I have discovered a huge scam related to the latest takedown of Bato. Many of the mangas there was recently posted on mangaplaza right as bato was taken down. And in true scammy fashion, MangaPlaza divided the chapters to either 3 or 8(!) separate chapters to earn more money, and advertised them heavily on instagram. Most of these cost more than it would've for a paperback copy, or the raw ones from a Japanese raw Manga site.
Its also a lie that they "give back" to the manga creators. I've seen several indie Japanese mangakas on Twitter the past year complain about a English based mangasite stealing and selling their manga for a higher price. When I translated some of their Twitter posts, it said the site was called "plaza."
Don't give your money to this site or the crooks running it. If you want to support the mangaka, buy the Japanese version from the sites they share on either pixiv or Twitter.

Can never access my account, most times i try and log in it fails “this account cannot be used to login to MangaPlaza”. Waste of time and money. Had it for months.

You would think that when you PAY for a premium account you would have access to everything, BUT NO. You have to pay for point to unlock every chapter! This is greedy! Not worth it

Horrid experience. Apparently I created two accounts both attached to the same PayPal so was charged twice. Asked to refund one because obviously a mistake. Customer service was terrible and they refused. Not only that but their platform is clunky and the content is terrible. Much better platforms elsewhere. Would not recommend.

As far as online manga sites, this one is really awful. They seem to have alot of great content. And you can read the start of most for free. But then you have to pay to continue. And its per chapter. So i thought the premium would be worth it. I can pay monthly and read more. Nope. The premium titles available are kinda meh. All the top titles that they advertise and suggest are not included in the premium membership. So what's the point? I felt it was a waste of money. Especially when they're tons of places to read for free. Or the entire sites titles are included in their monthly sub.
Don't waste your money.

I accidentally made two premium accounts without me noticing until I was billed twice und the same billing account.
When asked for a refund as it was obviously a mistake, I was just confronted with a cold and uncooperative "we have this in our Terms of service". Not considering that your customer is regretting their mistake, this customer even purchased sth outside of the membership limitations. So, I'm not sure why they thought they needed to make these pennies if I was willing to purchase more. Just very poor customer service tactics...

$1.50 for EACH chapter? No, just no.

If I could give this place -5 star I would. I rarely give reviews but in this case I was so frustrated with the whole process. To start off I didn’t see anywhere on the website about how the premium works so I though you pay a monthly subscription and you get to read the books but noooo. You have to pay per chapter. The whole website when it comes the the premium it’s not throughly explain. They’re always gonna come back and say oh it’s in this fine print. Then you can’t say anything because well, they mentioned it. On top of that their log in system is ridiculous and apparently I never created a password so when I went to cancel, I couldn’t log in. i did followed their instruction to a t. When I emailed and asked for help to cancel my subscription they just gave me instruction on how to chance my info which I’ve already expressed I did, and said oh I can’t refund you because it’s my responsibility to keep an eye on my membership. Again as I’ve told them I followed their instruction to a T. And that’s not what I asked. I asked to have it canceled on their end if I can’t seem to log in, I’m not gonna S*** on 7$ but they way they went about is lacked customer service! I have tried numerous times through the days to log in and cancel and i don’t even know if it canceled at this point. But I’ll keep trying, I’m going on day 8 trying to log in and cancel. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEMT MANGA PLAZA! I dont think their people are even reading the emails, they just copy and paste a template. You’re better off with Webtoons.

Don't waste your money, the stories NEVER get updated. They pull you in with a free chapter, so you'll buy the other available chapters at 69¢-$1.49 each; while you're waiting for updates, you browse and buy other manga. There's a few completed ones and a few with quite a few chapters, just to make it look legit, but still, nothing ever updates. What's the point of paying for manga when you never get to see what happens next?
