Great paperless production & document control.

Product performs very well. Workflows, data vaults and roles freely configurable and allows for rather individualized roles and rights.
Support, service work very solution oriented and issue support reports quite fast.

Solid QMS for Compliance, but Requires Time to Master

MasterControl is a strong and reliable quality management system, especially for companies operating in regulated industries like pharmaceuticals or medical devices. It really helps centralize document control, training, and quality processes, and it significantly improves audit readiness and compliance.
One of the biggest advantages is how everything is integrated into a single platform.
Managing training records and workflows in one place makes collaboration much easier and reduces manual errors. The system is robust and clearly built with compliance in mind.
That said, the platform does come with a learning curve. Some features are not very intuitive, and new users may need proper training to use it effectively. In addition, parts of the interface feel a bit outdated, and implementation or configuration can be time-consuming.
Overall, MasterControl is a great solution if your organization needs a comprehensive and compliant QMS, but you should be prepared to invest time in onboarding and setup to get the most value out of it.

Overall, my experience has been positive. However, there are areas that could be improved, such as the search functionality and the inability to customize reports without an additional cost.

Overall Positive

Our current experience with MasterControl has been overly positive -- there is a lot of information to learn, and onboarding may take some time to understand the capabilities of the software system. Once you get a hang of the terminology used throughout the system, you will be a master at MasterControl!

The consultants and user support has been 5-stars, so far, as we have only been working with MC for 3 months. We will see how this review develops over time.

The service engineer has addressed the…

The service engineer has addressed the issue however there was a significant delay in the resolution of the issue. The restructuring of the service department lead to a significant decline my satisfaction with the support services. MasterControl has always excelled in the TAM services and this decline is troubling and I cannot longer rate as a high satisfaction rate.

Easy to Use-Quick Results

This have been going well. I am able to get answers quickly and they are very helpful. It's a better one-stop-shop for my end users accessing the help as well versus having to dig into the academy and other places for answers.

Great document program

We really got MC to help with documents, and it made life infinitely easier. We appreciate the ease in which documents can be modified without the accompanying spreadsheets and signatures.

When contacting support / Support of Documents and Training

When contacting support, it takes a very long time to get answers. It seems they give work arounds and not always an actual solution. Some tickets are open for months before actually being addressed.
Functionality could be better, when new products to the existing platform are released, MasterControl seems to forget about the older platforms that are very heavily used by a lot of users, such as; Documents and Training. There is so much room for improvement on what is the current practice. All effort is always pointing to the new platform additions. We do not use them. Don't forget about where you started and the customers who rely on that platform.

Data management is much smoother with Master Control. We also easily establish traceability and can cross-connect with other departments, speeding up our audits and providing an extra layer of assurance.

Very slow response time

Very slow response time. CS0098850 was issued on 10/3/2025 to integrate MFA and it takes the MC rep about 1 month to reply to each question and is still not resolved.

I think Master Control recognizes the issues that a customer experiences when implementing a system and has very efficiently provided the tools required to ease the customer at every stage of the implementation.
