Absolute jokers, trying to charge me for 5 missing services when I've not even had the car for 3 years and only missed 1 service and was just told to take it up with the finance company!! Also there was at least 3 services in the book and the car is 6 years old!! Also trying to charge for a bad repair job which I've never had the car repaired as I've never had an accident in it, also charging for things that didn't come with the car, I've worked out I owe £572 and they are trying to charge me just under £2000 it's absolutely disgusting what they do to people, I have always looked after my car it's always been parked on my driveway, I hardly drive it and have only put 7k miles on the clock!! It's now on the auction website despite the dispute going on, this company just want to rob you, there was absolutely no fair wear and tear about my inspection, the car is over 6 years old and I didn't get it from New, I will never get pcp again, if I could give this company zero stars I would.
Is this some sort of scam to try and recoup funds?
Had my inspection today for the return of my Citroen eC4 after the PCP had ended, on completing the inspection I was told the total charges were over £1100, nearly £500 of this was for a missing charge cable, said there should be 2?? I informed the guy inspecting the car that it only came with 1 cable and that is how they come from Citroen for a 2022 eC4, but he insisted it comes with 2 and would not remove the charge, he said I can dispute this?? Dispute what? A charge for an item I never owned or never existed in the first place. Plus he added a ton of charges for alloy wheel damage and a chip on the bonnet etc, all fair wear and tear for a 4 year old car. Is this some sort of joke or scam? I was charged for a missing service and some dents which is fine, I will accept those as genuine but why do I have to dispute something that should not be there to begin with.
Get your act together Manheim
Took 52 minutes to check over a car that had done only 13500 miles being returned early into lease and was immaculate only to then highlight two negligible marks on the front bumpers - neither of which was charged for. Had to make a point didn't you? Had the nerve to try and say it needed an interior valet of foot wells (having removed the mats that came with the car in the first place) at £55 right at the end of the 52 minutes when he wanted to leave so I told him he could wait while I got the Dyson and did it myself. After 5 minutes of getting bored waiting he said to leave it and took the charge off. Typical scammers behaviour from this kind of people. Just generally unpleasant experience and individual and glad I will never have to encounter either the car or his kind again. Watch everything these people do when they come to look at your car and document everything. When you sign always put next to your signature "I do not agree with any of the reported damage. Signed under duress so driver could leave".
As others have indicated, it's a stressful process to hand a car back at the end of a lease or PCP contract.
I had read a number of reviews and was worried that we would end up with a bill at the end of the inspection process, even though the car was pretty clean for a 3.5 year old.
I think the most important thing is to read the guidance carefully at least a month ahead of time about what is likely to be charged: this meant that we could take care of repairing a couple of scrapes on the alloy wheels ahead of the return.
Getting stuff fixed yourself is going to save you, as I think Manheim just want to get the cars to the auction house as quickly as possible.
In the event, Daryl contacted us 24 hours ahead of time to let us know when to expect him. He came during the window he'd informed us of, was polite, friendly and efficient.
My only recommendation would be that the drivers picking up the cars should be given official ID: although our driver had all our data on his phone, he admitted that he had no other ID to confirm he was working on behalf of Manheim.

The most awful experience you can imagine. Dylan came to inspect my car at the end of a PCP agreement. He had an awful attitude from the get-go. Accused me of not reading the checklist, was rude, and very unprofessional. Really bad attitude and zero regard for customer experience. Argumentative, and I literally had to tell him to leave! Complained to head office and was told I had to complain to Audi, which is weird given they are a different entity! I wish I never have to deal with them again.

Had an inspection conducted today at the end of my PCP agreement. Ahead of my car being returned to the finance company. I have a 2017 Renault captur of which I am the 3rd legal owner the car is approaching 10 years old and has done 75,000 miles. Today, I was presented with a £1500 charge on top of my excess mileage charge of £400, which I can accept. The member of staff encouraged me to dispute the findings which I found ironic. He also stated that he normally collects cars from first time owners.
I guess it’s about subjectivity, depending on who inspects your car. My partner had a Peugeot which in our opinion was in poorer condition and 2 years younger than my car. She was charged £150 by the same company. I thought stress he was a nice enough person. As this is my first time going through this process I would highly recommend people taking pictures, keep all relevant documents of work undertaken on the car but then again we all live busy lives and these companies are bleeding people dry.

I had to review Manheim as I was genuinely so worried about handing my car back at the end of the PCP agreement. I had looked after my car, but I had anxious moments thinking that they’d scrutinise every bump and scrape (I have kids so a couple of very minor things).
I followed the guidance to the letter and so did they. Tony came, called in advance. Explained the process. Was friendly and respectful and all the minor things were passed as wear and tear. They aren’t out to get you and are honest and genuine. Thank you. I would happily deal with Manheim again.

Dave came to inspect and take our vehicle today: not only gave me good advice but also very competent, efficient and great communication.

My car was collected on Monday due to me giving it back to the finance company after being told it was worth 3K less than the final payment. After reading all the reviews on here I was very nervous for the inspection but I can not fault them. Any time I rang the phone's to ask a question my call was answered straight away. I received a text message from Jordan Sunday morning explaining what time he would be with me and what he needed available. Monday morning he was running a little late and he contacted me straight away at 8am to say. When he arrived he was very helpful as I was unsure which bit of the V5C form to give him, he sorted it for me. He then said he would be 20 mins at the car then let me know any findings. He was about 25 mins came back to say there was a charge for the missing service (I knew that was coming), a charge for a damaged alloy (again I couldn't argue that) and also there was quite a big scratch on the inside of the door paint work.
He showed me all the things he had picked up on asked me if I was happy or if I wanted to press dispute. Even told me where the car was going to.
I honestly can't fault my experience with them.
Thanks Jordan!

I recently had my voluntary termination vehicle inspection carried out by Manheim Inspection Services, and the whole process was straightforward from start to finish.
Kevin, the inspector, was friendly, professional, and clearly explained every step of the inspection, which made the experience much less stressful. Although there are some charges listed following the inspection, I understand that this isn’t an issue with Manheim—they were simply carrying out their job. Any dispute I have will be with the finance company, not with Manheim.
Overall, a positive experience with courteous staff and a smooth, well-explained inspection process. Thank you, Kevin, for making the voluntary termination inspection as easy as possible.

Sure check are absolutely awful, ignoring the issue completely, leaving me to pay 3-4k in repairs absolutely ridiculous. I showed the engine light at two miles and was told to drive the car back home and get told ive driven over the 250 when I live 300+ miles away from manheim, so what you wanted me to leave the car in the middle of the motorway? I was not able to get a recovery truck , I was told I need to get this which is stupid instead of actually addressing the fact that they didn’t mention an engine light on the surecheck report. Get no response till I call back and they say they respond within 24 hours which is a load of crap
Steve Singh at Manheim kept me informed and up to date, and accommodated my time-frame like a true professional.
He was thorough and fair, and the handover of the car was smooth and he was very helpful too. You couldn't help but like him.
Sad to see the car go.

I was returning my Volvo after 5 years of leasing. Stephen Singh was the vehicle inspector. For something I was dreading it turned out to be a pleasant and easy process. He was very professional; ensuring I understood the process that would take place and what my rights were if I disagreed with his findings.
After his inspection, he talked me through his report, gave me chance to challenge a point without any negativity.
He made the whole experience positive and professional. So glad to have dealt with him!

Rothwell, Leeds
watching staff move cars around the compound,
It seems they have no respect for customers vehicles and treat them like toys
They are skidding, setting off really fast throwing stones and dust up, wheel spins
I would expect more respect if it was my car been treated in that way

I don't understand all the negative reviews. Such a professional company. Clear communication, punctual and explained any marks found on the car. You also get to sign whether you agree or not to any marks so it's open and transparent. By far the best independent car inspection company I've experienced so far.

My car was inspected by Damian Whelan. Reviews seem very polarised but unfortunately it seems as though I got one of the inspectors who was looking for faults as hard as possible. Awaiting the costs but completely disagreed with the findings that were verbally mentioned. Unfortunately you don't get to choose who picks up your car but something really needs to be done about regulation of these companies. Reminds me of the rent a car scandal

On 4/6/26, we had to collect two vans. Never having been to this location previously, I was unsure of the procedure. I needn't have worried, the young lady on reception help me with the paperwork. The gentleman in the key office was most helpful and the gentleman on the gate pointed out where our vans were located. Everyone was great.

I recently had my vehicle inspected by Steven and was very impressed with the service. Steven was friendly, professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly throughout the process. He made what could have been a stressful experience feel straightforward and easy.
He was approachable, helpful, and happy to answer any questions I had. The inspection was carried out efficiently and professionally, and I felt treated with respect throughout.
Thank you, Steven, for the excellent service – I really appreciated your help and would happily recommend you to others.
