I was sceptical about being hooked into this scheme having been given a free 3 month trial when I paid £60 to Lifetime Legal for verification of my id.
I then continued with a monthly payment, still rather doubtful of the benefit.
I am so glad that I did, however, as I have had a significant reimbursement of the costs incurred from my failed purchase.
I would recommend this to anyone considering whether or not to continue with the cover.

Great insurance to have when moving. Unfortunately had to use as my sale fell through, but the service provided has been exceptional. The gathering of information is a bit tedious, but they were extremely patient and gave all the info required. Have just received the email today to say that I will be paid out. I'm so glad I did this as it has made a horrible situation easier to bare! Thank you!

My house purchase fell through after the vendor misrepresented the sale as chain-free, then went silent for weeks after admitting he needed to delay — never formally withdrawing, just disappearing along with his solicitor, even after my solicitor warned him that no timeline meant we'd have to pull out.

I claimed under Lifetime Legal's Mover Protection benefit. They declined it, and declined my appeal, calling it a "protracted transaction." Their own final letter even acknowledged the chain issue wasn't disclosed to me before I made my offer — but called that a "third-party misdescription issue," not their problem.

Here's the real catch: Mover Protection is explicitly not an insurance product. That's not just small print — it means payouts are entirely at their own discretion, with no regulator like the Financial Ombudsman Service to appeal to if they say no, because there's no actual insurance contract to hold them to. You're not covered the way you'd assume "protection" means — you're relying on them choosing to pay you, with no outside body able to overturn that choice.

I paid monthly believing I had real protection in place, and skipped getting proper buyer's insurance as a result. When it actually mattered, I got a letter admitting I'd been misled by the vendor, and a decision that still said no — with nowhere independent to take it. Think twice before relying on this as your safety net.

I'm pursuing a formal complaint and the Legal Ombudsman regardless, but understand that route exists because they're a regulated solicitor firm, not because this benefit itself is accountable to anyone.

I have received excellent service from Lifetime Legal through the process of selling and buying my property, and great help when the transactions fell through, initiated by my buyer pulling out just before exchange of contracts, when I was advised that I could claim some of the expenses incurred through Mover Protection.

I used Lifetime Legal's panel referral service when purchasing a leasehold flat in Portsmouth and was referred to Jasper Vincent Solicitors. The experience from referral to completion was excellent throughout. The instruction process was smooth, the fee structure was transparent, and the Mover Protection cover gave real peace of mind during what turned out to be a complex transaction involving a higher-risk building and multiple enquiries. Jasper Vincent, and in particular Jocelyn Humphrys, handled the file with professionalism and clear communication at every stage. Completion took fifty-nine days from offer acceptance on a cash purchase. I would use both Lifetime Legal and Jasper Vincent again without hesitation and have no reservations in recommending them.

The estate agent we’re buying a house through uses Lifetime Legal to carry out certain verification checks. During the call, I was asked to sign up for a free 3-month subscription and was repeatedly told, both during the call and in follow-up emails, that I would receive a reminder before payments started.

No reminder was received, yet the payment was taken. Interestingly, I received all of their other emails, but not the one they claim was sent notifying me that the payment was about to start.

They are now refusing to issue a refund. Having since read some of the other reviews, it appears this is a recurring issue. Perhaps they need to investigate why so many customers claim not to have received the specific email notifying them that payments were starting.

Seems like a dishonest company. I definitely would not recommend them. Be very wary if your estate agent uses this company to carry out compliance checks.

I had a 3 month free membership which I received when I had to have an ID check. The benefits were awesome, they included a movers protection insurance. I had 2 properties fall through, due to no fault of my own and I was able to claim some of the costs occurred back.
Anyone buying a home will understand legal fees, searches, surveyors fees etc becomes overwhelming but to know I had some cover was reassuring. Both claims were paid out, service was quick and customer service was great... Everyone buying a new home should jump on this.

Excellant Company, Easily contactable by telephone with professional helpful staff and our claim was dealt with very speedily . Would definitely use this company again ourselves and would not hesitate to recommend them.

Do not use this company . They are only interested in getting you to sign up to their subscription service. If you decline then they come up with a bs excuse to make you pay again for a certificated proof of address. To append this review potential customers should also be aware that they could well be plagued with nuisance calls .Every day for the past 10 days, since the original review I have been receiving calls asking me to report to the “immigration department” or submit my medical records .
