted that it was more plausible that the original technician, Al Coqnata, had mistakenly created a second puncture while plugging the tire. Joe demonstrated the leak using a soap solution and then attempted to sell me a new tire for over $220. The upselling, combined with the deflection of blame, was extremely frustrating and unprofessional.

Given the circumstances, I declined the offer and requested that my spare tire be installed instead. While waiting, I spoke with another manager and requested the names of the employees who worked on my car, as well as corporate’s contact information. During this conversation, I learned that this location was considered a failing store and that the technician who worked on my car was actually being terminated that day. Additionally, another customer had returned the same day for a repeat repair, further raising concerns about the quality of service.

As a former operations supervisor, I find the way this situation was handled entirely unacceptable. If a customer returns with the same issue after a repair, the correct course of action would be to prioritize customer trust and ensure the job is done right. Instead, the store failed to provide proof of the alleged “second nail” before removing it, which would have been the easiest way to convince me that a replacement was necessary.

That same evening, I contacted corporate to file a complaint. Two days later, I received a voicemail from Area Manager Liz, stating that she had reviewed the security footage and found no negligence. However, I find this response laughable—there is no way the store’s cameras are of such high quality that they could identify two separate nails in a black tire. If such technology exists, I would certainly be interested in purchasing it for my current business.

Liz also reiterated that the store did nothing wrong and only offered me a discounted tire—something that was never actually offered to me at the time. In fact, Joe specifically stated that there was little flexibility on tire pricing and quoted me $170+ for the tire alone and over $200 with labor.

I followed up with corporate a second time in hopes of escalating my complaint, but I have yet to receive a response from the area manager’s supervisor. I informed corporate that if my concerns remained unaddressed, I would be left with no choice but to share my experience publicly.

I am extremely disappointed in the lack of accountability and poor customer service I experienced. I expect a proper resolution to this matter and would appreciate a response detailing what steps will be taken to address this issue.

Absolute worst experience I've ever had…

Absolute worst experience I've ever had at a car shop! Filed complaint on better Business bureau they have 2 stars out of 5 and thousands of complaints in the past year,488 in the past 2 months.
Brought my brand new vehicle in for an inspection when I went to pick it up there was a deep scratch on my driver side door right smack in the middle! When I told the manager he asked the service person who worked on it and he just shrugged his shoulder and turned white then he denied it. A lot of lies I had to deal with, first they said there was foam around the metal Bar near the door where it would have been opened, that's a lie there is no bumper of any kind. Then they said you could see everything from the camera; that's a lie you cannot see anything when the car door is open nor can you see a quarter of the parking lot where my car was parked, then the regional manager Elizabeth who was rude from day one and never got back to me for 2 weeks, claimed that my collision guy said that it must have been a disgruntled girlfriend since the scratch looks like the letter g she said they wrote that in an email to her-that was an outright lie because I went to my collision guy and they showed me the email they sent to her and all they sent her was customer came in with scratch done at Mavis and the estimate of $937. I have Elizabeth on recording saying this and proof of it being a lie so I will be taking that to court with me. So she lied to me three times and this is a regional manager of Mavis! I spoke to three collision people and they all said they get cars that were damaged from this Mavis very often in fact one of them is working on one with $13,000 worth of damage right now. Do yourself a favor take pictures of your car a video before you bring it there they are unethical unprofessional and very rude to deal with! I have been bringing my car there for years I just spent $3,500 on it two weeks ago and this is the treatment I get! I have called the number below with no success many times, this is another lie. call me, you know my # claim#941105.

Picked up a screw in my tire on my way…

Picked up a screw in my tire on my way in to work. And was heading out to Pennsylvania that afternoon. Drove over to Mavis as soon as soon as i saw the screw and they took me right in. Luckily, was early in the AM and there were only a few customers waiting at that point. They plugged and wet tested the tire and i was out in 15 minutes. Thanks guys !

DO NOT GET YOUR CAR SEVICED HERE! Went for a wheel alignment, and my car was driving worse than how it was driving before I brought it in. Had to go to a different Mavis location for the job to be completed the correct way. I can also speak on a time where my brother got an oil change at the Islandia location and had oil all over his mats inside the car. You guys need to look into getting better workers or better management at this Islandia location. It's really not fair to us paying customers.
