Reasoning cannot override my experience
I absolutely hate this yarn company. I have wasted so much money, time and energy. This brand is always knotted. Tangled, splitting and just plain old annoying. There have been cheaper brands and way more expensive brands that I have loved to work with. I literally just threw away 8 skeins of lion brand yarn. Not because it was old in-fact they were brand new. I am livid about tha decision to throw away, but my peace of mind is more valuable. Never EVER will I purchase anything from this company.

Don’t buy from the website
Don’t buy from the website. I ordered a kit, knowing one color wasn’t available. When the package arrived, I didn’t get 3 skeins of red and 2 of beige. They sent me 3 skeins of beige AND overcharged me. I’ll never buy from the company website again.

The website was easy to navigate. There is a great choice of yarns. I like the way the yarns lined up on the order screen so I could see what I had. It was simple to remove the yarn I didn't want and replace the skein with one that worked better.
NON-EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE
1/25/26 ordered & paid for 5 skeins, but only received 4 after a considerable wait. Could never speak to a human. Voice mail malfunctions & does not include an applicable scenario. Completed online return/refund forms which did not include an applicable choice. I was only refunded for 4 skeins. (I could not return what I did not receive!) I also paid $6 shipping for mdse that ended up being returned due to Lionbrand's error. This was not refunded either. I sent 2 letters explaining the situation & got NO reply except a refund for only 4 skeins to my method of payment. Their shippers can't count to 5. Voicemail is useless. Customer Service is non-existent. If I could give Lionbrand 0 Stars I would, but that's not an option either. I will NEVER order from Lionbrand again.

I paid for shipping insurance that covers stolen. Stolen packages. The package was stolen 4 minutes after delivery (I have it on video). More than 2 weeks after filing the claim, I have not heard from Lion Brand, nor have they responded to my emails. As a fiber artist and teacher, I have been a customer for at least 15 years, and being treated this way is an extreme disappointment. I will no longer be buying anything from them. This customer service is AWFUL. There is no phone number to call, and dealing with them online means you are working with a AI bot. The bot created a “help ticket” but I’ve heard nothing form 2 weeks. Completely unacceptable.

I placed an order 2weeks ago and still hasn’t been shipped yet. The problem is when I go to their return page they are charging me $42.00 to ship back but I only paid $13.00 shipping originally.

Sent my order to a delivery point. Tracking number states the order has not arrived. Paid for in November 2025. It is now march 2026 and still no goods. Why send on online purchase to a pick up point and not direct to customer? No idea where pick up point is on tracking app. This company must be a scam.

After waiting an extended amount of time to receive an order it came without two skeins of yarn that they have in stock. After sending out multiple emails to customer service they reached out saying I needed to jump through hoops and send my email elsewhere. A paying customer should not be made to do more work when the company is in the wrong. To boot one of the skeins of yarn is twisted in knots halfway through that I have to recut and tie to make it look presentable. Will not be purchasing Lion Brand again.

I want to be able to love this company! Great product and selection! Horrible customer service and getting orders out! Pretty sure they have blanket replies written that are copied and pasted when you reach out. Placed an order 3 weeks ago and can’t give me an answer on status! And of course it’s too late to cancel!
Missing package, bad customer service
My package from Lion Brand was in a post office in my state for about 2 weeks. The tracking number then disappeared from the USPS website . I had contacted Lion Brand before about this odd delay and they answered me once. But they have not answered my email since. I requested a refund and received no reply. There is no telephone number I could find to contact them and request a refund. They don't answer their support emails. My order was for over $130 . I would like a refund but there's no response from Lion Brand. The package was insured.
I've been ordering from Lion Brand for years and never had a problem. Maybe this is one of those companies that you can depend on if everything goes well but they are not good with problems or customer service (in my experience).
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. I tried multiple times to get orders cancelled and they never answered my emails. I just got an email to say they shipped the order anyway.
Yarn caused me pain.
The review links don't allow me to review the products. The Re-Up Bonus Bundle® Yarn was not at all soft. It was scratchy and caused burns on my fingers. Tiny shards of plastic also left splinters.
Unacceptable customer service and return
I have been trying to get a refund for an order I placed in OCTOBER of 2025. It is now the end of January 2026. The problem started when I went to return a color from my order and was never given a return label. The website told me they were processing my return so I figured it would take some time and I was patient with them. A few weeks later I decide to return some other colors and it generated a return label right away! Thats when I realized something was wrong, so I contacted customer service, and they told me I could return the two orders in a single box using the shipping label I did get. I followed their instructions exactly, and tracking confirms the package was delivered to them. I was then given a refund for only one return (the one associated with the label I used) and they are now claiming the second return was “not in the box,” despite both returns being shipped together. If the box was received and one return was processed, then they have the other yarn I returned and are denying the error on their end.
Weeks later, I am still missing part of my refund. I have spent hours trying to get this sorted out with them and they are not willing to help in the slightest. They are rude to me, and have never once shown me that they are listening or even care. this experience with them has been a complete nightmare.
Radio silence by customer service is a bad look.
During the 2025 Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale, I purchased two bundle sets of yarn: a dozen skeins of Heartland and a dozen skeins of Basic Stitch Skein Tones. When I added these to my cart, an additional set of each item appeared with FREE listed as the price. I'm thinking it's a surprise bonus. Cool, right?
Two weeks elapse, the order ships, then finally arrives; the original two sets are in the box, nothing additional. I check the website to see "partial" under fulfillment status. All e-mails state that "some" of my items were on the way or delivered.
Okay, but where are the others? I drop an e-mail to customer service asking for clarification. No response. I wind up writing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau; LBY opts not to contact me despite the BBB asking them to do so. It's now been approximately one month without any contact other than one automated response acknowledging my initial e-mail request.
I'm not asking for the moon; if it *was* a bonus promo and they ran out of stock, I said what I'd accept as a substitute (different colors from the same product lines, which is not outrageous).
The yarn quality is there, which is why I made a purchase in the first place. The lack of care and follow through from the customer service team as well as senior staff really rankles.
