Leaf & Spirit is a Chinese tea house and tea shop on Cherng Talay Road in Phuket, a short drive from Bang Tao and Surin beaches. We opened it because the island sells a lot of souvenir tea boxes and very little tea worth a second cup. Our tea master is Wang Mengyu, Ms. Judy to guests. She grew up in Yunnan, the home of pu-erh, and is the seventh generation in her family to make tea, with more than 20 years at the tea table. The Yunnan Tea Industry Association certified her as a Senior Tea Master in 2010; China Level 2 Tea Maker followed in 2017. She picks every tea we sell and makes the flower and fruit blends herself. On the shelves: oolong from the Wuyi cliffs and Phoenix Mountain, sheng and shou pu-erh from Yunnan, teas from the mountains of Northern Thailand, red tea (hong cha), green tea, milk oolong and GABA tea. Teapots, cups, gift sets and incense as well. You can put together a blend of your own on the site, and we mix it by hand. Taste before you buy. The kettle is rarely cold. For something slower, book a gong fu cha tea ceremony with Ms. Judy at the tea house (2,000 THB) or a private tasting at your villa or hotel (3,500 THB). Order at leafspirit.store, message us on WhatsApp or LINE, or just walk in. Prices are in Thai baht. Delivery across Phuket and the rest of Thailand is 150 THB, free on orders from 2,000 THB.
