The lodge not only provides job opportunities for members of its neighbouring towns: it also seeks to be a partner in the region’s development, setting it on a more sustainable path for the future.

- Ride on the Dragonfly Canopy Gondola and glide high amongst the tree-line and take in nature’s masterpiece or take to the many paths and trek within, marveling at numerous rivers and falls. Stand at a distance and perceive how each part comes together to form the whole and then experience it up-close. - Located at a former lumber mill, Mashpi Lodge was built using the latest techniques in sustainable construction in order to prevent damage to the forest, with much of the structure having been preassembled in Quito and designed around the topography of the site to prevent further damage to the trees. Reconnect with nature
Knowledgeable guides who share their love of nature and showed the quiet beauty of Mashpi. The trails are narrow and a bit slippery at points, but I (65yo in ok shape) was able to do with an occasional helping hand. Swim in the waterfall pool if you get the chance - it’s so worth it!! And the food was superb as were the cocktails. A most memorable trip.
