Deceptive label
i do think the product ingredients are good but LH is deceptive with calories. Staff is very nice. It’s far too expensive for a big dog and they don’t understand how to sustain a dog properly. labels need to be accurate! they made an enormous unforgivable mistakes with labeling calories .. dogs drop far too much weight on this diet .. their algorithm is also ridiculously low..A sweet neglected foster dog i rescued was emaciated from the shelter so the 500$ i spent from their order monthly in addition to $200 home cooked didn't cut it. He was losing weight!
He was ravenous.
It left him famished so he ate my neighbor’s garden and anything he could grab on the street. I couldn't figure out why he was losing weight & spent more money i didn't have as a disabled person.
I was running all these GI panels, addisons, etc over several visits at the vet. Could a dog have hyperthyroidism? Well possible so i ran that too. But no he didn’t
Turns out LH *mislabeled their food bags
& that caused the skinny GSD former stud to become emaciated.
I was also contracted to give a neighbor’s Boston acupuncture and he lost a few lbs on little hunter. Thats too much weight for a small dog:
i even mentioned to LH i want to adopt my foster but the cost and all the consequential vet bills (which were all unnecessary) but due to their egregious error.
I mentioned he needs 2700 calories a day. I still ordered 2000 from them for months and cooked the rest for him
.their algorithm was so low dogs would get into trouble bc they are starving and i bet the would become food aggressive around other dogs. That can lead to euthanasia so this narcissistic person is creating chaos for the dogs she purports to love..
Eating off streets, containers, inedible mushrooms , poisonous plants etc. He was a great foster dog and i would have adopted but the amount of money i spent w subsequent vet bills bc of their mistake and they didnt label their food correctly is heinous and unethical business practice. They let me go to the vet again w more weight loss instead of admitting their kcals were wrong.
Then they release a new label and its 100 kcals less a cup so i would need to buy more. (!?)
Owner of.l company doesnt love dogs if she is allowing me to wrack my brain w vet bills to ultimately decide i cant afford to keep him. If he was fed correctly from the start all the consequential problems would not have happened (eating my neighbor’s garden)and paying for that, getting 105 degree covid at the vets office, 700 a month for food and still wasn't enough
And of course the 2 vets he saw couldn't figure it out .
Buddy would not need to be sedated so heavily with rx poison but that was all due to weight loss. As a disabled person it was not easy getting a sedated shepherd in and out of car nor to continually return bc of Little Hunter’s mistake!!! She has to be a narcissist bc thats the personality of refusing to admit guilt and creating chaos for those around them fits the type.
The deception created a lot of issues so i do not recommend.
Eventually after losing my mind- and all the vet visits i did change the food- am not sure if that was 5 mos into it? But he gained normal weight, stopped rummaging for food on every walk and no longer behaved like a starving animal. He filled out beautifully and had the best manners. Poor baby was starving! That lead to what we thought were training issues but it was extreme hunger 😓
