My heating…
In February 2025 I had a heat pump fitted and an upgraded heating system, every body I dealt with in the planning stages were helpful ,and answered all my queries giving me confidence to agree to the contract.
The contractors fitting the system were friendly and professional and carried out the work with as little disruption to me as was possible.
The heating has now been operating for nine months, giving me ample hot water and keeping the temperature of my home up to the expected level.
So far I am very happy with installation, the one negative being the bathroom radiator fouled the door more than i was expecting, I have had this changed.
Questionable aftercare

I wanted to wait at least a year before leaving a review. Everything was going well until the installation and aftercare. We've had no end of problems with our heat pump. The installers rushed the job as a year later at our annual service it was discovered they never set our radiators properly so we'd been spending more on trying to heat our house because the radiators weren't getting hot enough. Then the isolator switch wasn't waterproofed properly so it filled with rainwater and caused the heating to trip the whole house. We now have another problem that the heat pump isn't turning off. The main issue I have with the company is there's no one available to call at the weekend so we had a very cold Sunday with no heating! Plus they close at 2pm on Fridays so now we probably won't have an engineer come visit until Tuesday. They were good though when I kicked up a stink about needing someone to come asap as temps outside were 4c and they did then manage to rearrange their bookings to send someone out the same day. I just wish they had an emergency number to call like you'd have with other heating companies.

Great Service All Round
We have had a heat pump and underfloor heating fitted at our property and we are really happy with the service Marvel provided. From the beginning there was never any hard sell, always very transparent and making sure the solution was right before going ahead. They’ve been able to answer and questions or doubts we’ve had with ease. They have also been really accommodating of our schedule as we have had ongoing property renovations, and I’ve been really appreciative of this as it’s helped take a lot of stress away. The lads who came and fitted the pump and underfloor were not only quick but really neat in their work. Would recommend them to anyone.
A good design let down by installation frustration
From the initial contact the experience started positively. Kevin visited our property, explained the process clearly, confirmed suitability for a heat pump with minor plumbing changes, and outlined costs, referral schemes, and review incentives. He addressed our concerns about hot water usage and energy efficiency thoughtfully. After minor price negotiations, a specialist survey was arranged. The surveyor was exceptional - clean, methodical, and reassuring. Once results were in Kevin returned to review the proposed solution, engaging both me and my wife in radiator choices. Due to my design decision around flow temperature most radiators were replaced for efficiency - a decision we’re happy with.
Next came an installation walkthrough with Jack, who was thorough and personable. We agreed on plumbing modifications and booked the installation. Shortly after, Dwain (a director) called to explain an administrative error with paperwork but this was discussed and a path forward agreed.
Installation day started well with polite installers, but quickly unraveled. Key materials were missing; by mid-install, only the copper primaries and cylinder were correct. Frustration grew as the team ran out of tasks. Minor wall damage occurred but was reported promptly. Day two brought radiators - but no pipework -leading to a decline in workmanship, including haphazard kitchen plumbing and unreported furniture damage. By the end of day two, radiators weren’t plumbed, and parts were still incomplete.
Day three saw Mark, an outstanding plumber, and a separate electrician. Mark corrected kitchen plumbing, sourced missing parts himself, and worked tirelessly. However, the electrician unfamiliar with Mitsubishi controls made a couple of mistakes, leaving us with issues we discovered later. At the end of the final day of installation several radiators had leaks, and overnight one of the electrical mistakes was identified. Mark returned, fixed leaks, and diagnosed the electrical fault, resolving it quickly.
Unfortunately, more problems surfaced: flow and return probes were incorrectly placed, and cylinder connections were reversed, causing stratification issues and reduced hot water capacity. The electrician returned the following week to relocate probes, restoring basic functionality—but flaws remain. A month on from the start of our install unresolved issues include: property damage, a damaged radiator and towel rail, inverted cylinder flow/return, unclipped pipes rubbing on blockwork (risking leaks and causing noise), incomplete insulation, unintegrated solar diverter, a potential warranty risk, a cold living room due to plumbing errors, loft rubbish, and unbalanced radiators.
In summary, Marvel’s polished sales process and some outstanding individuals (Kevin, Jack, Mark) were overshadowed by poor administration and logistical failures. The installation team was let down, leaving us with a flawed system and no clear timeline for resolution. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Marvel Heating and Renewable Energy.

Marvel - I recommend
The service from the office staff is superb, any minor issues were dealt with swiftly. However the installation dates, day 2, was changed without prior information. Luckily I can work from home but better communicaction internally, and with customers would be better.
In general I would recommend Marvel, and this heating system. We are toasty and the unit it much quieter than expected and I was informed with everything explained throughout.
I rang up regarding my Heat Pump…
I rang up regarding my Heat Pump installed in June. Due the hot weather I had not used it until recently. I experienced a strange noise from the tank and one of the radiators. I rang Kevin at Marvel and he suggested I bleed the radiator. The next I rang him and reported no change. He arranged for two engineers to look a the problem. In no time at all they identified the problem and rectified it. They were very polite. In fact the whole experience was a positive one, from ringing to having the engineers rectify my problem
We are very pleased
We are very pleased with the installation of air source heat pump. The whole team worked exceptionally hard to ensure the work was carried out in as short a time as possible with very little disruption. We were informed of the process at all times. Having now had the system in for several weeks we are very pleased with its performance, our home is kept at a constant temperature without any intervention from ourselves.

Air source heat pump install
From quote to install the whole process was easy and efficient. All visits were arranged around ourselves as full time workers and following any works clean up was spotless. We had a few minor issues with install but these were rectified quickly and communication was swift.
We are very pleased with the air source heat pump and after some minor adjustments in shower times (family of 4 with 2 girls!) we have noticed a saving in our fuel bills already and coming into the winter months the house is comfortably heated.
We would recommend Marvel for any works.
Heat Pump Installers were great and happy with the system, improvements needed at planning stage
We recently had a heat pump installed and the process was a mix of highs and lows. The initial sales pitch was excellent — clear, informative, and tailored to our needs. The salesperson took the time to explain all our options, answered all our questions, and really made us feel confident about our decision. Financially, because of the vertical flue in our boiler and scaffolding requirements to replace it, it was cheaper to get a heat pump installed too! We were excited to move forward based on that experience.
When we got to the stage where the heating engineer visited site to plan out the works and specifics he was very nonchalant. I was eager to talk about the location of the heat pump, water tank and pipework. I had some ideas of where these could potentially go but were concerned it would be a tight fit. He did not provide any other ideas, took my suggested locations and reassured it me that would work with a slimline tank that would hold the same water amount. He was more focused on taking notes, and would just provide reassuring comments when I asked further questions. He told me that the ‘piping’ could come into the house either just above the ceiling in the void to remain hidden, or just below the ceiling, where I could choose to box it in easily afterwards. This would depend on the direction of the beams
I was given installation dates and booked time of work so I could ensure areas around radiators were cleared in all rooms. The install was then delayed by a week. A few days before install I was phoned to ask about how the installers could access the rear of the property as they were concerned about how to carry the heavy tank through the house. It wasn’t a huge deal, but it didn’t give us the same confidence that the sales pitch had.
When the installation engineers arrived, they quickly made it clear that installing the tank and heat pump where we had planned would not be a possibility. Firstly they wouldn’t be able to manoeuvre the tank to the location agreed. Secondly, there would be 4-5 pipes running through my kids bedroom and hallway which is not what I was led to believe. I should add our house is built on the side of a hill with cement flooring and a difficult layout.
That said, the installation engineers were absolutely fantastic. They quickly suggested alternative locations at the front of the house for both the water tank and heat pump. They were professional, knowledgeable, and really went above and beyond to ensure everything was installed correctly. They took the time to explain the system, answered all our follow-up questions, and made sure everything was running smoothly before they left. The heat pump is at the front of the house and the water tank is now in a lean-to porch where we used to store a bike and it's honestly a way better location for it than my original suggestion. It's not taking up storage space in the house now.
The old boiler that was removed had a vertical flue, that was not removed or capped, so when there is heavy rainfall we get some dripping water in our kitchen. But this wasn’t specified as something they would cover so probably my oversight. Again, something I asked the heat engineer about, and he said ’they’ll figure it out on the day’.
We had our heat pump installed in July, so we didn’t use the central heating for the first few months. We had a few teething problems when we first started using it, mainly user error, and again the engineers that came to the house were incredibly helpful.
Overall, even through the heat engineer wasn’t the best at planning stages, the installation team made up for it with their expertise and dedication. We’re very happy with the company as a whole, the heat pump itself and the efficiency of the installation team.
Would recommend the provider, but I’d suggest a little more consistency between the teams.

Heat pump installation-Marvel Heating
Had a problem at the start of the installation process as I had confirmation of a date, however it hadn't been booked in their end, so a new date had to be arranged. The whole installation process went well and didn't take long. Minor issue noticed after everything had been completed, but when reported it was fixed right away. The heat pump system itself is great, hot water comes through straight away and the radiators let a nice warmth out.

Nice experience, worked hard to fit us in before the cold weather started due to our ages, arrived on time and kept everything tidy. All working well had issue with hot water but came straight out and delt with the problem immediately.

Stress Free and professional service
We would like to thank Marvel for making the process of installing a new heating pump straightforward and stress free. All the way through the team were very helpful, friendly and professional. The priority service for our young family after our gas boiler started to fail was much appreciated. The teams over the two days were respectful of our property, informative and able to offer advice, the rubbish was collected in a timely fashion. Everything went like clockwork.
We would recommend Marvel for anyone contemplating a heat pump installation. Totally stress free.

Excellent service from marvel heating from start to finish Dan is the Man, he made all information very easily available and very knowledgeable in the solar and heat pump information always ready to help, even if you call every day, as he understands the complications when people need solar and heat pump, very friendly knowledgeable and all staff are very friendly.

Good quality installation
Installed both a heat pump and pv with battery. Happy with the design as both are working well for me. Install was done efficiently taking just two days. All at a very competitive price.
Took my money and ran
I put down a fully refundable deposit of £2750 in January 2025 with the assurance that work would be completed by April. In July, after asking for a refund, I was sent an email assuring me that I would receive my money back. It’s now November. No sign of the money. I have been calling and emailing a number of times and I’m running out of patience.

The installation went well the workers were clean and tidy when they eventually arrived several weeks later than week wplanned But what let them was the office staff First they didn’t arrive on the day agreed (due to illness )rang to find out why.Will ring me back (dident)rang several times that week eventually getting an ainstallation date a few weeks later (installtion spot on,office not good at all)
It's been a great experience so far
It's been a great experience so far. From the installation team to the support team, they have been professional and attentive throughout.
Our installation included underfloor heating, so there was alot of coordination taking place between tilers and the installation, and they worked to our schedule without any issues, and always open to feedback.
