Founded in 2014 by Matea Saule, the brand began with a memory: her grandmother, a dressmaker in Banja Luka, who left finished dresses hanging on a rail when the family fled Bosnia in 1996. Love it!
Perfect sizing. White maxi skirt was exactly as pictured. Comfortable and lightweight material without looking cheap. Perfect for dressing up and casual wear. Delivery times were pretty good- received my package in around a week & a half. Would recommend.

Bought the Arabella Black Lantern…
Bought the Arabella Black Lantern Sleeve Dress, and it is well made from cheap fabric. The belt is like a ribbon as it’s so thin and the dress is completely see through. The slit shown on the photos does not exist and the dress is totally shapeless. What a waste of money on an expensive rag.

Hi Dina, we're sorry to hear you weren't happy with the item you purchased. There is a side split on both sides of the dress, the model in the first image on our website is pulling the dress up on her leg - hence the slipt looks like it is huge and goes all the way up the leg, however if you look through the remiander of the images it shows how the dress sits on the body usually. The dress is not a fitted garment, so it won't shape the body per se. We're terribly sorry to hear that you feel like you have wasted your money and are more than happy to replace the garment with something else of your choice or refund your money - no problem at all. Please reach out to our team via info@mateadesigns.com.au if you wish to return the garment. We certainly don't want you feeling like you've had a bad experiance. We always do our best to select a quality fabric and our prices are based off the fact that we are a boutique brand and make only very limited number of pieces her style. We're not a fast fashion brand so we do believe our prices are reasonable, taking into consideration we don't mass produce anything.
