Great system but expensive.
LE Intralace system changed my life! Edinburgh branch people are absolutely lovely and caring! I am struggling with the cost though as it is very expensive to start with and ‘aftercare’ cost can give some surprises cost wise as I don’t always understand what has been added and what has been changed. I hope I can afford to continue with LE as I would be totally lost now if I didn’t have the Intralace system.
Hair today, Hair tomorrow! Southampton
Only 24hrs after having my Intralace system fitted by the gorgeous Southampton team and I couldn’t be happier!
After losing a substantial amount of my hair in my late teens due to Female Pattern Baldness, I’ve always lacked confidence and never been able to style or enjoy my hair. Every photo, party, trip to the beach, holiday, wedding etc my hair has caused me anxiety.
The Southampton team were wonderfully friendly, the salon was really clean and inviting with the staff chatting and laughing away. Paulo, the salon manger is amazing, very kind and patience. The team checked in regularly to see if I needed comfort breaks, drinks or chocolate! My appointment started at 9am and I was all done by 15:30, it flew by.
The system did feel tight, but nothing awful and already after the first nights sleep I’m getting used to it. I’m due back to the salon for the first wash on Thursday, and to check in to make sure everything is OK. I already think I want to go longer next time!
I have a very active outdoor life, I own horses and compete regularly. I’m interested to see how I can balance keeping my hair in good condition, and still maintain my all-weather country lifestyle. I already need to order a new riding hat due to the extra hair…

Lucinda Ellery in Southampton has been…Amazing
Lucinda Ellery in Southampton has been a life saver. They have given me my self confidence back, having very thin hair after Chemotherapy. They have done fabulous hair extentions for me. The team are so professional and friendly, making it an altogether positive experience. I am so pleased that they are fairly local and a trip to London is not needed. They would get my 100% recommendation. Fiona Willans.

Fabulous Southampton Team
I have been a client of Lucinda's for a number of years being cared for by her London team. Since Lucinda opened her Southampton studio a few years ago I have switched teams but the care, attention to detail and outstanding service remains the same.
I can highly recommend them. Southampton team, thank you.
An amazing experience!
I have just started on my journey with the lovely team at Solihull with the intralace system. From the initial consultation with Daniella to being welcomed by the lovely ladies at the Solihull salon I have experienced detailed explanations at each stage and made to feel welcome and cared for. I was anxious to start with but now words cannot express how much more confident I feel. For anyone thinking about it I would highly recommend it, you won’t regret it!

My experience at the Lucinda Ellery London Saloon
I have been a client of LE for about 15 years if not longer. I must be happy with my systems otherwise I wouldn’t still be a client. When I first went I still had some hair but not very much I was so pleased with how I looked as it was just before we were going on holiday and renewing our vows(40 years) it was very hot but I felt fine and not sweaty with this hair system on. Jump forward 12 years and after having chemo I lost what little hair I had but it didn’t faze me I just explained when I got out of hospital what had happened they said they could still help me. My system is now kept in place by tapes which can be replaced at home. I no longer need to go back every six weeks but just call them when I need a new fringe/ parting or any repairs I make an appointment over the phone and send it back to them they do the work on it after agreeing with me the cost then they return it to me. I’m lucky I kept a couple of my old systems so I use them in the meantime. It’s not ideal but does the trick until my other ones arrived back in about week. I can’t thank the whole staff at the London Saloon for everything you have done for me. It might cost but I feel you get what you pay for.

Thank you!
I have been coming to the London studio for twelve years. I have struggled with TTM for decades since my teens, meeting Lucinda and being looked after by her team has been a life changing experience for me. The kindness, compassion and professionalism that I have received from every member of staff has been fantastic. If I have ever had a problem with my hair (in a relationship that has lasted over a decade problems have happened very occasionally. I believe that you can measure an organisation by the way they deal with difficulties) they have bent over backwards to fix it. I absolutely recommend The Lucinda Ellery Consultancy, in fact I can’t thank them enough for the positive difference that they have made to me.

I'd sooner walk around bald than give this disgusting company one more pound
I have waited over two years to write this review. I wanted to take time to go over my experience. I'm someone who is positive and I hate to leave negative reviews. Just writing this is upsetting to me. So why would I do it? Because my experience was so dreadful and this is such a personal matter as anyone with hair loss knows. It's a huge thing.
At first I was treated nicely enough. I opted for their most expensive hair (seriously expensive!!! But I wanted virgin European hair to replace my own that I, like anyone reading this, so sorely miss). For me it was worth it to have hair for my wedding day. To feel beautiful and not be self conscious, else what was the point of such a day if I'd just feel miserable and hiding away? So it was worth it, initially. I had my lovely hair for the big day. That was a month after having it done. It became a nightmare right afterwards. What had been lovely soft locks soon became a tangled nightmare. So much so I had to go to a hair salon in Jamaica on my honeymoon to untangle it. Going back for my first maintenance appointment, instantly I felt a dark cloud looming. They tried to blame it on me. That I must not be taking care of it right, etc etc. Being told it was fine at the same time! Eventually it was replaced at no expense because it was faulty. Hair was on backwards causing my initially beautiful new hair to be a rat's nest.
So I kept going. I'd spent so many thousand already, shelling out the outrageous £150 every six weeks seemed a bargain to keep this new hair that had changed my life. I felt confident again. That seemed priceless. Little did I know!
To cut this story short, the experience just got worse. The manager of the Bristol salon was just awful. There are more things I'd say, but I have no wish to endanger the livelihood of the other staff working there by saying too much. The place was tense. The staff are spied on in their staff room by CCTV. The owner Lucinda Ellery fancies herself like some kind of spiritual guru philanthropist with this joke of a newsletter displayed in the salon. I didn't know whether to laugh or be sick. At the prices they charge there is nothing remotely kind or compassionate about this place. You might say it's a business, they can charge whatever they like. And you'd be right! But me as a customer can also tell you how insane it was and how taken advantage of I felt. I worked out in the one year I went there I spent around £6000. It wouldn't have been hugely less at all had I gone for their cheaper hair. Much of this cost was simply hours charged.
I honestly don't know how they have any customers at this price, given my household income is far, far higher than the UK average. How could people pay so much? I knew why. Just like the company does. Desperation. It's a solution to a truly personal and difficult problem. People are obviously prepared to pay almost anything to cover it up, as it were.
Maybe it would be worth it, if the service wasn't so tacky (the salon shocked me how shabby and icky it was given the prices!). If the staff were fairly paid and treated better by management. If the hair they sold wasn't faulty (I had numerous faulty hair instances, no further of which they fixed). If you weren't subjected to the smarmy ramblings of a rip off merchant posted there in front of you all appointment long. And if when given faulty hair, they didn't just deny it. Hair on backwards isn't just an opinion, it's a fact. I even was told by a previous employee the staff are not permitted to ever concede it's the hair that's at fault; only their customers. That says it all, really.
I left after a year, with tears in my eyes. I'd come home after my last £700 appointment with the cold and unsympathetic gaze of the manager burnt into me. I felt sick and so preyed upon. I thought there was no hope, that they were the only option. What price did confidence have; my happiness? But how could I be happy when I was being so thoroughly ripped off for faulty hair and having to visit somewhere that doesn't care about its clients or its employees?
I left. My friend was so concerned when I sobbed to her my situation, that she found me another place to go. It's not perfect. I won't promote it here. But it's better than this nightmare. I don't know if there is the perfect solution out there for women like us. But if you're reading this and wondering if this is the answer, keep looking and find another! This is from one sister to another that actually knows the pain and the trauma of what you're enduring, unlike this ghastly business that just wants your money and will make you miserable like it did me and so many others.
The company cares for you. Oh it does! It cares for you to be wretched, wretched enough to keep paying.
P.s I am writing this under a different email than the company knows me by because I genuinely feel like they would do something awful if they knew who I am.

A big thank you to Darren & Abbie at the Edinburgh salon for taking the time to listen to my concerns at this time when I am not feeling my best. I really appreciated their time as I know how extremely busy they all are.

I would not recommend and wish I had done more research
I had an intralace hair system for two years and overall it was a negative experience. Over this time my natural hair which was thinning and fragile, was damaged by the system. It was quite distressing each time they took it off (every 5 months or so for a re-alignment) to see what harm it was doing. At the time of each six weekly adjustment, the system would be very painful for a few days afterwards. Sometimes, my scalp would come out in weeping sores. I found the system extremely hot in the summer and uncomfortable to sleep in. I didn't find the senior staff at L E at all sympathetic when I voiced my concerns about the damage to my hair. I noticed how the quality of the service deteriorated over time and I didn't trust that they had my best interests at heart. In the end I couldn't bear to go back to L E and went to another specialist salon to have it removed. It was clear that the system had caused my hair to snap of and there were areas of traction alopecia. My hair was very dry and frizzy. I have now found another solution for my hair thinning ( a clip in hair topper which is absolutely lovely and looks better than the L E system) which is not causing me harm and my natural hair is improving with new regrowth. I can take it off when I get home and when going on holidays can have it secured with beads for up to a month. I wish I had known about this before I had the hair system installed. The system is also extremely expensive and you are tied to 6 weekly salon appointments which really mount up.

My experience of Lucinda Ellery
I can honestly say this hair system has changed my life I have been going to Lucinda Ellery for the last 4 years when first deciding to have something done with my hair loss my sister and I decided to try all the companies over London who deal with hair loss to see where I could get the best treatment and get the best results. Lucinda Ellery were by far the most professional and considerate to my emotion and my feelings about my hair loss and the results were fantastic. The staff are very helpful and make sure you have everything you need while you are visiting their establishment and having your system overhauled. If you have any questions about your system they always have an answer to help you and can sort your problem out. I feel I am very lucky to have found a soulution to my problem and have gained so much confidence since attending Lucinda Ellery

Do it … you’ll never look back!
I have been going to the Lucinda Ellery salon in Southampton for just under 12 months after seeing the results on a lady taking part in the 10 Years Younger in 10 Days TV program. I first spoke with someone over the phone who explained the process and who was lovely. I had my first intralace system fitted shortly afterwards to help cover my thinning hair. As someone who generally hates going to hair salons, I have to say that I love going to my LE appointments. All of the staff are so friendly, great at what they do and all go out of their way to make you feel relaxed and comfortable. For the first time in my life I have left a hair salon with exactly what I asked for. Paulo is a fantastic stylist - a perfectionist and just an all round lovely guy. The feedback I have had from friends, family and colleagues has been amazing and anyone I do tell my hair is an intralace system can’t believe it is not my own hair, it looks so natural. I love my hair and would recommend LE in a heartbeat.

Life changer
I have been going to LE London for 4 years, changed my life! Staff are warm and welcoming and there is always a lovely atmosphere. They really can't do enough to make you feel special and supported. Lovely lady did my removal and colour today, Ella and her partner did a great job fitting my new system with constant support from the manageres, who also checked on me and I was ok, and then the Fab Clive who put together my new colours and cut. I feel like a new woman! Highly recommended and worth every penny.

So happy I found Lucinda Ellery!
I’ve been coming to Lucinda Ellery since I first lost my hair at 18. 7 years later and I still love it every time I visit! Chantelle has been there every time I’ve needed an adjustment or new system - they have taken the time to get to know me as a person and understand how I want my hair and will go above and beyond to help!
As an athlete with alopecia I need hair that will last and that I can trust won’t distract me from training and competing, where the last thing you want to worry about is your hair! LE has helped me so much and every visit to have left feeling like my confidence has been boosted! The London salon is so great and being able to see so many different women in there is so comforting as it’s helped me to see I’m not the only one who has to deal with alopecia or other types of hairloss!
Thank you so much 😊

HORRIBLE PLACE!!!
I used to work here and let me tell you, 14 years later, I still have confidence issues after how they treated me! Working here made me realise racism is very real and does exist! I got fired for not fitting in with beautiful caucasian women! 14 years later, I have never gone back to working in another european based hair salon! All this time later, I still regret turning down the other salon I got asked to work in! Dax was a horrible, horrible man and Nicky isn’t any better! Only nice one is chris!
Not even just this, but the prices are ridiculous! You can get a human lace wig for £100-£300, lasting a whole year that you can even dye, and looking very much like your own hair!
Read the reviews on the site uk indeed! They speak volume!

Overcoming the experience of hair loss
It is a dreadful experience to suffer hair loss, especially for a woman. I read about Lucinda Ellery’s system and decided to go for a consultation. Now, 6 years later I realise that this was the right decision as I am now so much more confident in my appearance

Thank you for giving me life back!
I discovered Lucinda Ellery and the Intralace system through my dentist, whose wife is a client. I had been suffering from hair loss due to an autoimmune condition for about a year. I had got to the point where I was choosing to stay in rather than go out because of the weight of people's gaze on my hair loss was making life unbearable. I had not realised how much hair loss affected me as a woman: Lack of confidence, self-worth, wanting to stay in rather than go out. Unfortunately, the Dermatologist I was seeing for my autoimmune condition is unable to find a root cause of my hair loss and treats the symptoms. The treatment I was offered was a tube of steroid cream and a prescription for a wig.
I just could not bring myself to wear a wig; it felt like my whole body rejected the idea.
I have been going to the Southampton studio for 2 years now. From the moment I had the system in place, life changed. When I went out, I did not have the gaze of others looking up at my hair loss: It wasn’t there! I could actually enjoy going out again! I had an overwhelming sense of “now I can relax”!
I really want to thank everyone at the Southampton studio for their kindness, understanding, tactfulness and above all, their skill in giving me my hair back. I can go swimming, take a shower, in fact all those normal things a woman does because she is proud of her own hair. It is not just my hair that I have got back: I feel like I have got my life back.
Thank you, Lucinda Ellery. Thank you everyone at Southampton!

Carlsberg dont do hair loss solutions!!!!!
But if they did, they would be found at Lucinda Ellery!!!
I cant even begin to describe what a difference my intralace system has made to my life. That might sound dramatic! But after a horrendous year of hair loss, wigs and more wigs, my first trip to Lucinda Ellery gave me my life back. There are many amazing aspects to this experience.I work in hospitality, and to me, great service is key to everything. And you get great service in bucket loads in this amazing placeMy first call to Lucinda Ellery was with Daniella Brugnoli-Edwards. I thought, if first impressions are anything to go by, I am on the right road.
I had spent a fortune on wigs. I visited one of the allegedly best wig makers in London and had a wig custom made, at a cost of 5,000 pounds. ( just to put this into context, I never got one follow up call from the salon to see how I was getting on!)I spent another 5,000 on 4 other wigs. While some of them looked OK, I always knew I was wearing a wig.I had to wake up in the morning and look at my bald head . And take my hair off at night. I hated this. I just could not cope with looking in the mirror. I have 2 girls. One aged 12, who got so upset seeing me without hair.My 15 year old was not so bothered. But the younger one really found it distressing. To her, I looked sick without a wig. And she associated it with what she knew about cancer. It scared her.
I am very active and go to the gym most days. This became so stressful.Always wondering would my wig move or not. I was at my lowest ever when the lock down hit. No work. No gym. And no hair!I thought, there has to be some other solution apart from wigs. Wigs just were not working for me.
Having done some research, I came across Lucinda Ellery.I also found the competitor company. A breakaway, I believe from LE.And this is where Lucinda Ellery shone!
I spoke with Daniella. who was so helpful. Asked me all the right questions. Answered all of mine. Asked for photos. And then called me back when she had got them. She put me through to Chantal, who was so professional and put me at ease.
Meanwhile over at the competing salon( not really, but just to distinguish we will call them competitors!) they were dismissive. Unhelpful and actually rude. You guys need to learn a thing or 2 of how to treat potential clients. Maybe ask Lucinda Ellery for some tips!Decision made!Appointment booked .I was so looking forward to getting rid of the dreaded wigs! Unfortunately, my first trip was during the pandemic. So things were not as I have been told they normally are in the salon. NO coffee or glass of wine! But I survived!!! I was treated so well. All the staff were wonderful. The lovely lady looking after me most of the day was Simone. a true professional. She explained everything in detail. And overlooked all the work done on my hair during the long day. Giving direction to the team who worked on my hair. I am sorry I dont remember everyones names. But the entire team was hardworking and conscientious.
I was in the salon from 09.00 to 19.00.The styling was done by Philippe . Fantastic and he styled my hair as per my pre alopecia photos. All I can say is WOW!I walked out of there feeling like me ! ( well almost!) I had to go back again the next day for a blow dry and some more styling. I left after the second day, feeling 100% like the old me! . For the first time in 13 months.I have since been back twice. And am due a trip again next week for a realignment. On the last 2 occasions, Simone and Chantal and their teams have made sure I leave looking and feeling great.
Andres on reception is efficient and courteous. Greeting with a smile. And Daniela has called me/ e-mailed me after each trip to ask if everything was OK. ( can't praise this lovely girl enough. A HUGE asset to the salon)
What I love about the system, is I actually forget that I have it!I go to the salon once or twice a week to have it blow dried ( once again, I have a happy hairdresser!!!)I work out at the gym as I did pre hair loss, without stressing if it is going to fall off!I swim. Run. Hike. Rollerblade. All as I did before my alopecia. But to me , what I love most, is I brush my teeth at night and in the morning, looking at me in the mirror. Not some bald person I do not recognise!I know it is only hair, and some people can cope better than others with the hair loss.I couldn't. And the despair that I felt during that long year, is now gone.
Don't even think twice about making your appointment with Lucinda Ellery.I attend the salon in Hammersmith. And I would give them 10 out of 10. For everything from customer service, to standard and quality. I really could not even find a negative if I had to. Not often I can say that, about anything.
Thanks guys and see you next week.

I have a mini intralace system
I have a mini intralace system. It is wonderful not to feel conscious about my thinning hair and I feel so much better with the system. I go to the Southampton studio and I have to give a particular recommendation to Paulo, who is brilliant. He really cares about doing a good job and making sure you are happy. He is also very easy to talk to and a generally nice guy. Ask for him!
