They really do give you the tools to start which is the hardest part. I also like how accessible it is, 20 levels for free and the community feature is nice too.

It's genuinely impressive how quickly it felt like i learned all the characters and words. I thought it would take me a couple months to learn this many but it only took me a little less than 2 weeks to learn over 100 characters with the methods they teach, and it's made me want to learn more! I Have a lofty goal of becoming fluent in 5 languages in my lifetime and i appreciate that they taught us HOW to learn instead of just WHAT to learn. Good stuff. 10/10

It just simply works! Time and time again I’ve used apps, books,recordings and various language modules and get nowhere. The system works. If I’m having trouble with character, I just simply review my movies, actors and props then voila it’s done. I’m really beginning to believe I’m actually going to learn Chinese. Wow! I was initially very intimdated to begin studying Mandarin, even though my father was fluent in the language, I had convinced myself I was a "bad" language learner.
This course was a good, low pressure way to start in small easy to absorb pieces. I tired to do at least one section and quiz per day and be concsistent rather than be perfect. That combined with getting my flashcards to zero every day usually gave me a solid 15-20 minutes per day. NO ZERO days! Then anything I added on top of that was just bouns learning time.
I thus have more confidence to begin the regular course without feeling intimidated or overwhelmed. I'll never be as fluent as my dad (he could fool native speakers on the phone), but I intend to get close.

This has honestly been one of the best ways to learn Mandarin quickly. The memory techniques make it so much easier to remember things without it ever feeling overwhelming.

Learning mandarin is an overwhelming experience. The Blueprint method works well for me and I am up to 100 characters after two weeks of learning.

I really appreciate how they have big picture suggestions - first vocab, then comprehensive imput. It takes the day to day guess work out of day to day learning and its also fun!

I'm having fun learning the characters because I'm also able to connect them to Japanese kanji so it's two for one. Also, it's really motivating to be able to recognize words when I'm reading or listening to Chinese songs/videos. The Hanzi Movie Method was really hard when I was starting out and sometimes I confuse some sets with others but overall, it's been really effective for me when I'm remembering how to read and pronounce words. I'm thinking of trying to apply this method to other topics I'm studying so it's also a life skill in a way. Thank you so much for the free materials (as someone who's not self-sufficient yet)! It's comprehensive enough to get me started.

Reinvented the wheel of language learning.

MBP was the first system that I looked at. It was presented so well that I didn't feel the need to look elsewhere for a primary Mandarin teaching platform.
The movie method hasn't come naturally but I've persevered. Daily review and adding characters has become part of my daily routine. With added Kickstarter, listening and repeating has led to a feeling of genuine progress. There's a long path ahead but I'm genuinely invested with this system and it's aim of fluency.

I never thought language learning could be this enjoyable and help me start speaking so quickly.
At first, I was a bit skeptical. However, since I’m Japanese, learning Chinese through English felt like killing two birds with one stone—I could improve both languages at the same time, so I decided to give it a try.
As a Japanese speaker, I originally thought pronunciation would be especially difficult for me compared to people living in English-speaking countries, since we don’t use as many sounds in our native language. But the teaching is amazing. The explanations of how to produce sounds that are actually understood are incredibly clear and effective.
For me, writing Chinese characters isn’t very difficult, but I found memorizing their pronunciations and tones extremely challenging. However, the methods taught here really stay in your memory for a long time, and now I genuinely enjoy learning every day.
Because the approach helps you remember tones correctly, you can be understood from the very beginning. Even as a beginner, native speakers are often surprised at how clear and natural my pronunciation sounds.
I highly recommend it!

This is a great course with an almost overwhelming range of materials. I am really enjoying it but initially struggled with the Hanzi movie method choosing characters and sets, but I eventually got it with a little help from ChatGTP which 'knows' the method very well.
As a lifelong ADHD survivor, I still find myself losing focus and drifting off down the many information rabbit holes available on the platform. Then I would have to go back and fill in the gaps (to be honest, I am still filling in the gaps). This is where one of the most important parts of the course comes to the rescue - the Mandarin Blueprint community. There is always somebody to consult if you get stuck and response times are really quick. I have been doing this course since January 2026. I have a long way to go, but I am having a lot of fun.

I have tried to learn Chinese characters before and found it to be painfully tedious. The Mandarin Blueprint method is brilliant. The way the course is designed makes it easy to follow. If you show up and do the work, you will learn Chinese. The biggest surprise wasn't that it worked (other testimonials suggested it would), but that it is fun!

I started out on the MB Lite which had pronunciation, but when I joined Pro I started again with pronunciation Mastery which was more detailed and I learned so icy more and corrected some problems I was having. I recommend this course before you learn anything Chinese, but if you do know some Chinese, it is a great tool to refresh and possibly reinforce your skills!

This is a very well-thought-out, enjoyable course.
The methods they have devised work really well for remembering vocabulary and characters. I'm surprised to find that I am able to read, write, and speak simple sentences that my Chinese colleagues are delighted by.

* Also, the pronunciation mastery course is well worth it! I've been complimented on my pronunciation by strangers while visiting in China. It's very encouraging!

I'm on the free version if the program and am so far very impressed by this technique! I barely need to rehearse the characters, and it has made my mandarin learning a lot faster and easier.

Luke and Phil are also great teachers, not only great at teaching but also funny guys - implementing a touch of humor somtimes.

I strongly recommend anyone who wants to start learning mandarin to try out their free program and start learning characters.

Learning Chinese is like receiving a 10,000 piece Lego set without instructions. You will try to piece it together but give up in frustration.
The MB course is like having the detailed instruction booklet that takes you step by step to build that Lego set from the bottom up with foundation and then also gives you verbal structure from top down. You never flounder with what shall I do next, it's actually really fun too and a wee bit addictive. These guys have put many thousands of hours preparing this and it shows, it is well polished and professional.
