Mappin & Webb is a true British treasure with over 240 years of tradition and historical significance in the world of silver and fine jewellery.

It’s a story that began in 1775, when Jonathan Mappin opened a workshop in Sheffield. His mission was to create the most beautifully crafted silverware for British society.

Over the immediate years that followed, the company expanded internationally with commissions from Monarchs around the world. Synonymous with excellence, craftsmanship and all things truly British, the company was soon granted a Royal Warrant by Her Majesty Queen Victoria in 1897.

The Company has proudly held a Royal Warrant to each succeeding monarch and currently holds appointments as ‘Jewellers, Goldsmiths and Silversmiths’ to Her Majesty The Queen and ‘Silversmiths’ to His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.

Mappin & Webb? Ratners more like

Mappin & Webb - customer service remains as bad today as when my ring was bought ten years ago. Then, because the ring was under £2k the assistant told me I couldn’t have a ring box!!!
Since then, one diamond fell out. I had it replaced ( by a different jeweller) now another has fallen out - I popped into M&W - showed the ring ‘what seems to be the trouble?!’ - I would have thought the gaping hole was a bit of a give away - We can send it away for an estimate £25 non refundable - ‘but it’s one of your rings - it’s shoddy workmanship ‘ - apparently it’s fallen out because I’m actually wearing the damn ring.
I will never set foot in Mappin & Webb again - attitude was like being in a Ratners in the 70s but with better decor

Excellent Service

Had been looking for an eternity ring and been to a few jeweller's. Went into the Glasgow Mappin and Webb where Muriel listened to what I wanted and then came back with the perfect ring. Delighted with the service we received by both Muriel and Wendy. Very happy customer

Preowned watches

Went to the bluewater branch just over three weeks ago to sell my two Rolex watches and an omega watch, first impressions with Graeme and his service brilliant but after that diabolical customer service. had one e mail to say they had received watches, since then nothing else, no customer contact I have to ring them. Still not received payment for watches, if you’re thinking of selling a preowned watch, I would go somewhere else
Well 3 days later still waiting, now been nearly 4 weeks

Went into the Cambridge shop 3 weeks…

Went into the Cambridge shop 3 weeks ago they said they would get me a price for a emerald and diamond ring I left 2 phone numbers and a email address have not heard a word since do they think they are the only jewellers .i rate their service as nil.do they only want to deal with people they think have got loads of money you cannot judge a book by the cover

The customer service on live chat was…USELESS

The customer service on live chat was pretty bad. Wasn’t interested at all in helping me with my request.

I certainly wouldn’t buy from them in the future

Visited Southampton branch to enquire…

Visited Southampton branch to enquire about having an Omega serviced. Assistant then told me the starting price and that my stainless steel watch fell into the precious metal category so would be more expensive. I said that stainless isn't a precious metal - but I was corrected! I said I would ask in Goldsmiths instead to which the reply was, 'it will be the same price, we're the same company'. In Goldsmiths the watch was obviously correctly identified. To Mappin & Webb, please train your staff. People do business with people - or not.

Treated like royalty as a first time buyer

Dealt with Elliot Cohen and Antony Clark for the purchase of my first rolex to celebrate my wedding. Treated like royalty on my first visit by Elliot. I unfortunately broke my ankle when i received the call to pick up my watch and the guys and Mappin and Webb kindly kept me on the list until I emailed that my foot has fully recovered. When picking the watch up I was greeted by Antony Clark. What a lovely guy and a fellow watch enthusiast. Will definitely be back registering for another watch when the time comes.

In store visit - City of London branch

I went into the City of London store at 12:30 on a Wednesday seeking advice regarding tightening my metal watch strap on a watch I bought elsewhere. 45 minutes later I had received superb assistance with getting the band to the exact tightness. They also assisted with activating my guarantee. I am so impressed. Heth was professionalism and politeness personified and refused to accept any remuneration at all. This is how to impress your customers. They are now my 'go to' for all watch matters, including any future purchases.

I flooded my 1 year old breietling…

I flooded my 1 year old breietling watch in dubia on holiday.once in uk I went to my local shop in Southampton to get it sorted.i was told a service was£500 so sent it away as didn't want it rusting internally.couple of weeks later and my watch was back.no charge due as my watch was under

Customer excellence at its best

Amazing service from both Edinburgh and London City (Cheapside) branches. Lydia convinced me to purchase my new timepiece & took such great care making sure I had the right info to make an informed decision. Then Gareth really looked after me at Cheapside store when I needed to get link removed. Friendly personable and professional - the perfect combination. The service I received was simply…

The service I received was simply excellent from Helen today at the Cambridge boutique. I was never rushed, was taken through a range of watches I was interested in and was made to feel special. I was given a detailed instructional walk through of the chosen Breitling and it was fully adjusted to fit perfectly. The whole experience was what I’d hoped and made my purchase even more special. I would not hesitate to return for my next watch (probably for my wife next time). Highly recommend.

Professional and enjoyable experience

The service was excellent, Danielle (Sowden) kept us up to date with emails, and options. Danielle was never pushy, and left us to make our choice or not in our own time. When we found the watch we wanted we arranged to pick up with Danielle, and was offered drinks, and snacks whilst we finalised the deal. Very nice experience. Thank you

Mappin & Webb, Glasgow store

In January 2025, I first met Wendy Harper when I went into the Glasgow store to purchase an eternity ring. I have already submitted a review on this purchase. On 1 February 2025, my husband was wishing to treat me to a piece of jewellery for our forthcoming wedding anniversary. At every stage, Wendy was in contact with me as I gave her advance notice of pieces that I liked. During our store visit on 1 February, Wendy was available to meet with us at our allocated time and the time spent going through the different pieces of jewellery was perfect, relaxed and Wendy’s professionalism and friendliness was exemplary and she is an absolute credit to Mappin & Webb. I couldn’t decide between 3 pieces of jewellery of which I was treated by my husband who bought all 3 but there was absolute no pressure to buy, merely Wendy allowing us time to work through the pieces. Such is my experience, I will be a regular visitor, even to just pop in and say hello, maybe get my jewellery cleaned but more importantly, meet with Wendy who can show me new arrivals and have a catch up. Wendy is an asset to the company and I wish her every success with other clients and hope her experience and knowledge is recognised by M&W. Thank you again to Wendy for making my shopping experience absolutely perfect.
